The Legacy of the God of Forbidden Wisdom
The moment Gavin was blasted out of the room so effortlessly, Leon understood something terrifying.
Whatever was inside this chained book…
It was far beyond his master.
A blinding white light engulfed the entire building. The air thickened, vibrating faintly, like reality itself had shifted to make space for something ancient.
Before Leon, a male figure slowly formed from light.
Tall. Calm. Radiating an oppressive presence that felt deeper than oceans and older than stars.
The figure's eyes swept over Leon from head to toe.
"Primordial Solar Physique… not bad."
His tone carried mild approval.
Leon stiffened instinctively but forced himself not to retreat.
"I am the God of Forbidden Wisdom," the man said, his voice echoing without echo. "In the past, I stood among the Five Most Powerful True Gods of the Third Realm. Before my fall, I sealed a fragment of my soul within this book, waiting for one who could awaken it."
His gaze sharpened.
"Today, you have activated the legacy I left behind. Therefore, you possess the right to inherit my power."
If anyone else heard such words, they would collapse in excitement.
A True God's inheritance.
One of the Five.
But Leon did not feel joy.
He felt danger.
"Senior… perhaps you are mistaken," Leon said carefully. "I only touched the book. I did nothing else."
This being had expelled Gavin—whose strength rivaled a high-ranking Realm King—with a single pulse of light.
If this god wanted him dead…
It would be effortless.
The God of Forbidden Wisdom watched Leon's unease and finally spoke again.
"Calm yourself. I will not harm you. Let me explain."
He raised a finger and pointed gently toward Leon's chest.
"To activate my inheritance, two conditions are required. This book… and a key. That key hangs around your neck."
Leon looked down.
The necklace his grandfather had given him was glowing faint red.
His breath caught.
"What exactly is this necklace?"
"It is a Fire Crystal," the god replied. "One of the Eight Elemental Crystals."
His voice deepened slightly as he listed them.
"Fire. Water. Wind. Earth. Lightning. Light. Darkness. Dimension."
"These eight elemental crystals were scattered throughout the world long ago. You possess one of them."
Leon's mind spun.
"So this… is one of eight?"
"I do not have much time," the god continued. "Prepare yourself to receive my inheritance."
At the tip of his finger, a single drop of blood formed.
It glowed crimson-gold, dense and heavy with pressure.
"This drop of blood has been refined for millions of years. It cannot be destroyed. Once it merges with you, your veins and meridians will be replaced with those of a god."
His expression did not change.
"It may hurt… slightly."
Before Leon could respond, the god flicked his finger.
The drop shot forward and struck Leon's chest.
It sank into his skin.
For a brief second—
Nothing.
Then—
It felt like something began devouring him from the inside.
His veins burned.
His muscles tore.
His bones screamed.
"AARRRGHHHHH—!"
Pain exploded through his body.
It was as if thousands of invisible blades were stabbing, slicing, and crushing him simultaneously.
Leon fell to his knees.
Every nerve ignited.
His vision blurred white.
Outside—
Gavin slammed his palm against the barrier.
The dome of light around the building remained unmoved.
He gathered eighty percent of his strength and unleashed a full-force strike.
The barrier did not even ripple.
Gavin's eyes darkened.
Inside… Leon was alone.
If something happened to him—
Finding another disciple with a Primordial Solar Physique would be nearly impossible.
Then—
"AARRRGHHHHHH—!"
Leon's scream tore through the structure.
Gavin's expression hardened.
He could not hold back anymore.
He activated his ultimate technique.
The ground shook violently. Trees cracked. The planet trembled as if on the verge of collapse.
An immense surge of power gathered around him—deep, compressed mana spiraling like a storm.
He thrust it forward.
"Boom!"
The explosion echoed for hundreds of thousands of miles.
Dust rose in a massive wave, covering a two-hundred-mile radius.
When the dust finally settled—
The barrier still stood.
Unblemished.
No cracks.
No distortions.
Gavin exhaled slowly.
For the first time in centuries…
He felt helpless.
All he could do now was pray.
Inside the building, the screaming continued for nearly two hours.
Then—
Silence.
Leon lay on the floor, drenched in sweat.
The blood of the God of Forbidden Wisdom had fully fused with him.
Slowly, he sat up.
His body felt… light.
Power pulsed beneath his skin like a second heartbeat.
His mind felt clearer than it had ever been.
The god's figure stood before him once more, now more transparent.
"You have inherited my power. Though not fully. If you can find the other seven elemental crystals, you will obtain my complete inheritance."
Leon steadied his breathing.
"Senior… where do I find the other seven crystals?"
"That depends on your fate," the god replied. "They are scattered throughout the world. Some may already be in the hands of others."
His tone grew heavier.
"All cultivation techniques, methods, and divine arts I created are within this book."
He looked directly into Leon's eyes.
"I hope you complete the mission I failed to finish."
Leon frowned slightly.
"What mission?"
The god's body began fading.
"Because you have accepted my inheritance… the responsibility you carry will be heavy."
His voice grew distant.
"My task is complete. My time is over."
"Wait! Senior, what mission? Explain first—!"
But the last fragment of the God of Forbidden Wisdom dissolved into light.
Gone.
The book that had floated in the air suddenly transformed into a streak of white radiance and shot into Leon's forehead.
Information flooded his mind.
Cultivation techniques.
Mana circulation methods.
Heavenly-tier techniques usable only by divine beings.
Leon absorbed them one by one.
Strangely…
He understood everything easily.
As if his mind had expanded.
From the inherited knowledge, he learned:
A normal cultivator possessed fifty-two Focus Points.
These Focus Points determined how efficiently one could absorb mana.
The more Focus Points opened, the faster one absorbed mana—and the quicker one advanced.
Leon now possessed sixty.
Eight additional Focus Points corresponding to the eight elemental crystals.
Of those eight—
One was open.
The Fire Focus Point.
To fully activate it required the Fire Crystal.
Special Ability: Temporarily increase physical strength dozens of times for a short duration. However, if the user's cultivation level is too low, the backlash may injure the body.
The inheritance functioned almost like a system.
Only information related to Fire was unlocked.
The other seven elements remained sealed.
Leon immediately understood.
If he wanted access to more techniques—
He had to find the remaining crystals.
Among the available techniques, one caught his attention most.
True God Body Technique.
Ten tiers.
Each tier exponentially increased physical strength and durability.
This was the core body-refining art of the God of Forbidden Wisdom.
To cultivate it required brutal physical training.
After finishing reviewing several powerful methods, Leon stood up.
He walked toward the door.
The barrier still remained.
He frowned slightly.
Just as he began thinking of how to remove it—
The barrier vanished.
The doors burst open.
A figure rushed inside.
Gavin.
He stopped directly in front of Leon, eyes scanning him intensely.
