Chapter 4 - A Chanel Bag Solves Everything

Marcus's lack of hesitation actually took Mia by surprise.

"Er…"

"Oh, sorry, just a moment!"

Mia hurriedly picked up the scanner and scanned Marcus's payment code.

"Ding. This transaction for the cashback target is 4,960 yuan. Cashback target favorability: 35 points."

"Generating cashback multiplier at random…"

"Generated. This cashback multiplier is 30 times."

"Congratulations to the host for receiving a cashback of 148,800 yuan!"

As the bank deposit notification popped up, a pleasant surprise appeared on Marcus's face.

That's over 140,000 yuan!

For many people, that might be their entire year's salary!

Fuck! Seriously, I didn't expect the system to give so much in a single cashback!

For a college freshman like Marcus, this was undoubtedly a huge sum of money.

There was a hint of gratitude in the way Marcus looked at Sofia.

Who would have thought this tool person would be so useful? In less than half an hour, she had already triggered so much cashback from the system!

"Let's go. I'll take you to get a bag at Chanel!"

At a time like this, one must strike while the iron is hot. Marcus wouldn't let such a good opportunity slip by.

In his eyes, Sofia was now a little golden pig that constantly spewed gold coins.

Sofia was a bit surprised.

Originally, she chose to shop at the beauty store just to test Marcus.

She wanted to see if Marcus was truly willing to spend money on her.

Just now at the coffee shop, Marcus had already ordered her a cup of overpriced coffee costing over two thousand.

If he was still willing to spend money now, it meant he was truly from a wealthy family.

Besides, she had prepared for both scenarios.

These beauty products were things she needed anyway.

If Marcus wasn't willing to pay, she would just buy them herself.

That was why Sofia deliberately didn't pick up too many items.

To prevent a situation where she couldn't afford the bill if she had to pay for it herself later.

But she hadn't expected that not only would Marcus pay without any hesitation, but he was now even offering to take her to buy a Chanel bag!

For a moment, Sofia even regretted not picking up more cosmetics earlier.

You have to know, compared to the price of luxury goods, these cosmetics were just a drop in the bucket.

Who would have thought that Marcus, who looked so ordinary, was actually a hidden second-generation rich kid!

Sofia: Favorability +5.

Sofia: Favorability +5.

From the coffee shop until now, in just a short half hour, Sofia's favorability had gone from 5 points to 45 points.

Marcus couldn't help but sigh.

As expected, money makes the world go round!

These girls nowadays are just too realistic…

If this were in the past, Marcus wouldn't have even dared to think about a girl with such a sweet face and a hot body.

Because he knew that given his own circumstances, there was absolutely no way she would ever be interested in him.

Back then, the fact that Jessica, who was in the top five for looks in class, accepted his pursuit was already enough to make him feel he had no regrets in this life.

However, he never expected that now with the system's help, even a goddess-level figure like Sofia could reach a favorability of 45 points towards him.

The system had a clear standard for favorability.

Passerby favorability is generally 0-30 points.

Friend favorability is generally 30-50 points.

And anything above 50 points means they are interested!

Sofia's favorability towards him was now just 5 points away from breaking the 50-point mark.

Once it hits 50, that's a qualitative change!

Thinking of this, Marcus couldn't suppress the excitement in his heart.

At this moment, he deeply understood the saying, "If you think money isn't omnipotent, it only means the price offered isn't high enough!"

Sofia sensibly linked her arm with Marcus's. Her soft, full breasts pressed right against his arm.

Feeling this soft, delicate, and bouncy sensation for the first time in his life, Marcus couldn't help but blush.

Sofia leaned obediently against Marcus, letting him lead her towards the Chanel boutique.

Leaving Mia and Cardi standing there in a daze.

"Mia… did… did he just say they were going to buy Chanel?"

"How is that possible… where would he get the money?"

"Didn't Jessica say he was just a poor loser?"

Cardi was also speechless for a moment.

"And the coffee that girl is holding seems to be that cup of coffee costing over two thousand that was trending online a while ago!"

"Spending over two thousand on a cup of coffee… this doesn't seem like the work of a poor loser…"

Mia looked in the direction Marcus and Sofia had left, still feeling puzzled.

"Cardi, cover my shift for a bit. I'm going to sneak over and take a look!"

"I don't believe he can actually afford Chanel!"

In their dorm, only Jessica had a Chanel bag, which was a birthday gift from a guy who drove a Mercedes.

Anyone can afford four thousand worth of beauty products if they save up, but any random Chanel bag costs tens of thousands, which is not something an ordinary college student can afford!

Marcus held Sofia's hand as they walked into Chanel, and a female sales assistant greeted them enthusiastically.

But upon getting closer and seeing Marcus's simple college-student attire, a flash of disdain instantly crossed her eyes.

She had seen too many poor losers like this who had no money to buy anything but still brought their girlfriends in to save face.

First, they let their girlfriends pick whatever they wanted, then they would say this doesn't look good, that doesn't suit you, and finally, they would leave with their girlfriends without buying anything.

This scenario played out every single day.

The sales assistant naturally categorized Marcus into this group.

Her attitude also showed a hint of impatience.

"Feel free to look around, you two. Just call me if you need anything."

The sales assistant said this and then retreated to the side.

In her view, Marcus's type wouldn't spend money in the store anyway, so there was no need to waste her breath introducing any products to them.

Once they were done looking, they would leave on their own, which saved her the trouble.

"Can we take a look at your new arrivals for this season?"

Sofia asked.

The bag she was carrying was a Louis Vuitton, a Valentine's Day gift from a second-generation rich kid who was pursuing her.

Although it was also a luxury brand, it was still a tier below Chanel, the top-tier luxury brand.

So, from the moment she entered the store, Sofia subconsciously kept her bag behind her back, fearing she would appear cheap.

Hearing Sofia ask to see the new arrivals for the season, the sales assistant reminded her.

"Miss, we only have a few limited-edition items left from this season's collection, and the cheapest bag is 48,000."

The sales assistant's tone was flat, but her eyes couldn't hide her disdain.

Thinking that these days, just any stray cat or dog dared to wander into a Chanel store.

As soon as these words were spoken, Sofia instantly lost her confidence.

Her own Louis Vuitton bag only cost a little over ten thousand.

And that was only after she had hinted at it for a long time to that rich kid before he was willing to buy it for her.

For that bag, Sofia had suppressed her inner resistance and let that 1.6-meter-tall rich kid hug her for a long time.

Not to mention how much he took advantage of her.

But now, she had only just met Marcus, and they hadn't had any physical contact.

She felt that he definitely wouldn't be foolish enough to buy her such an expensive bag right off the bat.

"Then… how about we look at something else?"

Sofia hesitated for a moment and whispered, asking for Marcus's opinion.

She was still counting on playing the long game to catch a big fish, and she didn't want to scare Marcus away now.

Marcus smiled and shook his head, then waved to the sales assistant.

"Just bring out your new arrivals for this season and let us take a look."
