Behind Logan stood a girl around his age with bushy brown hair and large front teeth. She had apparently been watching his embarrassing struggle with the platform barrier for quite some time.
At this point, she could barely hold back her laughter.
The girl covered her mouth quickly with both hands, but the amusement still escaped through her eyes.
Hermione Granger had recognised almost immediately that the strange boy standing frozen before the wall was probably another first-year student heading to Hogwarts.
That discovery alone eased her nerves considerably.
Truthfully, Hermione had been terrified ever since learning magic was real. She had hidden it well from her parents, but deep down she remained extremely anxious about entering a completely unknown world.
Then she arrived at Platform Nine and Three-Quarters and witnessed a handsome boy repeatedly preparing to sprint into a wall before panicking and drifting away at the last second.
Suddenly, Hogwarts no longer felt quite so frightening.
Hermione quietly studied him with curiosity.
His dark black hair looked soft and slightly messy, with naturally curled ends that somehow made him appear both elegant and approachable at the same time. His features were refined enough to make many girls jealous.
Most striking of all were his dark green eyes.
They reminded Hermione of a deep forest lake—calm, quiet, and strangely captivating.
Meanwhile, Logan remained locked in psychological warfare against the wall.
Finally, unable to endure the spectacle any longer, Hermione stepped forward.
"Do you need help?" she asked brightly. "I'm a first-year student too."
Logan turned around instantly.
The moment he saw her face, recognition struck immediately.
Hermione Granger.
One of the central protagonists of the original story.
But that was not the important part.
The important part was—
Did she see everything?
Logan's soul nearly left his body.
He was destined to become a legendary wizard feared throughout magical history someday.
How could someone witness such catastrophic blackmail material from the beginning of his journey?
What should you do when someone discovers your darkest secret?
Need urgent help online.
For one horrifying second, Logan even considered whether eliminating witnesses entirely might be the safest option.
While he spiralled mentally, Hermione had already walked directly behind him.
Then she shoved him hard.
"Wait—"
Before Logan could react properly, his body lurched forward.
"Oh, for fu—"
The next second, he passed cleanly through the barrier and stumbled directly onto Platform Nine and Three-Quarters.
Just like that.
Logan stood there blankly.
So it really was that simple.
Somehow, knowing the truth only made the experience more humiliating.
A moment later, Hermione pushed her trolley through as well before casually patting Logan on the shoulder.
"Hello," she said cheerfully. "Nice to meet you. I'm Hermione Granger."
Logan stared at her helplessly.
You cannot attack someone who is smiling politely at you.
Especially not when they possess enough embarrassing information to destroy your dignity permanently.
In the end, Logan could only force a calm smile onto his face.
"Logan Anderson," he replied. "Nice to meet you too, Hermione."
From there, events mostly followed the original story.
Mostly.
When Neville Longbottom eventually lost his toad, Hermione dragged Logan along to help search the train compartments. During the process, they also met Harry Potter and Ron Weasley earlier than expected.
Unfortunately, Logan quickly discovered something important.
He absolutely did not want to spend hours wandering the train searching endlessly for a missing toad.
So he decided to solve the problem personally.
Standing calmly in the corridor, Logan raised his hand slightly.
"Accio Trevor."
The missing toad instantly shot down the corridor and flew directly into Neville's arms.
Silence.
Complete silence.
Harry, Ron, Neville, and Hermione all stared at Logan in total shock.
"You can cast spells already?" Ron blurted out.
"And without a wand?!" Neville exclaimed. "That's incredible!"
Even Harry looked stunned.
Wandless magic was practically mythical to first-year students.
Only Hermione narrowed her eyes thoughtfully while staring at Logan from behind.
Interesting.
Very interesting.
Moments ago, she had mentally classified Logan as an awkward but handsome idiot incapable of walking through train barriers properly.
Now her opinion shifted dramatically.
A hidden genius.
Instantly, Hermione placed Logan into the category of Future Academic Rival.
Not long afterwards, the group settled together inside one of the train compartments while eating the enormous collection of sweets Harry generously purchased from the trolley.
To Logan's delight, wizard snacks genuinely tasted fantastic.
Chocolate Frogs.
Fizzing Whizzbees.
Cauldron Cakes.
The magical world truly understood how to make junk food.
Then the compartment door slid open.
Several unwelcome visitors appeared.
At the front stood a pale blond boy with aristocratic features and expensive robes.
Behind him lingered two large boys built like wardrobe furniture.
Draco Malfoy.
Crabbe.
Goyle.
Malfoy glanced toward Harry Potter immediately and spoke with practiced arrogance.
"Well, well. Harry Potter himself." His lips curled slightly. "I was wondering when I'd finally meet you."
Then he glanced toward Ron dismissively.
"Though I can't understand why you're spending time with the Weasleys. Honestly, associating with poor people like this feels rather embarrassing."
Crabbe and Goyle burst into laughter instantly like obedient backup dancers.
Logan quietly observed the scene while eating another handful of sweets.
Interesting.
Originally, Harry and Malfoy met later in Diagon Alley. Perhaps Logan's presence had altered certain events slightly already.
Or perhaps their mutual dislike simply transcended destiny itself.
Meanwhile, Draco suddenly noticed Logan sitting quietly nearby.
For a brief moment, he froze.
Something about the dark-haired boy felt strangely compelling. Draco could not explain it properly, but Logan carried an unusual presence that naturally drew attention.
Before Draco could decide what to say, both Crabbe and Goyle immediately ruined everything.
"Look at him hiding over there eating snacks," one of them sneered loudly.
"He'd probably make a decent little follower," the other added. "At least he's pretty enough."
Draco's eyes widened in horror.
Idiot.
Absolute idiots.
He had not even prepared an introduction yet, and these two morons had already insulted the only interesting person in the compartment.
Secretly, Draco actually hoped Logan might become his friend.
Certainly not like the walking meatballs standing behind him.
Then suddenly—
[Ding.]
[Mission Generated.]
Mission Objective: Crush the Pure-Blood Brats
Mission Description:As a future legendary mage, you have been insulted by foolish pure-blood wizards. Such disrespect cannot be tolerated.
Teach them a lesson they will never forget.
Mission Reward: Skill Experience Card ×1
Logan blinked.
Another mission.
Excellent.
Although the reward was not Legendary Points this time, a Skill Experience Card still sounded extremely valuable.
Without hesitation, Logan slowly placed down his snacks and wiped his mouth elegantly with a napkin.
Then he looked toward Draco and the others with complete disdain.
"Oh?" he said calmly. "From my perspective, you're just insecure children desperately seeking approval from others."
Draco's face instantly turned red.
He looked genuinely panicked now, as though wanting to explain himself somehow while lacking the emotional skills necessary to do so.
Unfortunately, Logan had already begun moving.
Hidden beneath the table, his left hand silently summoned the grimoire.
At the same time, he raised his right hand casually.
Magic surged.
"Wingardium Leviosa."
Every snack across the table suddenly launched forward like bullets.
Chocolate Frogs.
Pumpkin Pasties.
Fizzing Whizzbees.
Everything exploded directly into Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle simultaneously.
"OW!"
"WHAT THE HELL?!"
"MY FACE!"
Even while suppressing his magical output intentionally, the spellbook still amplified the attack frighteningly.
Within seconds, the three boys retreated in complete defeat.
Before leaving, Draco shouted one final threat while clutching his bruised forehead.
"My father's on the school board! You'll regret this!"
Then the compartment door slammed shut behind them.
Immediately afterwards, familiar weakness spread through Logan's body again.
The spellbook truly was absurdly brutal when used for spellcasting.
At this rate, he needed to avoid relying on it whenever possible.
