Ayan turned to her, shocked.
"You… you knew my father?"
Naira's eyes filled with tears.
"Yes."
"Then tell me the truth!"
She took a deep breath.
"I'm not from your present, Ayan," she said. "I'm from ten years in the future."
Ayan froze.
"What?"
"Your father discovered something dangerous. A way to alter time. But people wanted to use it for power. He tried to stop them… and he sent me back to protect you."
"Why me?"
"Because you're the key," she whispered. "You're the only one who can finish what he started."

"And us?" he asked softly. "What about… this?"
