Chapter 309: March's Turn to Pull
It sat in Stelle's hands, a delightfully retro piece of machinery. The casing was wrapped in supple brown leather, framing a perfectly round, polished glass lens that gleamed under the ambient light. It looked less like a mystical artifact and more like a vintage thrift store find.
[Dress-Up Camera]
[Quality: Green]
[Description: A unique and highly entertaining camera with peculiar functions. Simply insert a photograph of the desired clothing into the top slot, aim the lens at a target, and press the shutter. The specialized flash emitted by the camera will instantly swap the target's current attire to match the clothing in the photograph.]
[Note: This effect is purely cosmetic. It does not replicate the defensive properties, stats, or special functions of the original garments. Ineffective against energy-based lifeforms or intangible targets such as souls.]
"Oh, wow! Now this is a fun little toy!" Stelle grinned. The heavy, lingering anxiety she had been harboring over Firefly's condition melted away, instantly replaced by her trademark chaotic curiosity and optimistic nature.
March 7th leaned in, her vibrant pink-and-blue eyes sparkling like polished gemstones. She practically vibrated with excitement, having listened to Stelle read out the item's functions. She was already envisioning a limitless, ever-expanding wardrobe that wouldn't cost her a single credit.
"Wait, wait, wait... doesn't that mean we have infinite outfits now? Our wallets are completely liberated!" March clasped her hands together, a dreamy, blissful sigh escaping her lips as she drowned in the fantasy of endless fashion.
Stelle chuckled, mercilessly dumping a bucket of metaphorical ice water over her friend's head by pointing out the fine print. "Only halfway liberated, March. The system description also notes that this thing caps out at twelve uses a day. After that, it needs a full twenty-four-hour cooldown to recharge."
"Twelve times a day? That's still amazing!" March remained entirely unfazed. For daily outfit rotations, twelve was more than generous.
She then shifted her gaze to Mimi. The little Eidolon floated lazily beside Stelle, radiating a soft, warm glow. March's expression turned eager. "Speaking of which, Stelle, your luck has been off the charts lately! You keep pulling the best stuff. Let me run an idea by you—how about you let Mimi give me a little blessing? Let me rub some of that good fortune off on myself!"
Mimi bobbed up and down, letting out a cheerful, melodic "Mi~" in agreement.
Stelle looked at March's intensely expectant face and patted her chest with exaggerated loyalty. "Of course! Consider it done."
She reached out, preparing to guide Mimi over for another mystical blessing ritual.
But before Mimi could move, a cool, translucent blue figure drifted silently between them.
It was March's own Eidolon partner—Little Moon.
The jellyfish-like creature extended two squishy, soft tentacles, gently tugging at the hem of March's skirt. Its entire gelatinous body drooped in a display of deep melancholy. It lacked a face, yet the aura of pure grievance and insecurity it radiated was unmistakable.
Master, do you not want me anymore?
The pitiful, abandoned-puppy routine struck a critical hit directly on the softest part of March's heart. A tidal wave of guilt washed over her. "Oh! Little Moon, no, no, no!" She scrambled to comfort her squishy companion, clumsily patting its translucent head. "How could I ever replace you? You're one of my most important partners!"
Stelle leaned back, crossing her arms with a thoroughly entertained, sly grin. She looked entirely ready to pull up a chair and crack open some melon seeds, purely enjoying the domestic drama and perfectly willing to watch the chaos escalate.
Eventually, defeated by Little Moon's silent emotional warfare, March gave in. She offered an awkward, apologetic smile to Stelle and Mimi. "Um... let's just hold off on that, Mimi. I'll stick with Little Moon for my blessing. Can't play favorites, right?"
Mimi spun in a little circle, humming an understanding "Mi~".
Deprived of the 'Lucky Star' Mimi, March decided to double down on her own mystical methods. She scooped the floating Little Moon into both hands, a fiercely determined grin spreading across her face. "Alright, Little Moon! It's all riding on you this time! Bring me that premium luck!"
Without warning, she initiated a vigorous, high-speed Eidolon-rubbing ritual. She squished, kneaded, and massaged Little Moon's bouncy, gelatinous body with such intensity that the blue creature almost glowed red from the friction.
Little Moon squirmed, emitting faint, dizzy "ooh-wee, ooh-wee" sounds that toed the line between frantic protest and absolute bliss. The poor Eidolon swayed dizzily in March's relentless grip.
"Perfect! Blessing complete! My turn!" Satisfied, March finally released the dizzy, spinning Little Moon. She took a deep breath, her eyes locked onto the system interface, and slammed the button for her ten-pull gacha with full anticipation.
The virtual prize pool spun rapidly, flashing with blinding light.
While the coveted purple glow of a top-tier reward didn't appear, three consecutive, brilliant blue streaks burst from the screen. It was enough to prove that her harvest was highly respectable, and March's smile widened into a beaming grin.
"Let's see what good things we got!" she cheered, eagerly checking her inventory.
The first item to catch her attention was a sleek card radiating a gentle azure light. Its surface featured a minimalist, abstract design of a meditation room, stamped with a calendar icon.
[Cultivation Room Pass]
[Quality: Blue]
[Description: A specialized access pass for the Chat Group's Cultivation Room. Upon activation, it grants the user a total of 30 days of exclusive Cultivation Room access. This time can be freely allocated, possesses no daily minimum consumption limit, and supports manual interruption and resumption. An essential resource for focused training and solidifying one's foundation.]
"A Cultivation Room Pass?!" March gasped in surprise. "Oh, this is fantastic! This is actually super practical!"
Stelle leaned over her shoulder to inspect the glowing card and immediately nodded in agreement. "Not bad at all, March! That pays for the pull right there. A whole month of cultivation time usually costs 1600 points. You just made a massive profit!"
Her golden eyes narrowed slightly as the gears in her head began to turn, her tone dropping into a teasing, conspiratorial whisper. "I just wonder... can that pass be transferred to someone else?"
"Think about it. If you sold access at an eighty percent discount—say, charging someone 80 points a day—you could easily earn back those 1600 points in pure profit!"
Stelle was entirely joking, but March tilted her head, taking the suggestion surprisingly seriously.
She blinked, processing the math. It made logical sense, but the idea of running a daily rental business sounded entirely too troublesome. Instead of overthinking it, she simply materialized the blue pass and shoved it directly into Stelle's hands. "Here, you try it. See if it lets you activate it. If it works, we can just share it from now on. It's thirty days anyway, I'd never use all of that by myself."
Stelle caught the card, blinking in surprise. The moment she gripped the pass and willed it to activate, a crisp system prompt materialized in her vision.
[Detected Cultivation Room Pass (Owner: March 7th). Remaining duration: 30 days. Please enter the desired number of days to activate.]
"Wow! It actually works!" March cheered, reading the confirmation right off Stelle's stunned expression. "Thanks for testing it out, Stelle! I'll let you use it for two days completely free later!"
Stelle stared down at the shareable pass resting in her palm, then looked up at March's incredibly proud, 'I'm a genius' expression. A genuine sense of awe washed over her.
Could it be that her sarcastic little joke had actually just uncovered a legitimate multiversal money-making scheme?
