"...I don't quite understand."
The Huiqi Clan Leader's usually good-natured, round face changed slightly. It was as if a ball of dough had suddenly been pinched to a point, or an ancient giant turtle had slowly extended its head at the scent of prey, no longer feigning sleep.
He stood behind the younger man from the Huiqi Family, his gaze sharp and bright. In a low voice, he asked, "You're saying a change is about to happen in Haidu... and that it might be very important to me?"
Milady nodded. "I'm willing to offer this information freely, as proof of my sincerity."
The Huiqi Clan Leader stepped out and gave her a slight nod, a belated greeting of sorts. "I would like to hear the details."
"I had two targets in the Sinking Battle. The first was Luo Geng, which needs no further explanation. The second," Milady paused before saying gravely, "was Yu Gan."
The Huiqi Clan Leader's expression remained unchanged.
