The two spires stabbed straight into the sky, their bodies covered in intricate, raised carvings. If one stood between the twin towers and looked up, they would see even more stone corridors crisscrossing the air between them, stacked at different levels. The highest one looked like a single, thin black thread linking the two towers.
For the trial competition, the committee had opened only the ground floor of the Self-Outside Tower. On this level, just a single stone corridor connected the two towers.
At four o'clock that afternoon, contestants wearing their trial competition uniforms began disembarking from their vehicles in front of the Self-Outside Tower. Amelia, who seemed to have been waiting for some time, clapped her hands and said, "Welcome, everyone, to this round of 'Kidnap the King.'"
