Chapter 53 - Spatial Perception

Megumi Kato's emotional regulation was quite impressive; she recovered in just a moment. Seeing this, Ren Isana went over, picked up the Magic Stones, and handed them to Asuna.

Once everyone had finished gathering the loot, the group continued on their way. Meanwhile, Ren began to study his newly acquired talent, [Spatial Perception]. *This teacher's sensory ability is actually pretty good.*

However, in his hands, this talent was like turning on a map hack. It was absolutely absurd, but at the same time, incredibly helpful to Ren.

As it stood, his perception range was about a kilometer. As his strength improved, the range would likely expand. He just didn't know how this range would scale once he broke through to the next level.

Would it double? Or multiply several times over? The thought filled Ren with anticipation. *This talent would be perfect for an archer. An archer with a god's-eye view... just thinking about it is thrilling.*

However, in Ren's hands, it could only be used for sensory purposes. *Wait, was this talent learned passively? Just like Megumi Kato's?*

*If that's the case, does that mean if someone's talent affects me, I'll automatically learn it after a certain period of time?*

It seemed that if he suddenly and inexplicably learned a certain talent in the future, he would be able to immediately pinpoint the person using it. Right now, Ren essentially possessed a radar.

Within a one-kilometer radius, if he inexplicably acquired a talent, he could just lock onto the target directly. Sensing his surroundings, Ren spotted the teacher who was the source of this talent.

He had noticed the teacher, but the other party hadn't realized Ren was sensing him. In other words, the sensory talent he had acquired was likely already superior to the original!

Ren also knew the man's identity—his predecessor's biology teacher. He just hadn't expected the man to possess such a talent. According to the memories he inherited, it was no wonder the teacher could always catch students making little movements during class.

There was a reason for it all. Because of this talent, the students in the classroom had nowhere to hide from his gaze. No wonder he caught them every single time. It was truly absurd.

While pondering these matters, Ren suddenly furrowed his brows. Within his perception, the two paths at the fork ahead began to change. Monsters were spawning.

"Prepare for battle!" Ren's voice rang out abruptly. Hearing his words, Megumi and the others froze for a moment, but Ren had already drawn his weapon.

"Monsters have appeared in the two passages ahead. There's a lot of them, so be careful," Ren said before quickly striding forward.

Asuna and the others exchanged glances, immediately drew their weapons, and quickly followed. By the time they reached the fork Ren had mentioned, a pack of gray wolves charged straight out of the two passages.

With crimson eyes locked onto the group of four, glaring as if looking at their mortal enemies, the wolves lunged at Ren and his party like mad beasts.

*Awooo!* Howls echoed throughout the Dungeon. Taking the lead, Ren gripped his Tang Dao and charged right into the middle of the wolf pack.

As the wolf cubs rushed forward, they immediately scattered, pouncing at Ren from all directions. At this moment, the corners of Ren's mouth curled up slightly. *Perfect. I can test out that move.*

Ren assumed a sword-drawing stance. The True Qi surging within his body rapidly coated the Tang Dao. The next moment, he drew the blade, and a white wave of sword aura erupted from the Tang Dao in his hand.

This white sword aura formed an arc and swept forward. The wolves pouncing toward Ren were the first to be hit.

The white sword aura sliced the mid-air wolves cleanly in half at the waist. This scene left Asuna and the others, who had just caught up, completely dumbfounded.

*What the hell is that? A draw slash? Does a draw slash have that kind of power? Or is this the result of externalizing True Qi?*

Watching Ren's white sword aura sweep past, the lunging wolves were instantly cleared out. Perhaps sensing the danger, some of the wolves that hadn't been caught in the blast dropped flat to the ground.

Only after Ren's sword aura grazed past their heads did these wolves resume their attack.

Although the sword aura was dodged, its power remained undiminished. It ultimately crashed into the Dungeon walls, leaving behind a continuous, deep gash.

Seeing his idea succeed, Ren felt quite pleased. Facing the wolves charging at him once again, he reined in his thoughts and began to fight in earnest.

The strength of these wolves was generally at Tier 1. To put it bluntly, they were no different from ordinary wild beasts in the outside world. Ren, on the other hand, was already at Tier 4.

A Tier 4 fighting Tier 1s—wasn't this just an absolute slaughter? Under the reaping strikes of Ren's Tang Dao, the charging wolves were dispatched effortlessly, one strike at a time.

Although Asuna and the others had been startled by Ren's draw slash a moment ago, they quickly snapped back to reality. With the four of them cooperating, the dozens of wolves were swiftly massacred to the last.

They left behind only a pile of Magic Stones to prove they had ever been there. Aside from the Magic Stones, it seemed they had also dropped materials this time?

The battle ended. Ren's gaze fell upon a few items that had dropped among the Magic Stones. Feeling somewhat surprised, he said, "Materials dropped? Teeth and claws?"

Saying this, Ren stepped forward and picked up the items from the ground. Asuna and the others followed suit, their eyes landing on the objects Ren had retrieved.

"They really are materials. I didn't expect such a harvest," Asuna said, a flash of surprise in her eyes as she looked at the drops. The amount of loot this time was quite substantial.

Aside from two teeth and one claw, there were also five Magic Stones. The quantity was already considered quite good.

"Pack them up, pack them up. Once we get out, we'll sell everything and then distribute the profits," Ren said, handing the items over to Asuna.

Seeing this, Asuna smiled faintly. She opened her spatial backpack, allowing Ren to place the items inside. Once that was handled, the group continued their journey.

Since there were no other squads around them anymore, Ren simply chose one of the paths and walked in. He didn't know what lay at the end of this path, but he was very clear that the other path looped back around.

As they pressed on, everyone quickly noticed the difference between the first and second floors. The monster spawn rate on the second floor was noticeably faster than on the first.

Furthermore, it wasn't long before Ren and his party encountered squads of other classmates. Upon meeting, these students naturally merged into Ren's group, and they continued advancing together.

However, for the monsters they encountered from then on, whoever got the kill kept the loot. Ren couldn't be bothered to squabble with them over such matters, so he established the rule right then and there.

Faced with Ren's proposal, no one had any objections. Relying on one's own abilities was perfectly fine—it was completely fair!

Power Stones, reviews, and comments— really helps a lot
