Chapter 2 - Radish Head Zhang Lexuan

Night fell.

Inside the independent small house.

Lu Cheng sat cross-legged on the bed, took a deep breath, and summoned the White Moonlight Simulator. Looking at the only remaining chance, he thought, 'Whether I can turn the tables depends on you!'

However, up until now, he hadn't figured out whose white moonlight he was supposed to become; it seemed the random attributes were maxed out...

Buzz...

[Please select talent points to add]

[Talent, Background, Appearance, Luck (25+).]

Each item has a maximum score of ten. If the points were distributed evenly, they could all reach slightly above the median, but...

"Talent!" Lu Cheng could hardly suppress the curl of his lips.

Ten points!

It had to be maxed out. One must know that after the simulation ends, one item can be brought out. The importance of the Martial Soul goes without saying, let alone the fact that he currently has no Martial Soul at all...

"For background, let's go with seven points. If it's too poor, it's easy to die prematurely. Since I'm choosing to simulate, it's definitely better to live longer. Civilians simply have no ability to resist risks.

Appearance, since I'm choosing to become a white moonlight, I definitely can't be too ugly, but being too handsome isn't necessary either. Let's say seven points, a level between superior and top-tier.

Finally, for luck, it can only be one point. That's enough. It's a simulation, after all; it all depends on having a tough fate."

Lu Cheng took a deep breath and rubbed his hands together.

[Simulation start!]

...

[The night was filled with rolling thunder and torrential rain. You were born into a noble family in the Heaven Dou Empire. Because you triggered a heavenly phenomenon and were born to the primary wife of the Lu family head, you were extremely pampered, living a life of luxury and constant glory.]

[At six years old, you awakened the Martial Soul Sun-Shooting Bow and possessed Innate Full Spirit Power. From then on, your name shook Heaven Dou City. Countless forces came to seek marriage alliances. Even the Heavenly Soul Empire Emperor heard of your reputation and personally granted you the title of Earl and rewarded you with territory. But you were still unhappy because, up until now, you still hadn't found that girl.]

[At seven years old, one day, your parents held a banquet and invited a noble family surnamed Zhang, also from Heaven Dou City. It was at this moment that you finally saw the girl you had been waiting for.]

[She shrunk behind her mother's skirt, her little face full of nervousness as she peeked her head out, as agile and cute as a fawn. But the so-called nervousness was only temporary; soon, a little tail appeared behind you that you couldn't shake off no matter what.]

[Over the next two years, you cultivated diligently. With your family's full support, you quickly made consecutive breakthroughs and obtained two thousand-year spirit rings, reaching Rank 26 Soul Power.]

[At the same time, knowing the original plot, you decided to let the girl improve her physical fitness in advance to avoid being heavily injured by absorbing a hundred-thousand-year spirit ring in the future. Therefore, you spent a large sum to purchase thousand-year whale rubber and even personally prepared medicinal baths for her. The effect was exceptionally clear; the girl's second spirit ring was also a thousand-year one.]

[At nine years old, in Heaven Dou City, the Heavenly Soul Emperor held a banquet. Not only were many celebrities from the Heavenly Soul Empire present, but there were also many nobles and celebrities from the Star Luo Empire and the Dou Ling Empire. Although the three kingdoms seemed harmonious and united against foreign threats, there were constant small frictions within. Thus, an exchange competition was held, with the rule that only those below Spirit Ancestor were allowed to participate.]

[Part One, Open.]

Inside the magnificent hall.

Lu Cheng took a small sip of "Grape Brew." Dressed in formal attire, his appearance was handsome. While he didn't stand out too much among the noble children, his otherworldly temperament and the staggering talent rumored throughout Heaven Dou City made him stand out like a crane among chickens, attracting the gaze of many girls.

"Phew... what a wonderful feeling."

Accustomed to being poor, he was still a bit unadjusted to suddenly experiencing the status of a genius.

In three years, he had reached Rank 26. As expected of maxed-out talent. As for the Martial Soul Sun-Shooting Bow, it undoubtedly possessed the Extreme Fire attribute. In terms of combat power, it was maxed out; he estimated that at the same rank, it would be a level stronger than Ma Xiaotao's Evil Fire Phoenix.

"Brother Cheng~!"

In a hurry, a light blue figure popped out from behind. The girl stood with hands on her hips, her porcelain-like little face showing full dissatisfaction:

"Are you trying to ditch me again?!

But it's okay, this young miss is generous and will temporarily forgive you, heehee..."

The girl's eyes curved like crescent moons when she smiled, and there were two shallow dimples on her face, making her look extremely cute.

She grabbed Lu Cheng's arm and refused to let go.

But Lu Cheng let out a soft sigh.

'Why is this different from the Eldest Senior Sister in my imagination?'

Mature, steady, cold, seemingly gentle but actually keeping people at a distance—at this moment, she was no different from a mischievous little girl...

But thinking about it, it was normal. In the original work, the Eldest Senior Sister's family was wiped out, leaving her all alone when she was eleven or twelve and her mind wasn't fully developed. It was natural that her later character was shaped by that.

Right now... she really was an unpolished jade waiting to be carved.

Like petting a cat, he rubbed the girl's hair.

The corners of his mouth also curled up uncontrollably.

A raising-type relationship was actually quite interesting.

But since he wanted to become a white moonlight... and get a score, the deeper the impression, the higher the score would inevitably be.

As everyone knows, if a masterpiece ends with a happy reunion, it might be a good work, but it definitely can't be called a legendary masterpiece. But if it ends in tragedy, a clean ending where the earth is covered in white, then it can be remembered for eternity.

So...

Anyway, this is just a simulation and doesn't involve real people. The simulators he played before were all like this, equivalent to self-indulgence. In that case, why not play it more to the fullest?

Lu Cheng drank the brew in his hand in one gulp.

He extended two fingers and lightly tapped the girl's fair forehead, revealing a gentle smile:

"Let's go, let's go watch the show."

"Ouch~"

The girl closed her eyes tightly and staggered a step backward.

Opening her eyes, she only saw a back view. She rubbed her head indignantly, muttering her dissatisfaction. Seeing that he had no intention of waiting for her, she shouted.

"Wait for me!" with a hint of anxiety and quickened her pace to catch up.

...

The two stood behind the crowd, quietly observing the temporarily constructed "Arena."

Lu Cheng stood at the very back of the crowd, his eyes flickering.

He didn't expect the quality of this arena set up privately by the three kingdoms to be so high. The younger generation from the Xuanming Sect, Star Crown Sect, and even the Body Sect had made appearances...

On the stage.

Two figures, one green and one black, interlaced.

The one in green was a slender and graceful beautiful young girl, a third-generation disciple of the Body Sect, about thirteen or fourteen years old. She was a Rank 32 Spirit Elder named Wei Linger. The other black shadow was Huang Zichen, a Prodigy from the Star Luo Empire's Royal Academy.

"Ha!"

Wei Linger gave a soft cry, her long jade-like legs glowing with a layer of green spiritual light. Her muscles were taut, but they didn't look bulky; instead, they had a perfect sense of beauty.

She launched a leg whip at her opponent.

Huang Zichen's expression suddenly tightened. He let out a low growl like a tiger's roar, and his body was covered in a thick layer of black aura, which was remarkably similar to the White Tiger Vajra Transformation, significantly boosting his combat power.

He crossed his arms in front of his chest and bent his knees.

His body was forced back several meters, his footsteps leaving two long marks on the ground.

"They are equally matched..."

Lu Cheng nodded slightly.

At thirteen or fourteen years old, reaching the Spirit Elder realm is already very powerful. After all, Bei Bei was only at this level in the original work.

As for this Wei Ling of the Body Sect, he seemed never to have heard of her.

But thinking about the era, she was even older than Zhang Lexuan. In the original work, she would probably be in her thirties, with combat power between a Spirit Saint and a Spirit Douluo. Neither high nor low, she would be one of the many unnamed extras standing behind Du Busi when he led the Body Sect experts to block Shrek's gate, the kind with the least screen time.

Lu Cheng's eyes glanced at a young man with a large head, about twenty-eight or twenty-nine years old. He was the head of the third-generation Disciples of the Body Sect, a spiritual-system spirit master whose martial soul was the Spirit Head, Lang Ya.

In the original work, he represented the Body Sect to recruit Huo Yuhao.

In the end, Xuan Zi stepped on his face while showing off his power.

He even made a show out of a sucked-dry chicken bone.

"..."

Notes:

Clean ending where the earth is covered in white, since white traditionally symbolizes mourning, death, and funerals in Chinese culture. Basically, a tragic ending.
