Chapter 243 - Chapter 243: Your Helpers Seem to Ignore You

Su Qian watched his opponent, who appeared ready to fight to the death, and his expression grew extremely solemn. His gaze swept subtly toward the other battlefields.

The Gold and Silver Elders pressed their bodies together, shouting in unison, "Old Su, go to hell!"

The auras of their bodies merged, and a powerful pressure bore down upon Su Qian. He assumed a fighting stance, continuously condensing Dou Techniques in his hands. Just as the battle was about to erupt, the Gold and Silver Elders suddenly shot outward toward the edges of the Academy, moving as fast as lightning.

Everyone stared at the Gold and Silver Elders' actions, a flock of crows flying over their heads. I took off my pants for this? They acted as though they were about to fight to the death, then turned and ran in the next breath. It was utterly unbelievable.

Su Qian reacted quickly, immediately using his movement technique to give chase. But the opponents' Dou Qi was fused. Perhaps due to the "weakest Dou Zong" buff, Su Qian simply could not catch up.

"Su Qian, give it up. You cannot catch me! Hahaha!"

"Old Su, there is no need to see us off. You are far too slow."

Seeing that Su Qian, despite using his full strength, still could not close the distance, the Gold and Silver Elders mocked him, hoping to enrage him and disrupt his Dou Qi circulation. At their words, Su Qian's face flushed crimson with a mixture of fury and shame. The shift in his mental state caused his speed to slow by a fraction.

"You motherf—!"

"Quick! Brake! Stop!"

Right after mocking Su Qian, the Gold and Silver Elders turned their heads to continue their mad dash—only to find a massive wall of water materializing directly before them. They frantically tried to halt their bodies, but their speed was simply too great. Braking was not so simple, especially at such short distance.

Bang! Bang!

Two dull, sickening thuds of flesh hitting solid wall echoed across the sky. One could tell immediately by the sound—it wasn't good. Not crisp enough. They needed more practice. The water wall looked like it was made of water, but in truth, it was far harder than stone, and it also possessed the adhesive pull of a powerful current.

"Glub, glub, glub!"

The Gold and Silver Elders were plastered directly onto the water wall, their faces submerged, the sound of drowning gurgling from their throats.

Su Qian halted in the air, watching the two flail helplessly, and let out a long sigh of relief. If these two escaped, it would be trouble. With the current strength of the Inner Academy, if they plotted in secret, no one besides himself would be able to withstand them.

The water wall gradually dissipated, and the Gold and Silver Elders, now completely soaked, gasped desperately for air in the sky. Just as the two prepared to flee once more, a deep blue figure materialized before them. Feeling the surging Eight-Star Dou Zong aura radiating from the newcomer, their hearts instantly turned to ash.

Wen Yan raised his hand. Behind Gold Robe, Silver Robe's eyes flashed with ruthless calculation. Without a shred of hesitation, he slammed a heavy palm directly into Gold Robe's back. The Gold Robe elder had never imagined—not in his wildest dreams—that his own brother, with whom he had spent so many years, would ambush him from behind. Utterly unprepared, he was sent hurtling toward Wen Yan like a cannonball.

After the strike, Silver Robe immediately circulated every last drop of his Dou Qi and fled into the distance. "I curse your whole family, you—" The Gold Robe elder's eyes were wide with disbelief as he spat blood and cursed. But before he could finish, Wen Yan struck him in the chest with a palm. His body shot toward the ground, blood pouring from his mouth in an endless stream.

The others heard the Gold Robe elder's curse and could not help but smile. *Isn't his whole family your whole family?*

Silver Robe ignored Gold Robe's words entirely, focused only on escape. But he hadn't flown far when a figure in red appeared directly in his path and drove a kick into him. A long, devastatingly beautiful leg connected squarely with his body. The unprepared Silver Robe was sent flying backward like a kicked ball, eventually catching up to the Gold Robe elder. He crashed, at last, right next to Han Feng.

The one who had delivered that kick was none other than Queen Medusa.

Han Feng stared at the two broken, disheveled figures before him. Gold Robe's chest had already caved inward; he looked barely clinging to life. Silver Robe was in a similar state. Seeing his final helper fall as well, Han Feng's expression twisted into something even uglier. He cursed Earth Demon Old Ghost endlessly in his heart—the wretch had taken his benefits and never once shown his face.

Earth Demon Old Ghost: *You'll see me when you come down.*

Han Feng swept his gaze over the Jia Nan Academy elders and the unfamiliar Dou Zong experts who had encircled him and his remaining allies. Finally, his eyes landed on Bai Ya, circling in the sky with his massive serpentine body. He recognized him—the Eight-Winged Black Serpent Emperor of Heavenly Serpent Mansion.

"I never imagined your Heavenly Serpent Mansion would involve itself with Jia Nan Academy."

"I am no longer part of Heavenly Serpent Mansion. Do not try to pin that on me." Bai Ya looked at Han Feng with open disdain. He had long disliked Han Feng, who had even caused trouble for him in the past.

Han Feng heard his words and stared at Bai Ya with a puzzled expression, convinced the serpent was merely trying to distance himself to prevent Heavenly Serpent Mansion from becoming a target of the Black-Corner Region.

"Who exactly are you people?" Han Feng demanded, looking at Medusa, Wen Yan, and the others gathered before him.

"Who we are is something a dead man like you has no need to know. You can take your questions to hell. And do not think your little tricks went unnoticed. We have been aware of them all along. It seems, however, that your helper has no intention of bothering with you."

Xiao Tian stepped forward, looking directly at Han Feng, and spoke with a faint smile. Han Feng's face stiffened. His hands, hidden from view, paused their subtle movements. He had indeed been trying to contact Protector Xuan of the Hall of Souls, but every attempt had been like a stone sinking into the sea.

Han Feng cursed inwardly, remembering how boastful Protector Xuan had been, claiming he could resolve any problem as long as Han Feng met his conditions. He was still unwilling to abandon this last sliver of hope. He knew that with his current strength, escape from four Dou Zongs and a host of Dou Huangs and Dou Kings was impossible.

"I can agree to all of your conditions! I can even give you the Heavenly Flame in my possession! Just save me!" In his desperation, Han Feng finally gambled everything and shouted into the empty air.

But aside from the people around him staring in confusion, nothing happened.

"Has this Medicine Emperor gone mad?" someone murmured.

"I doubt it. Perhaps he had other backup plans, but seeing our lineup, they probably fled long ago."

Waves of discussion rippled through the crowd, and every word struck Han Feng's heart like a hammer blow.

Xiao Tian knew that the reinforcements Han Feng was calling for were the protectors of the Hall of Souls. Because of this, he had altered his original plan. He intended to employ a different method. For the moment, he had simply instructed Xiao Yi Xian to seal off the surrounding void entirely. The Hall of Souls protector would find escape impossible.
