MARCUS
"I still don't get how that's
possible,Neither of us take Italian and none of your parents or grandparents
are Italian," Lily rants on as we stand in line to get food.
She was right though, I had no
relatives that spoke Italian and the only reason we know it's Italian is
because of Noah.
Noah Reyes, black hair and
green eyed Spanish, he's also 6'0 which is an inch taller than me. He's been my
best friend since he moved next door 5 years ago and he has Italian family
members.
"Well maybe I've heard it from
Noah or something, stop stressing about it Lily," I told her as I ordered the
burrito and she got fries and burger.
We head to our table, already
filled with the soccer team and Noah. I take my sit beside Noah and Lily takes
the sit opposite me.
" Dude I'm telling you the
match would have been better if..." I tune out the conversation and enjoy my
meal when I hear a voice whisper to me,"il tempo è vicino Rocco", I ignore it
at first but it becomes persistent so I say,"Lasciami in pacè,"
I didn't realize the table had
gone quiet, They all turned to look at me confused.
I also look around, confused
as to why they were all looking at me. "Is there sauce on my face?", I ask as I
pick up the napkin to wipe it off.
Noah as always was the first
to break the tension. It's what he does best,"I guess your love for spaghetti Aglio
e olio made you speak Italian hmm," he says laughing at the thought.
Just like that the
conversation starts up again at the table, followed with jokes.
At the end of lunch, I head to
my locker to get the books for my last to classes when I spot her, the girl
from earlier. Her hair, golden brown Is packed in a ponytail, she looked
stunning but I still could not shake the feeling of familiarity when I look at
her.
As if she felt my eyes on her,
she turned in my direction and our eyes met. She stares at me with the same
strange look from earlier but after a while she smiles and waves as she walks
away.
I move to my locker quickly
then head to class. The class I had was math and I didn't have it with either
of my best friends but fortunately for me, she was in this class.
I walked into the class and my
eyes immediately fall on her, she sat down at my usual seat. Without realizing,
I began to move towards her, I sit in the empty spot beside her.
She turns to me,"Why does it
seem like you're following me," I turn my head to her and chuckle,"I'm not
trying to, I guess we're destined to meet one another," I grin at her.
She laughs at this
unexpectedly, it takes me unaware as I loose my vision for a few seconds then I
see a little girl, her face blurry but the laugh reminded me of the girl in
front of me.
I blink rapidly but the Eerie
feeling remained," we are more destined to meet than you think...," she
indirectly ask for my name.
"Marcus..Marcus Cole," at that
she grins,"Marcus," she said my name like she was testing how it sounded.
"well are you going to tell me
your name?" I asked as it seemed she wasn't going to say anything more.
She turns to me with a grin
once more that twisted my heart and I felt a light pang," I'm callista but you
can call me Callie,"
