Chapter 6 - CHAPTER SIX:SAFE HOUSE SECRETS

The remote lagoon villa was supposed to be a hiding spot. Instead, it became their pressure cooker.

Rain lashed the windows as Logan paced the living room, shirtless, claws occasionally flicking out in agitation. Elara watched from the couch, wrapped in one of his oversized button-downs.

"You can't keep pushing me away every time the beast gets loud," she said quietly.

He stopped, eyes haunted. "You saw what I did to those men. If I lose control around you—"

"I trust you." She stood, walking to him. "Tell me about the lab. All of it."

Logan hesitated, then pulled her down onto the couch with him. For the next hour he talked—cold metal tables, endless injections, the pain that forged his healing factor and claws. The loneliness after he escaped.

Elara listened, tears in her eyes. When he finished, she straddled his lap, hands framing his face. "You're not just a weapon, Logan. You're the man who saved my brother. Who protects me even when it hurts you."

The romantic tension that had been building for days finally snapped.

He kissed her like a starving man—deep, consuming, hands roaming her back under the shirt. Elara moaned, grinding against him as years of walls crumbled. Clothes disappeared in a haze of need. His touch was rough but reverent, claws carefully retracted as he explored every inch of her.

When he finally sank into her, it was slow at first, then frantic, the storm outside mirroring the one between them. Elara cried out his name, nails raking his shoulders while he growled praises against her throat—"Mine… my mate… so perfect."

Afterward, they lay tangled, sweat-slick and breathing hard. Logan pressed a surprisingly gentle kiss to her forehead.

"I've never let anyone this close," he admitted.

Before Elara could reply, his phone lit up with alerts. Perimeter sensors. Multiple vehicles approaching the villa through the rain.

Logan's eyes hardened, claws sliding out with a deadly snikt. "They found us."

Elara grabbed his hand, no longer afraid of the blades. "Then we face them together."

The beast and his chosen mate stood ready as headlights cut through the downpour.
