GA: Chapter 186: The Holy Lord's World's Lü Dongbin — A Threat That Came From Death Itself
Ordinary Group Leader: "Ohhhh~~~"
Ordinary Group Leader: "When you put it that way, it makes sense."
Ordinary Group Leader: "But wait — wasn't the Holy Lord sealed away? He only came out briefly before getting sealed again. Did he really have the leisure to study Daoist sects?"
Ordinary Group Leader: "How does he even know Lü Dongbin is connected to Quanzhen?"
Lighthouse Richest: "Think about it — once he revived, wouldn't he first check whether the Eight Immortals were still around and get a read on their situation?"
Lighthouse Richest: "Confirm their status before deciding whether to make a move."
Lighthouse Richest: "Getting sealed again almost immediately after coming out would be too embarrassing."
Lighthouse Richest: "And then Lopez showed up and sealed him again anyway."
The Oldest Godslayer: "Insufficient skill — he reaped what he sowed."
The Oldest Godslayer: "What I'm more curious about is what level of strength Lü Dongbin possesses in your world."
Holy Lord: "Oh? First Zhang Sanfeng, and now Lü Dongbin."
Holy Lord: "Perhaps consider whether your own strength is up to the task first."
Uchiha Dance King: "He's that powerful?"
Be My Son: "Gurararara — the Holy Lord's strength is something we've all come to know. For someone to have subdued the Holy Lord, their power must naturally stand above his."
Holy Lord: "His swordsmanship gave me the sensation of death."
Though demons by their nature were immortal — they could only be sealed, not killed — Lü Dongbin was an existence capable of truly ending them.
Even though he had ultimately survived, that did not mean he could forget the death threat his soul had perceived.
He strongly suspected that if the other seven immortals hadn't been unable to kill demons — only capable of sealing them — and if Lü Dongbin hadn't been unwilling to distinguish himself by revealing his ability to kill them outright, he would have died without question.
Ordinary Group Leader: "Ancestor Lü is really that formidable?"
Ordinary Group Leader: "Forgive me — when I watched Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea, I paid more attention to Lü Dongbin's love story than to his actual power. The show didn't really showcase it either. Haven't really read the relevant mythology either. Face covered .jpg"
Ordinary Group Leader: "For Quanzhen, I only know Wang Chongyang — and even that's because of The Legend of the Condor Heroes."
Ordinary Group Leader: "It never occurred to me that Lü Dongbin could be connected to Quanzhen."
Su Yunqing said it a little sheepishly. Her knowledge of Huaxia mythology was thin at best — mostly gleaned from works like Journey to the West and Investiture of the Gods, which in many places diverged from actual mythological tradition. But there was no helping it; without an engaging story to draw her in, it was hard to develop much curiosity about these things.
Turn Da Gu Into Soup: "Something that can make the Holy Lord feel death? But doesn't the Holy Lord have the Dog Talisman?"
Turn Da Gu Into Soup: "Isn't he unkillable?"
Holy Lord: "How would I know."
Worst Spirit: "Why are we fixating on this? Shouldn't we be paying attention to the new members' worlds?"
Worst Spirit: "I want to see the new members' memory copies."
Kaseshiko: "Have you already caught up on all the previous ones?"
Kaseshiko: "I haven't finished them all myself."
Worst Spirit: "I'm watching Bleach right now — I'm at the part where Ichigo is preparing to go to the Soul Society to save Rukia."
Worst Spirit: "Is Aizen about to appear next?"
Worst Spirit: "And is all of this within Aizen's design? Including even Rukia and Ichigo's first meeting?"
Worst Spirit: "That's incredible!"
How was a brain like that even possible? She knew for a fact she could never have come up with something like that.
Kaseshiko: "Exactly. And while most people who pursue power simply try to make themselves stronger, Aizen chose to deliberately cultivate his own opponent."
Kaseshiko: "Aizen is the protagonist in my eyes, honestly. I find myself wanting him to win."
Lighthouse Richest: "A powerhouse's thinking is obviously going to differ from normal people's. I just wish that purple-headed guy was the same kind of person as Aizen — someone who nurtures the protagonist and then spectacularly fails."
5th Division Captain: "..."
Aizen didn't quite know what to make of the others' discussion.
He had watched the Bleach memory copies — and even now he couldn't determine what his own motivations had truly been in that moment.
Was it that he had lost the reason to continue? Or that Kurosaki Ichigo's displayed power had been genuinely inconceivable to him, causing a crack in his own certainty?
He was actually somewhat curious what the real answer was — curious enough that he'd considered recreating the same situation.
In the end, he abandoned the idea.
Even if the circumstances were replicated, it would be meaningless. Having joined the chat group, his mindset was fundamentally different from what it had been then. Facing the same script, the choices made would be clearly different.
He did not want to fail. He would not fail.
Because he had found a higher direction. And before that — he would truly ascend to the throne at the summit of the sky.
Ordinary Group Leader: "Alright then, I'll upload the memory copies for Zhang Sanfeng, Zhang Zhiwei, and the Little Chef now."
"Ding — Group Leader has uploaded a memory copy."
"Ding — Group Leader has uploaded a memory copy."
"Ding — Group Leader has uploaded a memory copy."
Ordinary Group Leader: "The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber world is fairly straightforward — similar kind of martial arts setting to Smiling Proud Wanderer."
Ordinary Group Leader: "Zhang Sanfeng is the ceiling of that world. His true depth of strength is unfathomable."
Ordinary Group Leader: "It's just a shame he didn't step in when it mattered — Zhang Cuishan wouldn't have had to die."
Su Yunqing said it with genuine regret. She'd always wanted to see Zhang Sanfeng take on the other sects himself.
Those sects — Shaolin, Kongtong, Emei, all of them together — they'd all end up being thoroughly dominated.
But winning was easy enough. The reputation that followed was another matter.
Zhang Sanfeng himself might not have cared — but Zhang Cuishan couldn't bear it. Yet he couldn't bring himself to betray Xie Xun either, and so chose death.
Yin Susu followed him. And not before telling Zhang Wuji that all those people were his enemies.
Later, she'd expected Zhang Wuji to grow up and seek revenge. Instead he chose to let go, to turn conflict into harmony.
When she was young she couldn't quite put her finger on what felt off. As an adult she understood — Zhang Wuji was simply far too forgiving. She personally would never be able to do what he did.
Ordinary Group Leader: "Oh, right — @Zhang Sanfeng, I haven't actually asked yet — which world's Zhang Sanfeng are you? You might even be the one from actual historical record."
Ordinary Group Leader: "In which case it would be a different—"
Zhang Sanfeng: "What — Cuishan died?!"
Ordinary Group Leader: "So it is The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber, confirmed."
Ordinary Group Leader: "It seems the storyline hasn't started yet — take a look at the memory copies and you'll understand the full picture."
Ordinary Group Leader: "Things should work out alright."
Zhang Sanfeng: "My thanks, Group Leader."
With Zhang Cuishan's life at stake, Zhang Sanfeng said nothing more. He opened the memory copies directly and began to read.
