The Choice
Daniel noticed the change.
"You are different," he said one evening, his voice shaking. "You do not look at me the same way anymore."
Laura could not deny it.
"I have grown, Daniel," she replied softly. "Things are not as simple as before."
He stepped closer. "We can fix it. We just need time."
But time was not what Laura needed anymore.
She needed certainty.
A week later, she made her decision.
She stopped answering Daniel's calls.
And slowly, she stepped into a new life. It was a life filled with comfort, security, and a man much older than her. A man who could give her everything she thought she needed.
But deep down, a small part of her still remembered the boy who once called her star girl.
