Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Shadow Protection

Morning came quietly.

But the movement had already begun.

Inside his office—

Shiva Sai stood near the window.

His eyes cold.

Thinking.

Then—

He spoke.

"Call him."

A man stepped forward.

Moments later—

Another figure entered.

Calm.

Silent.

Dangerous.

Srikanth.

Shiva Sai's most trusted man.

His right hand.

"I want you to protect Ram," Shiva Sai said.

"No matter what."

Srikanth nodded once.

"Understood."

No questions.

No delay.

Later—

Ram was at the training ground.

Practicing.

Alone.

Focused.

Karna watching him.

Then—

Footsteps.

Ram turned.

Srikanth stood there.

"General gave me an order," he said calmly.

"To protect you."

Ram looked at him.

"…Alright."

No emotion.

But he understood.

Srikanth was not normal.

He was the shadow behind power.

Training continued.

Ram pushed himself harder for the fight.

Stronger opponents.

Faster attacks.

No holding back.

Karna trained too.

Learning.

Watching.

Growing.

After training—

They moved toward the market.

The place Ram controlled.

Srikanth followed.

Silent.

Watching everything.

Ram looked back.

"You're coming?"

Srikanth replied—

"I go where the order takes me."

Ram didn't argue.

"Come."

The market was active.

Crowded.

Normal on the surface.

But controlled underneath.

People noticed Ram.

Respect.

Fear.

The local gang approached.

Their leader spoke carefully—

"Everything is under control."

"No trouble."

Ram looked at him.

Sharp.

"You're not exploiting people?"

The leader shook his head quickly.

"No."

"We're following your rules."

Ram observed him for a moment.

Then nodded.

"Good."

But Srikanth—

Was still watching.

Like he didn't believe it fully.

As they moved forward—

"Ram."

He turned.

A young woman stood there.

Confident.

Well dressed.

The Mayor's daughter—

Shirisha.

She walked closer.

"What are you doing in this area?" she asked.

Ram replied calmly—

"Checking the situation."

She looked around.

"This place doesn't suit you."

Ram's expression didn't change.

"It does now."

A brief silence followed.

Shirisha studied him carefully.

"You're not here just to check the market," she said.

No reaction from Ram.

"You want control."

Karna glanced at Ram.

Srikanth remained still.

"And you think this area will give it to you," she continued.

Ram met her eyes.

"I don't take control for nothing."

"I maintain order."

Shirisha gave a faint smile.

"Order… or power?"

Ram stepped closer.

"Power creates order."

Silence.

"And where does my father come into this?" she asked.

"I need stability in this city," Ram replied.

"Your father can provide that."

Karna understood.

This was not a normal conversation.

This was strategy.

Shirisha's eyes narrowed slightly.

"So you want the Mayor's support."

Ram answered calmly—

"I want balance."

She stepped closer.

"But don't think you can use me," she said softly.

"I'm not part of your plans."

Ram looked at her.

Calm.

Unshaken.

"I don't use people."

A pause.

"I work with those who understand reality."

Silence.

Then—

Shirisha smiled slightly.

"Be careful, Ram."

"This path doesn't end peacefully."

Ram replied—

"I'm not looking for peace."

She turned and walked away.

Karna exhaled slowly.

"…That was intense."

Ram looked ahead.

"It was necessary."

Srikanth finally spoke—

"She's not easy to control."

Ram replied—

"I don't need to control her."

"…I just need her to understand."

Far away—

Someone was watching.

"…Security has increased."

"…Interesting."

Another shadow moved.

Hidden.

Silent.

Watching closely—

But not Ram.

Not Karna.

The Mayor's daughter.

"…Protect her at all costs."

A low voice whispered.

Unseen.

Unknown.
