The summer of 2006 ended very differently than history had once recorded.
The Time Vessel Association, the organization that had supported the assassination attempt, was completely dismantled after the incident.
The mission to escort the Star Plasma Vessel ended without the tragedy that had once defined that era.
Because of one unexpected variable—
Yagami Sora.
Riko Amanai did not die.
Nor was she forced to merge with Master Tengen.
Under arrangements made through Tokyo Jujutsu High, she was transferred to a regular all-girls high school and allowed to live as an ordinary student.
The life she had always wished for.
Before leaving—
Riko hugged both boys tightly.
Satoru Gojo.
And Suguru Geto.
Tears streamed down her face.
"Thank you…"
"I'll live properly."
"For everyone's sake."
Gojo awkwardly pushed her away.
"Yeah, yeah, just go already."
"And stop trusting weird cultists next time."
But the corners of his eyes were slightly red.
Geto smiled gently and patted her head.
"Take care, Amanai."
After seeing her off—
The three of them sat together on the steps of Tokyo Jujutsu High.
The sunset painted the sky orange.
Cicadas screamed endlessly in the trees.
For a moment—
The world felt peaceful.
Gojo suddenly spoke.
"Sora."
He removed his sunglasses.
His brilliant Six Eyes reflected the fading sunlight.
"You're really leaving?"
"Yes."
Sora nodded.
His body was already beginning to blur faintly.
The rejection force of the timeline was activating.
"I don't belong to this era."
"My mission here is complete."
Gojo sighed.
"That's a shame."
"I wanted to fight you properly."
"Our match wasn't finished."
"There will be another chance."
Sora smiled.
"In the future."
Geto looked at his own hands thoughtfully.
"…What will we become in the future?"
Sora paused.
He remembered the original timeline.
Gojo standing alone at the summit of the jujutsu world.
Geto becoming a curse user—
And eventually dying at Gojo's hands.
But that future—
Had already begun to change.
"In the future…"
"You two will still be the strongest duo."
Sora's voice echoed across the empty campus.
"You'll change the jujutsu world together."
"You'll train powerful students."
"You won't walk separate paths."
"The so-called 'weak' won't become a wall between you."
"Because you'll discover a new meaning of strength."
Geto smiled.
A relaxed smile.
The darkness that had once lingered in his heart had faded.
"…That sounds nice."
"To be honest, I was confused."
"I wasn't sure if my ideals were correct."
"But hearing you say that…"
"It feels like I've found direction again."
"There's one more thing."
Sora turned toward Gojo.
"Satoru."
"Keep an eye on a kid named Megumi Fushiguro."
"I beat his father pretty badly."
"He probably won't show his face again for a while."
Gojo blinked.
"Megumi?"
"That assassin's kid?"
He remembered the unconscious man muttering his son's name earlier.
"Yes."
Sora nodded.
"He inherited the Ten Shadows Technique."
"The Zenin clan's most powerful inherited cursed technique."
"His potential is enormous."
"Just don't let the Zenin elders get their hands on him."
"They'll try to turn him into a weapon."
Gojo waved dismissively.
"Yeah, yeah."
"You're such a nagging babysitter."
"But don't worry."
"I'll train him properly."
"If he's that guy's son…"
"He should be tough enough to survive."
Sora's body was fading rapidly now.
Like mist dissolving in sunlight.
The system was pulling him back to his original timeline.
"Well."
He smiled.
"Goodbye."
Then he said one final sentence.
"Even during the hottest summer…"
"Make sure you find your own ice-cold soda."
"Don't let that summer become your eternal regret."
The final light of sunset faded.
And Yagami Sora disappeared.
As suddenly as he had arrived.
Only a faint ripple in the air remained.
Only Gojo and Geto remained sitting on the steps.
Their shadows stretched long across the ground.
For the first time—
Those shadows overlapped.
Not two parallel lines.
But one shared path.
The cicadas continued to sing.
But now—
The sound no longer felt oppressive.
Instead—
It carried the energy of summer.
"Suguru."
"Hmm?"
Gojo looked at the sky.
His blue eyes reflected the burning horizon.
"Let's become stronger."
"Strong enough that nobody needs to come from the future to save us."
"Strong enough to protect everything ourselves."
"Strong enough that nothing…"
"Not even someone like Toji Fushiguro…"
"…can separate us."
Geto nodded slowly.
His eyes shone with renewed determination.
"Of course."
"We can't lose to some junior from the future."
They bumped fists.
And smiled.
That scorching summer—
The summer that once led to their separation—
Had become something different.
The summer of their deepest bond.
All the unspoken pain.
All the doubts buried in their hearts.
Disappeared into the twilight.
Back to the Present
In another time—
In another world—
Yagami Sora slowly opened his eyes.
He was still lying in his dormitory bed.
Moonlight poured through the window.
Everything looked the same.
Yet—
Everything had changed.
A satisfied smile appeared on his face.
He had succeeded.
That tragedy had been rewritten.
Ding.
A system notification appeared.
