In the middle of the Elfier city square.
The sound of the night crowd stopped completely. The merchants left their wooden stalls. The tavern customers walked out carrying glass cups in their hands. The city guards halted their patrol steps. Everyone in that place tilted their heads up, staring straight at the sky.
A blinding wall of white light towered high into the sky. The light curved and enclosed the entire city border.
"What is this," a citizen said softly. The cloth sack filled with supplies in his hand slipped. The object fell hitting the stone street with a dull thud.
"Damn it," a city guard cursed. The long iron spear in his hand fell clanking against the ground.
"Is this normal? Who did that? Why is there magic like this?" A woman carrying a small baby hugged her child tightly. Her face turned pale under the spotlight of the giant white light.
"I am sure The emperror will not let bad things happen to us!" shouted a male citizen from the middle of the crowd.
"Yes! That is right!" several other citizens replied. Their voices trembled. They tried to convince themselves in the midst of the mass panic.
At the corner of the square street.
A bright green haired man stood leaning his back against the brick wall. He wore all white clothes and round glasses. He opened his mouth wide.
"Oh damn. Did they find me?!" the man shouted with a look of fear that seemed highly forced.
The man then exhaled slowly. His facial expression returned flat instantly.
Did they? . Right? Right? Right?
"Well. Whatever it is, so be it. There is no way this city will be destroyed. Right? Right? Right? Right?" the man said repeatedly to himself.
An old man nearby stared strangely at the green haired young man.
"Boy. Who are you talking to?" the old citizen asked in confusion.
The green haired man turned and smiled casually. "I do not know. Maybe with you."
"With me?" The old man became more confused.
"Bitch! Of course not, idiot! Stop meddling, stupid!!" the green haired man shouted with a loud voice.
In front of the Adventurer's Association building.
Dozens of adventurers crowded the outer courtyard. The dark blue uniformed officers left their work desks and stood frozen at the giant doorway. They stared at the giant pillar of light at the edge of the sky.
On the second floor of the building.
Aldes stood silently near the stone balcony barrier. The night wind blew softly moving his black cloak. He stared at the pillar of light with a calm gaze from behind his white porcelain mask.
Is this Tominus's doing? Or that Viona envoy earlier?
Aldes lowered his gaze looking at both his palms.
I do not understand. I do not understand why I suddenly became very calm. Is this the effect of a mind protection magic? Or the doing of that damn Villavia again?
Aldes raised his head again staring at the pillar of light in the distance.
Whatever is happening, something very huge is happening right now. I must return to the palace immediately.
He clenched his right fist tightly.
What happened to Illfa? Did she manage to report? Tch.
In a slightly dim corner of the stone balcony.
A skull headed man stared at the night sky calmly. His white bones reflected the light from the city barrier. Beside him stood a bright green haired woman wearing a long cloak.
"This magic," the skull man said with a deep voice echoing from his neck cavity.
The green haired woman crossed both her arms in front of her chest. She stared intently at the white light wall. "Should we do something, Ricky?"
The woman tilted her head slightly.
"If I am not mistaken, this magic is a witch's sacrificial ritual. If it is not canceled, this entire city will vanish."
"If I am not mistaken, yes! If I am not mistaken!" the woman exclaimed, emphasizing her own sentence.
The man named Ricky did not answer immediately. He fell silent for a few seconds.
.
"No need," Ricky answered flatly. "He is here."
"He?" The green haired woman raised one of her eyebrows.
The skull headed man turned his neck to look at the woman. "You know exactly who I am talking about."
"It is impossible to cause destruction in this city. Even dragons do not dare because he is here. Let alone that fool," Ricky continued with a casual tone.
"Then what is that up there?" The woman raised her right hand and pointed repeatedly towards the sky. "There, look, look!"
"A suicide mission," Ricky said.
No matter how many plans are prepared, the result will remain the same.
"What is clear is that it is a suicide mission."
Ricky turned his body, turning his back to the stone balcony. "Come on. Let us continue our card game."
High in the sky above the capital.
The Viona envoy floated silently in the air. He regulated his irregular breathing. He placed his right palm on his wounded chest. A bright green light radiated from his hand casting a healing magic.
The middle aged man smiled bitterly staring at the buildings down below.
"Forgive me for the disturbance, citizens."
"You got balls. I admit that."
Tominus's deep voice sounded very clear from behind.
The Viona envoy widened his eyes in panic.
He turned his body around and immediately raised both his hands. He fired a barrage of blindingly bright light magic straight at Tominus.
