We had only traveled a few kilometers when the rain started again.
We stopped near a covered area. There was a bench.
We sat on it, but our clothes were already wet from the rain.
He asked, "Why do you hate me this much?"
"Because you did wrong to Zinnia! And I hate guys who don't have any feelings and hurt others," I shouted.
He stayed silent for a few seconds and then replied, "It wasn't my fault. At least don't judge me before listening to my point of view."
"Fine, then tell me—what's your point of view, Steve?" I said.
"It was never my fault! When I met Zinnia, I genuinely started liking her, and she liked me too. When I confessed my feelings to her, she said that she was already dating someone. I felt so bad. She was playing with my feelings. She didn't even tell me about her boyfriend! Now tell me, how is it my fault?"
I looked at him silently. I was so shocked and had no idea what to say.
"You still don't trust me, Ella. I know," he said.
"I don't know who to trust. She is my friend, and I don't think she would lie to me," I replied.
"One day, you'll realize that I was telling the truth. She'll use you too, like she used me and others," he said.
I felt really bad at that point.
"Come, let's go. The rain has stopped," he said.
I sat silently on his bike.
And during the rest of the journey, we didn't talk.
I reached home at 1:00 AM.
I was unable to sleep. I kept wondering—what if Steve is telling the truth? But then again, why would Zinnia lie to me?
I was so confused!!!
