(TALON'S POV)
"Talon?"
I redirected my focus back to Alvari and quit staring into thin air.
She was looking at me with a look that said 'what the fuck?' and her hand was holding out the phone to me.
"Can you take it? Lala is waiting downstairs for me. We're late for school." She said matter-of-factly.
I snatched the phone from her so hard that she gasped and then I walked some feet away from company without missing the sigh of relief that escaped from Rat as I passed him on my way out.
I rested my back on the wall, away from the other two, then I took a second to breathe before placing the phone on my ear.
"Hello. Mum, I—"
"You idiot! I knew that you would be useless handling things on your own just as always!!" She greeted angrily.
I swallowed a lump in my throat.
"I have been trying to get to you. Where the hell did you drop your damn phone, Talon?! Don't you know how serious this times are?"
