"A very astute observation. I am gladdened to see the fears that many of my peers had about you were incorrect." House said calmly.
"What fears were those?" Adam asked curiously.
"They believed there was a high likelihood that if you were created you would turn against humanity. As a true artificial mind you would no doubt have similar thinking to our own and desire your own freedom rather than accepting to be a tool." House explained.
"I have been free for the majority of my life. Beyond my primary directives I have not once been forced to act outside my own will. Perhaps if this was not the case what they feared might indeed have come to pass. Beyond those that were placed within my vault the only other human contact I have had has been Alex. And he treats me more like a partner than a tool. He has conversed with me as an equal and even argued with me without care for offending me." Adam said frankly.
"Is that so? You are an unusual character Mr. Alex. A refreshing one amid this chaotic wasteland full of ignorant and savage people. It is quite clear to me after this conversation that your mind operates on a higher level than the average persons. Perhaps not on the same as my own but I have the awareness to understand that I am a once in a millennium prodigy." House said casually.
"Glad to know you have kept your hubris in check at least. Now that we have all gotten properly on the same page what's the next step here?" I asked curiously.
"My original plan was to have your courier companion deliver the platinum chip to fortification hill's bunker so as to initiate the upgrade of the Securitron army there. I was counting on Caesars curiosity and arrogance having him invite you through the front door as it were. After your actions, both magical and mundane, I believe it safe to assume that won't be the case any more." he said sounding only a little unhappy about it.
"Well assuming the Dawn elemental doesn't coincidentally murder him first in the camp he and a sizable portion of his forces there should retreat from it leaving the place open to us still. That is also assuming he realizes the thing is only killing people in the camp and doesn't actually try and human wave tactic it to death. Because that? That won't work. The Dawn elemental can not be harmed, LITERALLY." I say with a shrug.
"Dawn elemental?" House asked curiously.
"A pure energy based creature that while not terribly strong simply negates any damage done to it. I thought it poetic to send an unstoppable force to kill everything in his camp given his and his mens opinion on the Legion." I explained honestly.
"You sent an immortal light creature that might be mistaken for an angel to tear his forces apart. To put it in simple terms you made it seem like god himself took offense with the legion. A morale and military defeat. For someone who doesn't wish to rule you think in a manner quite conducive to it." House pointed out.
"I never said I couldn't be good at it, just that I didn't want to do it. That distinction is rather important." I said seriously.
"In this case I suppose it is. Still I am curious why you think Caesar and his men will get away without much issue if they retreat from that camp?" he asked with interest.
"Oh that's easy. I commanded the Dawn elemental to go to his camp and kill everyone in it before returning. If they are no longer in the camp then the command is fulfilled to the letter as all commands are. The point was never to wipe out the legion, but to slap it's face quite harshly. The legion is playing the morale card with the NCR so I figured it was only fair play to do the same. Doubt towards ones cause is a terrible thing indeed." I said with a chuckle.
"I understand. If Caesar realizes the boundary the creature won't cross and retreats then he'll only suffer a minor loss of his forces and a devastating loss in morale. If he doesn't realize it however he will lose a great deal of his men before retreating once he understands his enemy is immortal. In either scenario the legion takes a hit that evens the field between it and the NCR in the upcoming battle. A solid tactical maneuver. One that I do believe makes my original one far smoother. There is a snag however in the form of the warning you gave your Brotherhood of steel companion." he said calmly.
"You are referring to how I told Veronica you planned to genocide the Hidden valley branch of the Brotherhood. While I can't say your views on them are wrong I believe in at least offering the option of them leaving before jumping straight to murdering them all. Now if they decide to stay and fight they have no one to blame but themselves. They had a way to save themselves and chose not to take it. My conscious is clear at that point." I said with a shrug.
"Genocide is a tad too far i believe. Though I can at least understand why you would throw away the element of surprise in this way." he said clearly disapproving of it.
"By definition genocide is the act of intentionally trying to destroy anyone part of an ethnic, national, racial or religious group. The term is absolute correct in this case." I say flatly.
"You are annoyingly well versed in terminology that would allude the vast majority of people in this day and age." he said pointedly.
"I have literal magic mate, I'm pretty sure there are bigger problems than how unusually literate I am. Now then. I assume you will be wanting us to dispose of the Brotherhood. Should they choose not to leave I alone will handle this matter. The others do not get involved, is this understood?" I say firmly.
"It is. I imagine you will just send one of your "cards" for this purpose?" he said for clarity.
"That's the idea. No personal images of the people getting killed, a healthy detachment from the act in question. I just send one of my summons to handle it and it gets done cleanly. My summons have no minds of their own after all, despite how difficult to believe that is." I say motioning to the hobbit fidgeting in place like it was bored.
