Chapter 134 - Chap.131 - Arrival

The following hours were less quiet than Rigel might have wished.

The twins were fun, even contagious, but there came a point when Rigel felt... frustrated.

He is a quiet fellow, the type who thinks a lot and speaks little, the twins had their way of talking amongst themselves but ended up drawing everyone into the conversation. Rigel, who normally rowed his own boat, was suddenly placed in a speedboat while the twins were the drivers.

Noisy.

That was the most accurate adjective Rigel could come up with for them.

Oliver seemed tired enough to eventually fall asleep at some point, he probably took advantage of the fact that the twins were focused on Rigel to do so.

Rigel wasn't so lucky, fortunately, from the middle to the end, the twins focused on Jack. Jack, being very intelligent, started playing cards with the twins, even teaching them how to play All Fours, which kept them completely entertained.

As for worrying about the twins learning to play cards with the monkey? Sorry, Rigel finally had some peace, opening a book to read in the meantime.

At that point, Rigel heard an argument outside. The twins immediately dropped their cards, ran to the door, and opened it, if there was one thing they enjoyed, it was any kind of mess.

With the door open, Rigel caught a glimpse of that familiar blond hair escaping as one of the thugs following Draco shouted. "He bit me! He bit me!"

Laughter echoed through the hallways, and the twins immediately slipped out to see what was happening.

Rigel rolled his eyes, of course Draco was already causing trouble. He ignored him and went back to reading his book.

As soon as the announcement that they were arriving sounded, Rigel, who had been dragged into the card game with the twins and Jack, tossed the cards aside, letting out a sigh of relief.

This was a much more 'lively' trip than he expected, he just wanted to end the night there, unfortunately, there's still the selection process and dinner.

Oliver had already woken up sometime before, watching the card game with interest, when the warning sounded. The boys also started getting dressed. Rigel had been ready for a long time, he simply cast a cleansing spell on himself and was done.

Of course, the wand he used was made of yew wood, he had already registered it with the Ministry. It was quite easy, he didn't even need to appear in person, just send Kreacher.

Thanks to wizard physiology.

"Rigel, I hope you end up in Gryffindor!"

"Yes, and take Jack with you."

"Mainly Jack"

"Do you think the hat would select a monkey? We can classify it as a mascot."

"Don't be silly, Fred, if we're going to have a mascot, it should be a lion."

"We can put a mane on him."

"That's not a bad idea..."

And they left while they were discussing how to get Jack into Gryffindor.

Jack also liked the twins very much, waving goodbye to them as they left. Oliver shook his head and spoke to Rigel. "We'll go down first. Remember not to lose Hagrid, he's the gamekeeper, as big and bearded as a giant, you can't miss him. Good luck with the sorting, Rigel."

Oliver spoke a few more words before waving goodbye. Rigel simply nodded. At that point, Rigel left Jack behind, leaving him in the compartment while he spoke. "Later, some house-elves will come to take you to my new room. Don't be impertinent, don't make their lives difficult! If I hear a complaint, I'll send you back to Kreacher!"

Jack nodded quickly, he was tired from the trip too, so he decided to take a nap on top of Rigel's trunk.

Rigel nodded weakly, satisfied, taking some dried fruit. He handed it to Jack so he wouldn't go hungry, as he would be taken straight to his room and miss dinner.

It was likely that the house-elves would feed him, but since he wasn't sure, it was best to be on the safe side.

Jack picked up the bag easily, but continued to stare at Rigel with wide eyes.

Rigel rolled his eyes, took out a small jar and handed it to the excited Jack, it was honey, Jack loved that stuff, so Rigel kept a few small jars ready.

Leaving quickly, he was one of the last to leave, seeing the little wizards already surrounding the colossal figure.

Rigel was bigger than most of the children there, clearly due to his physique, yet to him, Hagrid seemed like a colossus. Even with his current strength, fighting only with his hands and legs, he didn't think he could beat Hagrid.

His giant physique is truly enviable.

Rigel thought that the future of wizards lay in hybridization, perhaps he would create the Warlocks in the future, if it weren't for the fact that wizards were very xenophobic, they would have already realized the advantages.

Half-Goblin lineages had much greater ease with spells, half-Giant lineages had strong physiques and resistance to magic, half-Veela lineages, although only the female ones, had their natural charm, albeit accentuated.

In the end, what other variations could be created?

[A/N: What does the half-centaur have? A big... O.o]

Rigel walked quickly while thinking, but precisely because of that he didn't notice when Draco rushed to his side. "Hey! Rigel! Where were you? I looked for you all over the train!"

This caught the attention of the other children, but although Rigel regained his composure and remained composed, inside he was rolling his eyes, he highly doubted Draco had been looking for him, at most he would have looked for Harry Potter.

Why? Of course, because of his fame, Draco, who was used to being the center of attention, believed that only Harry could be a true friend.

Even though Rigel was only qualified to be part of the background of his desk, Harry Potter, on the other hand, could share the credit with him, although Draco Malfoy would have to be the more important half.

Rigel could see the clear dissatisfaction in Draco's tone, but to deal with guys like Draco, you just need to change the subject, offering a random excuse.

"I got bored and went for a walk, but I heard Harry Potter was on the train." Rigel said.

Just as he had expected, Rigel's flimsy excuse was clearly categorized as "accepted," and he quickly moved on to the important topic.

"Yes, I knew him! Joining the gang like Weasley! Harry Potter is a fool, I'll tell my father..."

Rigel ignored the rest of Draco's barrage of words, instead noticing that the group had begun to move, following Hagrid, only he, Draco, and the two idiotic followers remained standing still.

Rigel grabbed Draco by the arm and pulled him, making Draco stop, dissatisfied, but noticing the movement, he let it go, pushing Rigel's hand away, and they quickly followed the rest of the kids.
