Chapter 127 - Fall of Attilan

"No!" The Inhuman royal family could not imagine that the king who had just been displaying such overwhelming power would be riddled with bullets in the next moment. Blood and brain matter slowly seeped from the holes, and the strong, unpleasant stench of blood constantly assaulted their minds, as if a whole chili pepper had been stuffed into their nasal cavities—sharp, pungent, and terrifying...

Without Black Bolt, a man with wide-range AOE abilities, it would be impossible for the others to defeat these fearless monsters.

Karnak instantly sensed the huge and brutal malice rising from the enemy, like soldiers blowing horns as they led countless cavalrymen to charge toward their target.

"Stop them!" As Black Bolt's cousin, Karnak should have acted as the commander of the entire battlefield when the queen was not present, temporarily taking over the king's responsibilities.

He shouted, and the other members around him also displayed their unique abilities, letting the intruders know that Attilan was not something anyone could bully.

Crystal controlled the surrounding elements—water, fire, air, and earth—forming them into different shapes: needles, boulders, fireballs, waves... all attacking the army below.

Gorgon roared angrily, tore off his clothes, and fixed his eyes on the climbing Thing, charging toward him like a ferocious black bear.

After falling from the high wall, the solid muscles of his legs slammed into the ground. The seismic waves knocked down the infected around him, and his powerful physique gave him the ability to compete with the Thing.

Maximus stood hesitantly on the wall. Even the dog beside him rushed down to fight Logan, but he hesitated.

"We can't defeat them..." Maximus said with a dark expression. Instead of jumping down from the high wall, he commanded the surrounding Attilan guards to fight the infected.

The hellish fighter was still circling overhead. Maximus raised his air-pressure cannon and pointed it at the demon flying in the sky, wanting to pull the trigger and avenge his foolish brother.

But the enemy had more than one person capable of flight.

The Human Torch rushed directly toward the city wall, his burning arms tightly restraining Maximus's shoulders. The inertia from his flight carried them both into the city, where they crashed heavily to the ground.

"Max!" Karnak shouted, but he had no way to support him. He could barely protect himself now. The bullets pouring down from the hellish fighter forced him to roll behind cover, but hellfire would not pity the weak. Like fluttering snow, the burning rain fell and spread wildly at Attilan's gate.

Medusa protected the Inhuman residents inside the city. Triton followed the river, sending the Inhumans bit by bit toward Attilan's rear gate, an emergency shelter that crossed beneath the mountains and ocean, where a huge submersible ship was parked.

That was Medusa's escape route, and the reason she had asked Triton to stay behind.

Triton could not leave the water without wearing a special respirator. This man was born to live in the water, and the sea was his destination.

But he had desperately wanted to stay in his own country, so he had dug a tunnel to the Atlantic Ocean. Unexpectedly, it had become a refuge for the Inhumans.

Boom!

Whoosh!

Blazing flames destroyed a large number of houses. Maximus was unable to stop this burning man. His thoughts were chaotic and disorderly, like those of a death row prisoner trapped in a scarlet prison. The thick iron door could not be broken through at all. Maximus was like a fragile child, insignificant before the red giant. With just a slight twist of its fingers, his mind and soul seemed as if they would collapse easily.

"Ah!" Maximus's body landed heavily in front of Medusa. At the same time, two burning figures slowly descended.

Ghost Rider and the Human Torch faced the queen openly, their cold smiles spreading along with the red mist. This group of Inhumans also had decent combat power. Compared with ordinary infected people, their strength was indeed impressive.

Wanda wanted to expand her team, including civilians, turning them into machines that would work endlessly for her.

"Hand over the Mind Stone, and I might consider leaving Attilan as a memory. Perhaps hundreds of years later, wind and sand will bury it, but that will be a matter for the future."

Robbie took a step forward and tried to persuade the queen to surrender. He was a messenger of hell, but that did not mean he could deprive anyone of life at will. The world of yin and yang needed balance. This was true for both hell and the world. Mephisto had never thought of completely destroying humanity, because that would lead to the collapse of the universe.

"You shouldn't have come. Attilan will always live in our hearts. As for the Mind Stone..." Medusa sneered. "I hid it underground in Attilan. If you want it, you'll have to turn this place upside down!"

"Fine... then so be it."

The hellish chains swung violently toward the woman. The Human Torch flew into the air, and the two of them fought Medusa together.

As the queen of the Inhumans, Medusa's strength could not be underestimated. She could extend her hair at will and even control its movement, turning it into a weapon harder than steel. Even if it was cut, she could still control it through a mysterious connection.

Medusa did not often appear in the public eye, while the Human Torch was a popular hero who often flew above the city. Everyone knew his abilities, but Medusa was well hidden, and not many people knew the true usefulness of her hair.

This boy, passionate as flames, was pierced in half by hair as hard as steel and skewered like barbecue. The smell of roasted meat assaulted the nose. The flames flickered out, and when the hair was pulled away, fragments of viscera dripped from his abdomen.

The Human Torch's fire went out.

"Damn it!" Robbie did not mourn his companion's death. They would meet again in hell. Instead, it was Medusa's strength that surprised him.

He had thought Black Bolt was the only one worth noticing among the entire Inhuman race, but he had not expected this woman's strength to be far from weak. That hair could pierce his own bones and was fiercer than bullets.

Medusa watched this skeleton warily. The flames on his body were far more vicious and fierce than those of the Human Torch.

"Johnny Blaze? I've heard of you. Midnight Sons. Has your team disbanded?"

"It's Robbie Reyes. Johnny is dead."

"How ridiculous. The man who climbed out of hell was sent back again. You'll end up the same, won't you?"

"Maybe..." Robbie did not deny Medusa's words. Humans would die. This was a natural law and could not be resisted. Even if he was the Ghost Rider, one day he would still pass on the inheritance. His soul no longer belonged to him. From the moment he became the Ghost Rider, he no longer lived for himself, but became a slave whose soul was occupied by another.

Medusa smiled mockingly, but the corner of her eye glanced toward the door behind her. The Inhuman residents were behind that door, being sent away from Attilan one by one by Triton.

Boom, boom, boom!

Finally, the broken body of an Attilan guard was thrown inside. His head struck the ground hard and rolled to Medusa's side like a ball.

The queen's heart sank, and she stretched her neck to look at the distant gate. A group of people appeared there, red wrapped around their bodies until it was impossible to tell whether it was mist or blood.

Logan showed a bloodthirsty smile, dragging a huge mangy dog with his steel claws, leaving countless scars across its flesh.

Gorgon's head was held in the Thing's palm, as if he wanted to challenge Medusa. Gorgon's head exploded like a watermelon smashed against the ground, red pulp splattering outward.

The same was true for Karnak. His limbs were broken, and Dr. Lizard's cold tail wrapped tightly around him. He lowered his head in a daze, having lost the ability to move.

"Stop them!" Medusa ordered. A large number of Attilan guards rushed out again, pointing their weapons at the group of invaders. This was Attilan's last fighting force. Hundreds of soldiers had already died outside. For most of them, the firepower of the hellish fighter alone was enough to crush these weaker warriors.

Of course, the number of infected had also been greatly reduced. Under Black Bolt's single word, nearly two hundred of the original five hundred had been easily crushed. Many of the remaining ordinary infected had also been killed by Attilan's soldiers, leaving only a little over a hundred.

The numbers on both sides were roughly equal, but their strength was not.

Medusa's beautiful yet ferocious face stared coldly at the group of intruders. Her two-meter-long red hair flew wildly behind her. She breathed heavily, and her brows twisted tightly.

As if she had made up her mind, Medusa pulled down half the hair behind her and lightly blew through her red lips. The long hair instantly straightened and shot toward the enemy like steel needles.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Thin, hard strands pierced through the brains of the group. Only the Thing's brain remained indestructible. As a man capable of facing the Hulk head-on, he was the powerhouse of the Fantastic Four. Carrying guns, bullets, fire, and steel-needle hair, he resolutely rushed into the group of guards and wiped one of them out with a single punch.

Without the royal family members, the Inhumans were vulnerable and had no power to stop them. They were all killed within ten minutes.

Soon, only Medusa was left with the ability to fight.

"Triton?" the queen called softly, and received Triton's affirmative reply.

Medusa felt relieved. The civilians had been sent out.

"My queen, come here. Get on the ship..." Triton's weak voice came from behind the door, calling anxiously for the queen to escape with them.

"Goodbye... Triton..." Medusa smiled calmly, looking at Robbie, Logan, and the others gradually surrounding her without any fear in her heart. She should leave with her king.

Medusa ignored Triton's restraint behind her and watched the hellish chain heading straight for her. The queen stretched out her hair and tangled it with the chain burning with hellfire. But in the end, a man's strength could not be compared so easily. Medusa was pulled in front of Robbie, who strangled her neck.

"Your hair is beautiful!" Robbie's empty eyes showed no emotion. Burning hellfire clung to Medusa's hair, and the scorching sensation assaulted her scalp. Pain and humiliation filled Medusa's heart.

"Rapunzel, it seems your prince didn't come." Robbie sneered. The bones of his upper and lower jaws collided with each other, and the eyes of hell appeared within the white-and-black skull.

"Penance Stare!"

Robbie used this skill. He wanted to completely defeat the queen of Attilan at the level of her soul.

"Is there anyone else?" Logan's beast-like sense of smell did not detect any trace of living people here. Aside from the dead soldiers, the rest seemed to have vanished into thin air.

"There's no other way out here."

"Maybe there is..." The Thing punched through the wall behind Medusa and stuck his large head inside. Sure enough, there was a secret passage filled with water.

"What a pity." Robbie turned to look at the woman, his evil eyes flashing with ghostly fire. He pulled Medusa toward himself and gently stroked her charred bald head. Not even her scalp had been left untouched. It was stained with blood, dripping down her cheek to the ground.

Robbie increased his strength and asked viciously, "Where is the Mind Stone...?"

"It's buried underground. If you want to find it, you'll have to overthrow Attilan!"

Medusa responded without hesitation. Even after losing her hair and the ability to protect herself, she was still proud of Attilan.

"Kill her!" Dr. Lizard swayed forward, his forked tongue making a hissing sound. Disgusting mucus sprayed onto Medusa's face, and she could even feel Dr. Lizard licking her skin.

Robbie also felt that Medusa was of no further use. Now that he knew the location of the Mind Stone, there was no reason to keep her.

Medusa spat blood onto Robbie's face, but her eyes were firm and refused to admit defeat.

None of them wanted to keep watching this woman. Robbie's body suddenly ignited with flames, and they spread onto Medusa's body. The searing pain was unbearable, and the woman began to cry out in agony.

Rumble!

At the critical moment, the roar of an engine suddenly sounded above everyone's heads, like a drummer blasting away at a rock concert, every strike of the sticks pounding against their hearts.

Everyone looked up and saw a stealth fighter slowly reveal itself beneath the sun, like a chameleon suddenly appearing. A triangular-headed viper hidden among dead leaves stared viciously at its prey.

They recognized the identity of this fighter. There was a large "X" mark on it that could not be erased. When Logan saw that mark, his head suddenly hurt. It was as if some proud and wild presence inside his mind was about to return.

"Shoot them!" Cyclops Scott opened his glasses, and a condensed beam of extremely high-temperature light pierced the sky. In the blink of an eye, it penetrated Dr. Lizard's brain. The smell of roasted flesh spread, but this was not a meal for hungry men. These were soldiers, and the people on the fighter were soldiers too. The soldiers from both sides were meeting on the battlefield.

"Don't go down. Attack from the fighter!"

Renzo jumped up, ignoring Scott's shouts behind him, and smashed straight into the crowd. The impact alone shattered the infected around him like porcelain dolls thrown into a blender—utterly fragile.

Looking at the heroes in front of him, or perhaps the people who could once have been called heroes, Renzo had no intention of softening his heart. The vast number of corpses outside lay right before his eyes, and he had no reason to hesitate.

They were beyond saving.
