Heading down the street, Alan made sure to keep his head low, the world around him… felt different in a way.
He was no longer stumbling like he had at the beginning of the last week, he was no longer blind, he had ditched the round prescription glasses entirely, he had no need for them any more, his hair no longer had that thin quality that it previously had, even though only a few strands were slipping out from his beanie, they were utterly dark, and clearly looked healthy.
His skin wasn't the pale and sometimes slight yellow that it had been before, as if he was sick, no now it was pale but it looked healthy, it looked like the skin of someone who had a twelve step morning routine that he most definitely did not do.
His steps themselves were different, it wasn't the fact that he wasn't swaying or stumbling anymore, it was that his steps were somewhat similar to those of a cat, making almost no sound as he walked down the sidewalk towards his destination.
It didn't take him long to arrive before the Forks Highschool parking lot.
The students were already fully gathered there, standing by their cars, chatting with their friends in groups as usual, the entire parking lot filled with either the sound of cars coming inside or ones that were still turned on although they were parked and the bustling sound of students talking, laughing and joking with eachother.
Alan's eyes swept through the entire parking lot before they ended up stuck at a peculiar sight that he almost couldn't believe.
Edward Cullen… was right next to Bella Swan, by her orange truck and the two seemed to be in a conversation together but contrary to the previous encounter that they had in the biology class, Edward Cullen was smiling this soft gentle smile as he looked at Bella… and although he couldn't hear the exact words from this far away, even with his increased senses, he could clearly tell that the man was joking, teasing and even doing what Alan believed to be an attempt at befriending the weird new girl.
Shaking his head slowly, Alan release a soft chuckle to himself, so much had changed in just a week, that even this surprise wasn't even on the top five anymore, it was nowhere close. Alan moved his eyes away from the sight of the duo, focusing on something else.
He didn't particularly care about either Edward or Bella, to him, as long as they didn't interfere or try to mess with him, he would just as similarly try not to mess or even talk to them, infact Alan would be happy if they never even made eye contact with him for the rest of his life.
'Less headaches for me.' Alan thought amusedly to himself before he stopped, his entire body freezing as he sensed one particular gaze locked onto him, it was a gaze that seemed to pierce straight through him and almost look directly into his soul. Slowly turning his body towards the direction that he felt the intense almost deadly feeling, his eyes locked onto the source of the feeling.
Standing at the edge of the parking lot, next to three other people, was a small woman, with a pixie like haircut and a lithe small body, her hair was dark as midnight and her eyes were almost the exact same colour as her hair, there was no difference between her iris colour and her pupil, making it look like her eyes were entirely dark, like a black abyss that if someoen started at for too long they would be sucked into.
Alice Cullen.
It was Alice Cullen and she looked like she wanted to run to Alan right at that very moment and grab his head and rip it right off of his shoulders in an instant.
Jasper Hale was already next to her, his expression showing a deep frown as he held her biceps, almost as if he was holding her back before she truly launched herself across the entire parking lot.
Slowly raising his hand, Alan gave a small confused wave as he tilted his head.
'Did… something happen whilst I was gone? Did I do something to fuck up my relationship with the vampire? Why the hell does she look even worse than Edward did on that day when sitting next to Bella?' Alan thought to himself as he felt a small bead of sweat form above his brow as he slowly carefully took a step towards her before stopping.
Emmet Cullen and Rosalie Hale had walked closer and were now standing next to Alice aswell, whispering something that Alan couldn't possibly hear before Rosalie raised her head and her eyes made contact with Alan's.
Those dark amber eyes seemed to look at Alan with so much pure icy disdain that Alan had to stop walking and instead take a step back before turning his head away and quickly starting to walk towards the front of the school, entering inside as quickly as he could.
'That… instinctual feeling of fear, it's still there, though it's a bit more muted after the evolution… it's undoubtably still present, does that mean that these vampires are still higher up in the hierarchy as a species? That they're still considered my predators even now? Fuck… now that I think about it, even when I was facing Johanna, I wasn't getting this type of fear. I was scared of Johanna because of the sight of her, of what she did, of what she was doing, I wasn't scared of Johanna instinctually, not even once really. This… these guys really are a lot more dangerous aren't they?' Alan thought to himself as his eyes wandered to the side where a floating holographic screen was.
It was the observation result that he had gained after just now using the observe skill on the Cullens.
And just like he had expected, there wasn't a single new piece of information on it, just like back then, it was entirely filled with question marks.
