Chapter 4 - **chapter four :ashy ashamed**

Well, hey there, it's your girl, Melanie Hudson, and I'm back for another weekly documentation. I had the best week of my life! It was so good, I thought I slept and forgot to wake up, but it was real. Actually, my friends had a sleepover at my house on Friday, and we got invited to a house party at Jules's tonight. And for the first time in my life, I asked my mom if I could go, and she said yes!

Well, my girl Layla was hosting us all, and me and my BFFs are, of course, the VIPs. But what I didn't know was, there was going to be a whole lot of other people. I mean, I knew there was going to be other people, but not so many.

My mom dropped us off at Layla's place, and when we got to the front door, there was no sign anyone was there yet. "Ding-dong!" the doorbell rang. "Heyyy, guys!" Layla welcomed us. "Layla, why isn't there anyone else here yet?" Kelly asked. "Oh, there's actually a lot. We actually decided to turn it into a pool party." "Ohh, cool!" we exclaimed.

Then I froze up again. You... you know Emory, I stammered. "Oh, yeah," Layla replied. "Do you know him?" "No!" I answered quickly. "She's just joking," the others cut in. "They're neighbors." Megan added, "Oh, that's great! I've been trying to get him to notice me, but it's not working." Layla added, I pretended not to be listening as I stuffed myself with everything I could find on the table. "Yummy!" I said between mouthfuls.

The party started with games and petty dares, but it was my time to play. "Elsie, truth or dare?" "Truth," I replied. "Elsie, who was your first kiss?" she asked. "Uhmmm..." I choked on... I don't even know. "Uhmmm..." And then I started hearing everyone mumbling and saying stuff about me. Some even started to laugh. "Low-key, Emory!" I replied. Oh my goodness! Tiara screamed, "You're such a whore, Mel!" And they all started to laugh.

Guys, don't get me wrong, I don't know why I said Emory, but for some reason, he was the only boy whose name came to mind. Plus, I didn't say it was actually him. "So, Emory, when did you move in again?" Charlie asked. He looked up from his phone and answered, "A week ago." "Wooo!" they all chorused. "Seems like Mel is so easy to get... the laugh... again." And he looked at me, and I was so embarrassed, I couldn't even say it wasn't him.

After the game, we all decided to chill out for another hour before going home. Layla wasn't really as bright as she was at the beginning of the party, and she started acting out, talking about how a friend betrayed her and she was a whore and all kinds of things, and I just knew, for some reason, she was talking about me. When the drama kept getting worse, I told everyone I'll be going home and made for the door. I could hear footsteps behind me, and someone called out. It was Megan and Ashley; they were also going home, so we walked home. It was kinda beautiful, and we had a long talk and said things we wouldn't say at the party.
