Lana cleared the eastern document room's sorting table while Hajin carried the new seal through its narrow doorway.
Numbered sheets waited beside the witness shelves as Lana laid three folders across the lanternlit table, their labels still blank. The casualty lists stayed under a separate weight beside the doorway's dispatches, leaving each record room for its own heading.
She dragged the first folder toward her and inked its heading above the fastening holes.
"Three folders for one war?" Hajin snorted, hefting the seal like a stolen purse. "Damn, you're building a shrine."
"Direct witness statements," she said, tapping the first label, "verified military dispatches, and anchored civilian casualty records, each under its own number instead of one bundle anybody can rearrange."
He slouched against the doorframe and watched her leave space beside each witness name for its mark.
"Why keep the casualty account away from what the survivor says?"
