Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Meeting the Grandparents

A baby was sleeping peacefully in a cradle, alone in the room, with a quiet air slowly going out and coming in through a window under the peaceful glow of the full moon.

Then suddenly, two figures appeared in front of the prince's cradle—one with the silhouette of a man and another of a woman. The glowing moon cast its light onto the new figures in the prince's room: a middle-aged man wearing a long robe adorned with beautiful jewels and diamonds, with the features of a trained soldier. The same could be said for the female figure, who wore a beautiful black dress with jewels embedded across its entire length. She also looked middle-aged but barely had any signs of aging.

They stayed peacefully, looking at the baby for a few moments, and then looked at each other and smiled.

"Looks like we are grandparents now, aren't we?" said the man, a smile present on his face, to his partner—or in this case, life partner.

"Yes, darling, we are," replied the woman, now confirmed to be the prince's grandmother. After saying that, she took the baby prince into her arms, who was sleeping as soundly as ever, without knowing that he had met his grandparents for the first time in the middle of the night.

Both grandparents played with the prince for a few moments before placing him back into his cradle and making sure he was covered properly by his blanket.

After placing the baby back into his cradle and covering him with the blanket, "Where is our son? Doesn't he know that his parents have come to visit their grandchild today, or is he simply too busy to meet us right now?" said the grandfather, a bit of anger mixed in his voice as he spoke to his wife.

"I am sure he is busy. Managing a kingdom is not an easy thing, my love," she replied calmly, as this had happened many times before.

So, saying that, both sat down on the sofa that was present in the room and relaxed a bit. The grandfather picked up a book from the table beside the sofa and began reading it. The grandmother looked at her husband, then leaned in and rested her head on his shoulder.

She then sent a message to her son, saying, "We are here and waiting in the prince's room for you to come meet us. And your father is getting more upset by the minute, so do hurry up, son." and then closed her eyes for a moments to relax a bit more as the journey of coming took a tool on her and husband as they lived a good distance from their children and that made visiting their children very long and time consuming not to mention the tool covering such a long distance took on their body though less affected than others they weren't immune to such issues.
