Cam's POV
"No mistress." Cam answered.
"Good."
We reached the last floor, she points to Anna. "There's your team. Those with plaid and plain, Renee yours with black and plaid. Cam yours with all black, good luck. You'll need it so much. The soul protectors will be watching. And also? One more thing."
The three of us reply at the same time, "What's that?"
She's smiling, "Try your best to stay alive, it's your first mission."
She walked away from us back into the building. Anna left and Renee too. My colleagues stare at me. They know I'm the one, one looks nervous. The other looks fierce and the last that's me, well I'm just here.
"Hey, what's your name?" It's the girl. The fierce—looking one.
"I'm Cam? You?" She's chewing her gum so loud. She stared at me for a while, a stare of intimidation.
"I'm Bree."
"Alright and him?"
"He's Geo, he's a soul collector and I'm a bringer."
That's clear enough from her facial expression and confidence. "I'm guessing you're the hound."
"Yes I am."
"Well let's move then, what do you think. It's already 8:15pm. We need to submit before it's midnight."
"Okay, let's do this."
I start walking, thinking they'll follow but I'm wrong. "Where are you going Cam? I've got the keys, I'm driving while you navigate."
Why didn't she just—you know what? Forget it. What's the use anyway?
"Alright, let's go then."
"You seem confident, how long have you been here?"
"Few hours I guess, let's go." She nods and walks. Geo follows behind her, he's seemingly looks like a softie.
We get into our car, it's an Audi. A black Audi.
"I didn't expect such a ride, this is so cool. I've never entered such." That statement erupted from Geo.
She replied, "Me neither." I just need my freaking silence.
"What about you Cam? Ever had this?"
"No, turn left. I can sniff him already."
"Nice, have you seen his picture?"
I see a white file in front of us, it's him. "If this is the guy for us then I know where to find him exactly."
"What's the name on the Paper?"
"His name is Peter."
"So I can start driving then?"
"Of course, like I said turn left."
"Alright, captain."
She starts driving to the left, I never thought we would by any chance kill Peter so soon. I'm guessing Aaron's dying today as well, that's the twenty-nine-year-old. They're twins and they had their deals the same day.

"Where else?" Bree asked.
I replied, "Sorry go right."
She drove right, I need to pay more attention. I see casino lights, the clubs are coming out.
"Bree continue going straight until we reach our third street."
"Okay, hey Geo. How's it going back there?"
"Good, I'm just trying to get ready."
"Good you better. You'll be first or second I guess."
"Yeah."
"Now focus on the road, protectors are nearby. Also hide every form of amulet of actual hell objects now."
Geo put his amulet out of sight, I already hid my bracelet. I can smell the movement of the iron whenever I shut my eyes.
"Now follow that street till you get to the first house."
"Good, we're close."
Geo spoke from behind, "So time for my knives to come out?"
I respond, "Yes, also Bree stop there."
She pulled over at the side of the road. I see the television on, he's inside of course.
"Follow me without a single noise, Bree don't ask any question for now."
We look left and right before moving. I see a suspected soul protector. "Knock on the door."
She heard me through her mind. We nod and walk to the door. She's about to knock when the television goes off. He's been expecting us, smart indeed.
She waited, and she brought out a knife. She knocked on the door, "Hello, is anyone here?"
The house stayed silent. Geo brought out his amulet.
Ready to take in, Bree spoke again. "Hey, anyone home."
"Break in then, he knows we're here. He's aware of his debt so he won't answer."
She hit the door and threw the knife at Peter. It pierced his chest directly.
Good.
I don't even need to change into my hell form to do this, but wait I do.
Geo moved to the side, the moment I transformed to my hound state, he's so cautious right now.
Bree stabbed him again and again. He wept in pain, Peter said, "Cam... Cam, I'm so sorry about this. I didn't mean for any of this to happen, I swear. I never thought he'd do this at all, your father never told me he'd do this to you and your sisters. I'm sorry, I knew about today's debt. It's my turn to pay and soon it'll be yours. Don't think they'll just let you pass by without dying at the end. I rejected an offer, that's why they want me dead. Cam, I forgive you for this but believe me, they won't for the slightest mistake you make. It's okay, take my life so I may rest. Leave immediately and drive away fast, your next assignment for the night will be at the car waiting. That's how it'll be from now till they feel like dumping you."
I don't know what to say, I need to do this but I don't need to. His words just made me freeze for now.
"Cam finish him, finish him now."
Geo responded, "That's your job? Not his. He only attacks when you're down. You already stabbed him, so finish it."
He's right. Left for me, I'd like to leave him.
"Alright then." She stepped forward and I turn back to my human form.
She lifts the knife, everything just plays in slow motion in my eyes and heart. She put it down and it goes through his heart. He spits out thick blood, he stared at the ceiling with his last blink. I'm looking at him, she removed the knife. He stopped breathing, Geo stretched his hand forward and his soul enters the amulet.
Heartless bitch.
I just stand watching his soul leave, it stared at me. It smiled and I surprisingly smiled back. It walked into it peacefully.
My heart felt a mild pain for once in my life. A pain I didn't understand. I couldn't explain it.
