Chapter 82 - The Third Hokage’s Trap — Minato’s Surprise and Curiosity

Inside the spatial ring, Shiro Akira froze after reading the cultivation method for the Flying Thunder God Technique.

"This thing actually involves sealing techniques?"

Wasn't this a damn trap?

He didn't know sealing techniques, so how was he supposed to learn it?

He was blocked at the very first step.

"The Third Hokage clearly knows this requires sealing techniques, so why didn't he prepare some for me?"

Shiro Akira felt that the Third Hokage was definitely trying to trick him.

It didn't even require particularly advanced sealing techniques. Only some mid- and low-level, relatively basic sealing techniques were needed to complete the creation of the spatial coordinate formula.

He did not believe the Third Hokage didn't know this.

At the same time, he also understood why Minato could learn the Flying Thunder God Technique. Because he had Kushina, who came from the Uzumaki clan and possessed a large number of sealing technique inheritances, by his side.

"Looks like I'll either have to ask the Third Hokage, or I can only ask Sister Tsunade for help!"

Shiro Akira rubbed the space between his brows with a headache.

If he asked the Third Hokage, would he owe him another favor?

Damn it…

What a scammer.

Immediately, Shiro Akira could only leave the spatial ring. Then he bit his finger and slapped his hand onto the ground.

"Summoning Technique!"

"Bang!"

A cloud of smoke exploded, revealing a blue-backed, mostly white slug with a mucus-like appearance.

That's right. It was a slug.

This was the contract he had signed back when he was learning medical ninjutsu under Tsunade, and Tsunade had forcibly required it.

Actually, he did not really like slugs.

They were like giant snails, sticky and slimy, a little… you know…

"Hm? It's Lord Shiro Akira. Did you summon me for something?"

After the slug appeared, it sensed the situation around it, discovered Shiro Akira, and asked gently.

Its voice was actually quite pleasant, carrying a somewhat ethereal feeling.

"Ahem! Well…"

Shiro Akira cleared his throat and said to the little slug, "I'd like you to help me contact Sister Tsunade. Tell her that I received the Flying Thunder God Technique rewarded by the Third Hokage, but I don't have the matching sealing techniques, so I can't even get started. I want to ask whether Sister Tsunade has some basic mid- and low-level sealing technique books. Is that possible?"

As he spoke, Shiro Akira did not forget to slander the Third Hokage a little.

"Of course, no problem!"

The slug nodded. "Is that all, Lord Shiro Akira?"

"Yes! That's all! I'll trouble you, Katsuyu!"

Shiro Akira thanked it.

"You're too polite, Lord Shiro Akira! Then I'll be going!"

Katsuyu happily waved its two antennae. With a bang, it returned to Shikkotsu Forest. After touching the main body of Katsuyu, the memory exchange was completed.

Then this little Katsuyu was transported by Katsuyu Sage to Tsunade's side, far away in Konoha's camp on the Sand Ninja battlefield.

Clearly, Tsunade had a special technique mark left by Katsuyu Sage on her body.

"Hm?"

Seeing this little Katsuyu appear, Tsunade froze. "Katsuyu? Did something happen?"

"Lady Tsunade, Lord Shiro Akira has something to ask of you."

Then Katsuyu repeated Shiro Akira's request.

After Tsunade finished listening, she angrily smashed the table beside her with a slap. "What is that old man thinking? He gave him the ninjutsu but didn't give him the matching sealing techniques. Isn't this deliberately scamming him?"

"When I get back, I'll definitely have a proper argument with him. He's bullying people too much!"

Speaking of which, the Flying Thunder God Technique had been donated to the village for free by her Second Grandfather.

"Katsuyu, wait a moment. I'll go find Minato. He happens to be here, and he should have some."

Tsunade said this to Katsuyu, then quickly left the camp hospital.

She herself actually had sealing techniques, and even advanced ones, but who would carry those around with them?

They were all left at home, sealed using special methods.

Or she had placed them in Shikkotsu Forest.

The mid- and low-level sealing technique books were clearly not in Shikkotsu Forest. Otherwise, there would be no need for this trouble.

Before long, Tsunade found Minato, who had just recently returned from a mission, in the commander's tent and directly explained her purpose.

"Oh?"

When Minato heard this, his eyes lit up slightly. "Lord Hokage actually rewarded Lady Tsunade's disciple, Akira-kun, with the Flying Thunder God Technique?"

"That's rather interesting. It seems the village may have another person who masters the Flying Thunder God Technique! That's a good thing."

He did not mind this at all. In fact, he wished more people in the village could learn it.

Ideally, they could often exchange insights on the Flying Thunder God Technique. That would be even better.

Groping around alone all the time was quite frustrating.

Although the technique had been created by the Second Hokage, it was still far from complete and detailed enough.

The Second Hokage had died too early.

"Heh!"

Hearing this, Tsunade smiled faintly. "You seem to have quite a lot of confidence in him. Whether he can learn it is still another matter. I know how difficult this technique is. The key lies in spatial perception talent and extraordinary neural reaction speed. Both are indispensable."

"Without the former, one can't learn it. Without the latter, even if one learns it, it can only be used for traveling."

Trying to use it in battle would be wishful thinking.

Minato was undoubtedly top-tier in both these aspects.

Minato nodded in agreement. "Akira-kun should have no problem in terms of neural reaction speed. I heard about his feat of killing six Sand Jonin in one slash. That requires extremely terrifying reaction speed and dynamic vision. In this aspect, Akira-kun is undoubtedly qualified. Now it depends on his spatial perception talent."

Then Minato continued, "As for mid- and low-level sealing technique books, I didn't bring them with me either. I left them at home."

"It just so happens that I need to return to deliver some intelligence to Lord Hokage. I'll stop by and pick them up. When I return, I'll hand them to you, Lady Tsunade. Would that be alright?"

If he had time, he actually wanted to personally make a trip to the eastern battlefield camp and meet this super genius he had long heard about.

Jiraiya had mentioned Shiro Akira many times over the past half year.

He had also told Minato to work harder and be careful not to be surpassed by the younger generation, and so on.

It made Minato somewhat amused and helpless.

Teacher Jiraiya was still so competitive.

Actually, what he didn't know was that ever since Jiraiya had accepted him as a genius disciple, he had constantly brought Minato up in front of Tsunade and Orochimaru, praising and showing him off every time, almost blowing Minato's reputation to the sky.

This made both Tsunade and Orochimaru hold back some resentment in their hearts.

If Tsunade's disciple, Shiro Akira, surpassed Minato as a latecomer, wouldn't Jiraiya suffer a slap to the face?

At that time, who knew how Tsunade and Orochimaru would mock him?

So this matter absolutely could not be lost.

"That works! Then I'll trouble you!"

Tsunade nodded in satisfaction.

Jiraiya's disciple really was quite good, much better than Jiraiya.

In every sense.

"It's no trouble! Then I'll be leaving first, Lady Tsunade, Lord Orochimaru!"

Minato smiled and shook his head. After greeting Orochimaru and Tsunade, he used Flying Thunder God with a whoosh and disappeared from the spot.
