The palace sealkeeper opened the territorial register while Hajin slapped his grant beside the finished guild assignment and signed release. Elise kept the pack below the counter, Sable stood clear of its path, and Cassie watched every document change hands.
"Lord of Blackwood Vale, southern Sixth Region, appointment ratified," the sealkeeper droned, checking the grant against the register, "the Crown seal completes its provincial instrument, so read the boundaries before you accept the copy."
Hajin dragged a finger along the named boundary marks while Jonas propped his shield beside the offered chair.
"Blackwood Keep's inside the grant, the wooded approach too, and there's no extra estate hiding behind some convenient phrase, right?" he asked, keeping his fingertip above the drying ink.
"The charter defines this grant and nothing beyond it."
