Chapter 22 - CHAPTER 19

ANGELO POV

I replayed the front door CCTV footage again.

And again.

And again.

The entire room stayed silent while everyone watched the screen desperately, hoping to catch something we missed.

Then finally—

"There," I muttered.

The footage showed Jay leaving through the front door.

But a few minutes later…

She came back inside.

My heart dropped.

"She never left through the front again…"

Aries immediately looked at me.

Which meant only one thing.

"Aries," I said quickly, "check the back door."

Without wasting another second, he ran.

The room felt suffocating while we waited.

Then after a few minutes, Aries returned breathing heavily.

"The back door is open, kuya."

The girls gasped softly.

I immediately switched the CCTV feed.

And there she was.

Jay.

Wearing a hoodie.

Head lowered.

Walking alone through the back door.

The room became deadly silent.

Nobody spoke while we watched her leave.

She looked so small on the screen.

So tired.

Then the footage showed her stopping near the road before entering a taxi.

I quickly paused the video.

The taxi number.

"Got it."

I immediately grabbed my phone.

"Edrix, Rory—track this taxi number. Call the company if you have to. I want to know where they dropped her off."

Rory nodded immediately while typing fast.

"And track her phone too," I added.

Ci-N's expression darkened.

"We can't."

I looked at him sharply.

"What do you mean we can't?"

"She broke her phone at school after finding out about the tracking app."

The room froze.

Aries cursed under his breath.

My chest tightened painfully.

Jay already knew.

She planned everything.

I clenched my fists.

"Then search every CCTV camera in the city if you have to," I snapped.

"But find her."

The next hour became a blur of phone calls, typing, shouting, and panic.

Everyone was doing something.

Calling connections.

Checking footage.

Tracking routes.

Nobody wanted to sit still.

Because sitting still meant thinking.

And thinking meant realizing—

Jay was truly gone.

Suddenly Rory stood up quickly.

"I found something."

Everyone turned toward him instantly.

"The taxi company confirmed she went to a bus station."

I didn't even think twice.

I grabbed my car keys immediately.

"Send me the address."

Aries stood up instantly.

"We're coming too."

Section E and the girls nodded immediately.

"Same here."

I looked around the room.

Nobody was willing to stay behind.

Not anymore.

Rory quickly sent the address to everyone.

And within minutes—

All of us were on the road.

The drive felt endless.

Every second felt heavier.

What if we were already too late?

What if she was farther away now?

What if—

No.

I gripped the steering wheel tighter.

We would find her.

We had to.

The moment we arrived at the bus station, everyone spread out immediately.

The place was crowded and noisy, but all I could think about was Jay being here alone.

Did she cry here?

Did she hesitate before leaving?

Or did she leave without looking back?

I quickly approached one of the bus drivers while showing him Jay's picture.

"Have you seen her?"

The driver stared at the photo for a few seconds before nodding.

"Yeah. She rode my bus."

Hope exploded inside the room instantly.

"When?" I asked quickly.

"Friday night."

My breathing stopped.

"Where did she go?"

"The last stop. Pasay."

Pasay.

The moment he said it, everyone became silent again.

"Did she say anything?" Aries asked desperately.

The driver shook his head.

"She was quiet the entire ride."

That hurt more than it should have.

I thanked the driver before immediately calling everyone over.

"She went to Pasay," I said.

"The driver confirmed it."

Everyone started talking at once.

Then suddenly Ella froze.

"Wait…"

We all looked at her.

"There's an international airport in Pasay."

Silence.

Complete silence.

No.

No.

She wouldn't—

"She can't leave the country…" Keifer whispered shakily.

Freya immediately turned toward him furiously.

"And whose fault is that?!"

Keifer looked down painfully.

Ci-N stepped in quickly.

"Freya, stop shouting at him."

Rakki glared at him instantly.

"Stay out of this, Ci-N."

Then she looked around angrily.

"All of you are equally at fault."

Nobody argued.

Because deep down—

Everyone knew she was right.

Section E looked guilty.

The girls looked heartbroken.

Aries looked destroyed.

And Keifer…

He looked like he hated himself.

I took a deep breath before speaking firmly.

"Enough."

Everyone went silent.

"Fighting won't bring Jay back."

I looked around at every single one of them.

"We need to find her."

My voice hardened.

"I'll contact detective agencies myself."

Then I looked at Rory.

"Ask your father for help. Use every connection you have."

Rory nodded seriously.

I turned toward everyone else.

"I don't care what it takes anymore.

Use every contact.

Every connection.

Every resource.

Find her."

Everyone nodded immediately.

"Yes."

Then Keifer looked down at the picture of Jay still in his hands.

His voice cracked slightly.

"Jay…"

He closed his eyes painfully.

"We'll find you."

But far away from all of them—

Jay was already with the people she trusted most.
