Ishaan's POV
Well, me and Aarush were sitting in a empty bench in the book store as the girls explore the books there.
A phone rings. Turns out it was Aarush's and his face turned a bit worried as he picked it up.
"Hello?" Aarush's voice breaks the silence, he places the phone near his ear as it was not on speaker," How is everything Viraansh?"
Viraansh, his younger brother whom none of us had meet as his grandparents treated him badly for having Krishna Paksham ability which was the opposite of Aarush's Sun ability. Viraansh had inherited it from his mother, Thanu Sree, who had hidden her ability from her in laws, acting as an normal person.
Krishna means dark and Krishna Paksham is the cycle of the moon disappearing.
It indirectly means that it is the ability to control darkness.
I could hear crying from the phone.
Aarush's face turns red in anger as Viraansh speaks, " Don't worry Viraansh, me, Papa and Maa will find a way to end this."
I could hear Viraansh Muttering something which I couldn't understand as his voice sounded like he was weeping continuously.
It is probably in Odia.
"Give the phone to Maa." Aarush's eyes started watering as he leaned back to stop himself from crying.
I heard a woman's voice on the phone, which sounded heartbroken.
They argued about leaving his grandparents behind and live far from them to save Viraansh and at last, they agreed on waiting until his grandfather dies or Aarush to take Viraansh with him until their grandfather died, to reunite with their parents and live happily.
"It's cruel how grandparents control everything." I blurted out as Aarush gets off the call.
"Yea, This would not happen if my grandmother was alive, she would have stopped it but she passed away two years before Viraansh was born."Aarush sighs as Srimayi and Shyamkeerti fight for a book in the aisle in front of us. His eyes filled with tears, " They are lucky. They get to fight, play and love each other properly, while me nor my parents never got that chance to be like that with Viraansh."
He looks at me with his tired brown eyes, " My Mom cries herself to sleep every night because of it. She wishes that she didn't have those powers and should not have married my father."
"Damn, that's heart breaking," I wiped of the non existent tears caressing my cheek, a funny action to lighten the mood but, He looked at he very seriously and questioned if his suffering was a joke to me.
"No,Bhai, I wanted to cheer you up." I replied smacking the back of his head.
Srimayi and Keerthi came up to us to hand each of us a book they had chosen.
"Where is Mriganka and the bird's nest haired girl?" I asked them
They replied that they were right beside them and they didn't know where they had wandered.
My gaze accidentally went to the Fiction section where I could see Mriganka's Blue Jersey with her baggy jeans, running?
Karthika's POV
I was trying to take a book from the top shelf as a guy in a blue knitted shirt and a black trousers took it out. Instead of returning it to me, he reads the name and thanks me for giving it to him.
He walked away as my eyes burn in rage, "You mental fellow!" I ran behind him, ready to throw hands as Mriganka follows me.
He turns back, "Chill angry bird! It's just a joke!"
"A joke!?"
"Yep!"
"You are an idiot!" I snatch the book from him as he tries to hand it to me.
"What's your name?" Mriganka asks him.
He didn't reply, staring at me, "What's yours?" He extended his hand as if he was PROPOSING!?
I gave him a disgusting look, pushed his arm as Mriganka introduced herself, that too with a confused look.
"Not you, Mriganka, I meant this beautiful lady." He smirks at me as he bent down to take a proper look at me. "Your name is beautiful Mriganka, but it's VERY LONG."
He leans in closer, "What's your name or shall I call you mine?"
That's—bold!
"Karthika, Karthika Nair." I replied as I looked at Mriganka, She was trying not to laugh as her face turned away from me, eyes wide open and lips pressed together as Aarush came.
"Who the hell are you?!" Aarush walked up to him as Ishaan ran to see us and checked on Mriganka before he followed Aarush.
Aarush grabs that guy's collar as Ishaan and Mriganka calms him down to settle it peacefully.
Ishaan looks at that guy and freezes up, "Indeever, what are doing to that Bird nest haired girl?!"
The bird nest haired girl comment was harsh.
"Just helped her with a book." He grins at me,looks at Ishaan, " I teased her but they took it seriously."
Just then Kriday and Sharadvitha comes with desserts in their hands, followed by Srimayi and Shyamkeerti.
Kriday and that Indeever guy did a cool hand shake, and introduced him to us.
Turns out, he was a friend of Kriday and a junior to Rudyash.
Even though both of them are juniors to Rudyash, he treats Indeever like Ishaan as they radiate the same energy and I agree.
Then, Mriganka explains what had happened to them as Sharadvitha gave him a serious look while Kriday looked at him a bit funny as he was secretly impressed by Indeever's flirting skills.
We checked out of the bookstore and I got the book I wanted.
We went to a Park nearby to have the desserts.
"Btw, where is Rudyash Chetta?" Indeever takes a bite, "How does his crush look like?"
Bro! Everyone has been leaking Rud's feelings for Amudha here!
"He is on a date with her." Sharu replied nonchalantly.
His eyes widened as he heard that, "Really! Let's call him."
He calls Rudyash and puts it on speaker.
Rudyash lifts it annoyed "Indeever, why are you calling me now?"
"I heard that you are on a date~" Indeever chirped, "Btw, I am in Kakinada!"
Rudyash sighs, "So what!"
…And he cuts the call.
At last, we bind that Idiot a good bye as he had to leave to explore the City.
(Bird nest hair means someone with messy hair and Chetta means older brother in Malayalam.)
