Ethos grew from an infant into a toddler. He is walking around Olympian halls now of course accompanied by either nymphs or Hera herself. He also got to know where he really is. This is mount Olympus, and he is the son of Zeus and Hera. Before the era of new humanity made by Zeus.
And being the son of Zeus, he is now extremely anxious. It's because there is curse in the blood of Olympus, the father will be dethroned by his son, and the father may also either get slain or thrown into Tartarus. And he landed exactly on the spot for this curse. Ares is powerful, no doubt, but for Zeus, he is manageable. A sharp tempered, head strong and stubborn man can be calmed down.
But Ethos he is different. Then Ethos decided, he will just lay low and enjoy his life, maybe fight one or two titans when situation arise. But he will not care about anything else. And more over, he not only got power but also very good looks. Thanks to Hera and Zeus genes of course.
He is now walking around the halls of Olympus, looking at the grandeur of the palace of Gods. He met many gods and goddesses. Some are welcoming, some are cold to him, some are neutral and some are scheming. As the God of Mind, Emotions and Desires, he can accurately tell what other gods are thinking just after taking a look at them.
Yep, the previlige of this divinity is very good. And he just use this as cover to say he is charge of these three and rarely uses his fire and darkness divinities. He also discovered a strange symbol, and only he can see this symbol. It's connected to the void where chaos, the creator of Greek pantheon resides.
He can occasionally feel few items popping up there. Nothing major though, some food, clothes and others. He has many questions of how did they survive in that void. And he also saw chaos once, it's like watching a huge black cloud the size of multiple galaxies, if it wasn't for the opened red glowing eyes, he wouldn't even know that's chaos.
And chaos is a lazy guy or maybe great great grandpa to him. He saw Ethos, but didn't even bother, just flicked him away with a voice," don't disturb my slumber, brat ", yep, the all mighty chaos just flicked back his consciousness without doing any harm. Though Ethos never dared to enter the void again with his consciousness recklessly. Who knows if chaos is in bad mood, then he will flick harder and Ethos will be gone.
While he is roaming the castle, a hand grabbed his toga and lifted him up. Who will do this other than his brother Ares. " Ethos, what are you doing here? Could it be you're here to see my spar with Athena? Don't worry brother, I will definitely win this time ".
Ares spoke with confidence. Ethos looked at him blankly, the more he spend time with his brother, the more he realised how troublesome Ares can be. Yep, he may not be a good guy, but Ares isn't exactly bad either. He has some good qualities too. He obeys most of Hera's commands. Apart from Zeus only Hera can command Ares. Well, at least in most situations, there are situations where Ares can be quite stubborn to his choice too, like the one with Aphrodite. Even though Hera told him to stop this disgusting relationship, he didn't.
Ethos yelled," put me down. I told you many times not to lift me like a cat ", he flailed like a child throwing a tantrum which only made Ares laugh. The God of War took him to the stands on his shoulder like carrying a sack of potatoes.
He put Ethos down just beside Themis. Yep, the one and only Goddess of Justice and Divine Order. Themis is here to supervise the duel and also make sure no treachery happens, and both Ares and Athena don't go too far. This is a duel to decide the Godhood of war. Whether Athena can retain her authority over a part of war divinity.
Athena looked quite confident in the arena. She held a spear, a shield and her armour. She looks beautiful. No wonder she took the oath of virgin goddess. If not, Zeus may have already made a move against Athena. Ethos looked at Themis who is observing him and asked," who do you think will win this duel Goddess Themis? ".
Themis said," we don't know, Ares may appear like short tempered guy prone to mistakes, but his prowess in battle is unmatched. Athena although she only recently claimed the divinity of war, is a formidable force to reckon with. She is born wisdom and victory on her side. Her battle prowess is also quite unmatched. This is tough duel to say who will be the winner ".
Ethos asked Themis," I have a question that I'm always curious about. Don't take offense if I sound sarcastic or insulting Goddess ", Themis turned to him and then pulled his cheek lightly before asking," speak child. What do you want to ask? ".
Ethos asked," you wear blindfold to appear fair in the judgement, but how do you see this world, your vision is blocked by that cloth, there are things that can affect judgement right. For a proper judgement, we may need to creafully study others too. For that we need to observe even their little movements during the trial. But since you blocked your vision how can you witness all this Goddess Themis. This is my curiousity, Everytime I heard about your trial. Please enlighten me if I'm wrong or ignorant of something ".
Ethos can read almost every God's mind including Zeus. But there are quite a few exceptions to this. Themis is one of them. Along with Hestia and also Athena. Yep, he can't see through the wisdom goddess thoughts, that's what made him believe she is a huge threat for him, especially with that wisdom of hers, she can be quite scheming. She moves pawns without any one knowing them. Not even the pawn itself.
Themis answered while pulling his cheek lightly," indeed young Ethos. Many also had this doubt yet they never dare to ask me this question. I declare the judgement not only from the perspective and proofs provided but also through my inner vision. You may think I can't see with this blindfold, but my world is completely different to yours ".
Themis continued while pulling his cheek more harder ignoring his pained look," I can see through the person, their aura itself will show me if they're lying or not. Order and Justice are quite intriguing powers. Because they stretch beyond just normal laws that any God should follow. they also apply to the physical body itself. The order of which it works, the order of their emotions, the order of their desires, the order of their intentions. That is how I see through all lies and falasies young Ethos ".
Themis released her grip and then spoke," though there are few exceptions to this power too. I can't see through the intentions of few gods and goddesses. And just very recently, a new god is also added into this mix ", she caressed his head and said," I look forward to see what the future holds for you young Ethos ".
Just then a soft voice spoke," can't they just sit and talk. Why fight? ", they turned to see Hestia sighing, her duty is not only hearth but involves well being of family too. And this duel is something she don't want. Because Athena is strong and Ares, he is equally strong, stubborn to still fight even when bleeding. That's what she never wanted to see, one of her family bleeding.
