Silk slammed between the two keepers and caught across the raised veins, splitting the basin while both pillars stayed bare. The contractors' wall stood near its end with both drainage gaps in reach while Mother's opening hid beneath gathered threads.
Pressure kept sliding beneath the silk while the contractors watched both openings.
"Okay, new rules," Hajin barked, jabbing his left hand at the shelter before stepping into the eastern section, "keep the wall, watch the gaps, and yell if the lower tier so much as twitches!"
Cassie drove her blade deeper as something scratched along the drainage channel beside her, "We hold here, Sir."
"Nothing gets under without kissing this edge first," Jonas growled, swinging the shield's strong rim toward the scratching without leaving the center seam.
She held her sword low and leaned until she could see Toby by the other gap.
"Let it show itself before you blow the treated arrows," she warned.
