Being twenty two and being a wife wasn't something I'd dreamed of but, that was the best I could get in this city. I'd grown up in the country side all my life and had come to the city when my grandparents died. Trying to start a new life. Meeting up with Dylan Black, a CEO of a big tech company was never part of the plan.
We'd been married happily for an year up until his mistress and childhood friend came to the picture. Rose was the picture of elegance and Everything a man would want in a woman. So when he put me to the side and chose her over me it wasn't much of a big deal though I was heart I stayed quiet.
Not like I could say anything. I didn't have a job or anywhere I could run to. Dylan had blocked any source of income I could get.
CHAPTER TWO; DIVORCE
It was my birthday and like usual Dylan would let me celebrate it. Getting ready for the party I hadn't noticed Rose at the doorway up until I heard her voice.Rose: you know you really do have a knack for forcing things. Turning around I looked at her wondering where that came from. "What do you mean?" I asked turning to face her.
Rose; "I mean you sticking around pining for Dylan, when he's made it clear who he wants." LYLA:"He's my husband, am I supposed to leave because he has some mistress?" Rose:" Maybe you should, because I'm the one he loves not you."
Watching her turn and walk away I leaned back on my seat. Yeah maybe I should have left long ago infact. I didn't know what had happened downstairs but when I heard a scream I run out of my room going to see what was going on. Only to find Rose at the bottom of the stairs writhing in pain.
Watching her lay there I couldn't think straight and I happened to be a second too late to help when Dylan stepped through the front door finding her there.
Dylan's pov
Finding rose there was the last thing I expected to see when I walked in. I rushed towards her watching her pale face as she pointed up the steps where Lyla stood. "What did you do?" I asked Lyla while carrying Rose towards the door not waiting for a response.
Rose was supposed to be my responsibility. I had promised my mom before she died and even though I had married Lyla that didn't stop me from taking care of Rose. She was my duty and I planned on fulfilling it. Calling out to the driver I placed her gently in the back seat then got in driving towards the hospital. Already making necessary phone calls to my private doctor.
Lyla's pov.
I hadn't expected her to fall leave alone point at me. I hadn't pushed her. Afraid of what Dylan might do I went to my room and started parking. I'd seen his anger first hand when he slapped me for questioning him about Rose. I wasn't going to stick by to know what he'd do now.
Grabbing my phone and bag I dragged the suitcase down the steps but was stopped by the butler at the door. He handed me a file saying it had come in earlier but hadn't got the time to give it to me. Opening it I found divorce papers inside. Wait Dylan was planning on divorcing me.
Well I was leaving after all it was no use trying to stay where I wasn't needed. Going to his study I grabbed a pen from his desk signing the papers. Then closed the folder walking out of the room heading to the door. I was done with this
