After being gifted her Falna and having enjoyed the party Yumi selected a room for the night as Nero and Aurathia returned to their own
That night Nero was taught more magic by Rias, his power of destruction increasing in strength and his control over it increasing, he was also able to create a small storage space that was currently only the size of his backpack
"As your control increases and you get more used to using demonic magic the amount that you are able to store will increase and the destructive might of your power of destruction will increase" she explained to him, demonstrating the difference in their power by easily erasing a hard armored in a single blast, showing that even without a falna her magic was much stronger than his
Using his magic over and over again until he couldn't continue, followed by Rias giving him theory lessons in order to increase his knowledge and in order to get a better understanding of how to use his demonic magic
"When it comes to demonic magic emotions are what fuel the spells, the stronger an emotion that you use when using it the stronger that the spell will be" she said, the training space creating 2 target for Nero, one depicting Aurathia, the other one depiciting an imp
"To show you what I mean I want you to fire the same spell with the same amount of power put into it at both targets" she stated
"Alright" Nero replied, chosing to fire a shard of ice at both targets, the imp target being destroyed completely, whereas the target depicting Aurathia was barely damaged at all
"As you can see your emotions of wanting to destroy the imp made your attack more powerful even without using more magic, but in return when trying to attack someone that you do not wish to attack your demonic magic power will be much weaker in comparison" Rias decalred
"That's interesting to know" Nero commented "by the way, I have been trying to use magic to increase the might of the tessen that I use, but I found that the only type of magic that I can enhance my attacks with is ice type magic and for some reason I feel like I will be able to use the power of destruction to enhance them as well"
"Let me see your weapon, maybe I can tell you something" Rias stated
"Here you go" Nero handed her shirayuki and Hyōka
"It seems that these tessen were made using ice materials that are quite strong" Rias mumbled, looking over the fans "because of this they only seem to be able to be enhanced by ice type abilities" she determined
"Then why do I feel like I will be able to use the power of destruction to enhance them as well?" Nero asked
"It is most likely because the power of destruction is more powerful than the materials that were used to make them, as such you should be able to shroud you weapon in the power of destruction if you have enough control" Rias informed Nero
"Cool, that will make me able to deal with much more difficult foes" Nero smiled, taking back the tessen
"But be careful if you do use the power of destruction to enhance your weapons" Rias continued "from what I had read in the past my family has had many people who used their power in the same way that you are trying to use it and as such they were incredibly powerful on the battlefield, but if they ever lost focus it was possible for them to accidently destroy their own weapon"
"So basically, as usual, I need to train harder in order to make sure that that doesn't happen" Nero remarked with a wry smile
"Exactly" Rias smiled back at him "and in order to do that we will be using a course that my brother used to use" an obstacle course forming in the training space, with hills and dips following a path with a set of rings suspended in the air next to it "this exercise is designed to help you control your power while also improving your ability to focus on 2 things at once"
Moving to the start line Rias's clothes changed into a set of exercise clothes, creating a ball of destruction next to her Rias started the course, the orb of destruction floating alongside her as Nero followed the course next to her while she explained it as she climbed over logs, crawled through tunnels and balanced on balance beams
"As you can see this assult course will train you body but the main focus for you will be being able to control your magic in the same way I am" the orb of destruction moving through the floating rings on the other side of the course, keeping up with Rias while also making sure not to damage any of the rings
Reaching the end of the course Rias brought the orb of destruction back next to her "now it is your turn, each time you are able to finish the course in a specified amount of time we will make the course more difficult, once you are able to complete the hardest level of the course you can consider yourself to have finished my training, as given the fact that you are aiming to have more control over your power of destruction as it's destructive might will increase with your falna I expect you to be able to do better than I have done on the hardest course"
"I guess I'll give it a try then" Nero commented as he stood at the start line, creating a small orb of destruction next to him
"And in order to incentives you even more there will be punishments for anytime that you damage any of the rings, let's say 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats and a 10km run each time you fail" she decided as Nero got ready to start "all with maintaining a orb of destruction next to you" she smiled
"What!?" Nero exclaimed, his control faltering causing his orb of destruction to graze one of the rings it was going through
"You damaged a ring" Rias smiled mischeviously "time to exercise"
"You're the devil" Nero groaned as he started the workouts
"Yes I am" Rias smiled as Nero began his specialized magic training.
