Chapter 29 - Color, Consequences, and One Unfair Truth

Scene 1: The Plan

Kriti stood in the room with a serious face.

Too serious.

That alone was a warning sign.

"I have created something unforgettable," she announced.

Mahi didn't look up from her laptop.

"That sounds like a mistake."

Kriti held up a small bottle.

Black color.

Washable.

Hopefully.

"Today," Kriti said proudly, "we make history."

Mahi finally looked at her.

"…Or regret."

Kriti leaned closer.

"Just help me a little."

Mahi hesitated.

She already knew how this would end.

Still—

"…Just a little."

Scene 2: The Execution

Morning arrived.

Everything looked normal.

Too normal.

Ayaan got ready as usual.

Unaware.

Calm.

Controlled.

He used the face wash.

The one Kriti had "improved."

Minutes later—

he walked out.

Kriti saw him first.

Froze.

Then covered her mouth.

Mahi looked up.

Paused.

Ayaan stood there—

perfectly dressed.

Perfectly calm.

Except—

his mouth were completely black.

Silence.

One second.

Two seconds.

Kriti broke first.

She burst out laughing.

Loud.

Uncontrolled.

"You look like—" she tried to speak between laughs,

"—like a failed painting—"

Mahi tried to stay calm.

She really did.

But a small smile escaped.

Scene 3: Ayaan's Reaction

Ayaan didn't react immediately.

He just looked at them.

Then turned.

Walked to the mirror.

He saw it.

A pause.

He washed his face.

Carefully.

Completely.

Then came back.

Clean.

Calm.

Silent.

That silence—

was more dangerous than anger.

Scene 4: The Consequence Begins

Kriti slowly stopped laughing.

"…It was harmless."

Mahi stayed quiet.

Ayaan walked toward them.

Steady steps.

Without warning—

he grabbed both their ears.

"OW—UNCLE—WHY ALWAYS EARS—"

Kriti complained instantly.

Mahi flinched slightly but didn't resist.

Ayaan said calmly,

"Because you both don't learn."

And then—

he walked.

Dragging them both toward the door.

Scene 5

He brought them outside.

Still holding their ears.

Kriti whispered loudly,

"This is humiliation."

Ayaan:

"Correct."

Mahi stood quietly.

Enduring it.

Ayaan released them.

Looked at both.

"You think this is entertainment?"

Kriti replied softly,

"…Yes?"

Ayaan looked at her.

Silence.

Kriti immediately corrected,

"No."

Scene 6: The Punishment

"Sit."

They sat.

Side by side.

Ayaan placed a pen between their fingers.

"Hold it."

Kriti blinked.

"What is this?"

Ayaan:

"Control."

Mahi held it properly.

Steady.

Kriti tried.

The pen dropped.

Ayaan:

"Start again."

Kriti groaned.

"This is finger torture."

Mahi:

"It's balance."

Kriti:

"It's betrayal."

Scene 7: More Punishment

Ayaan wasn't done.

"You also changed my schedule."

Both went silent.

"You will fix everything."

Kriti whispered,

"We're not surviving today."

Mahi replied softly,

"We will."

Scene 8: The Small Truth

Later—

after hours of fixing calls, schedules, and confusion—

they returned.

Exhausted.

Kriti dropped onto the sofa.

"I can't feel my brain."

The TV was on.

Their favorite show playing.

Both of them looked at it at the same time.

Same interest.

Same reaction.

Kriti pointed weakly,

"We deserve this."

They both started watching.

Quietly.

Scene 9: Ayaan's Subtle Difference

Ayaan walked in.

Looked at them.

"You're not done."

Kriti groaned,

"Please… five minutes."

Ayaan paused.

Looked at Mahi.

Then at Kriti.

"…Five minutes."

Kriti blinked.

Surprised.

As he walked away, she whispered,

"You always get better treatment."

Mahi didn't reply.

Scene 10: Ending

After the break—

they finished everything.

Finally.

Standing in front of Ayaan again.

Tired.

Silent.

"Done?" he asked.

Mahi nodded.

"Yes."

Kriti added,

"…Emotionally broken, but yes."

Ayaan looked at them.

"Don't repeat it."

Kriti sighed.

"We say that every time."

Mahi glanced at her.

"We still repeat it."

Kriti smiled weakly.

"Consistency is important."

Ayaan didn't respond.

But this time—

he didn't look as strict.

And as they walked away—

Kriti whispered,

"Next time… maybe blue color."

Mahi closed her eyes.

Some things…

never change.
