Chapter 74 - Nothing Left To Guess

Scene 1: Ayaan — Clarity Without Words

The room was quiet.

Too quiet.

Ayaan stood near the window, looking out—but not seeing anything outside.

His thoughts were elsewhere.

Not work.

Not strategy.

Her.

Moments replayed—

the corridor

the pause

the distance that never fully closed

He had stopped.

Every time.

Not because he couldn't continue.

But because he chose not to.

A slow breath.

"…This isn't hesitation."

The words came out low.

Clear.

"It's her."

For the first time—

Ayaan didn't question it.

Scene 2: Anaya — No More Doubt

Anaya sat quietly, her phone untouched beside her.

She wasn't reading.

Wasn't working.

Just… thinking.

Or maybe—

not thinking anymore.

Because the confusion she had earlier—

was gone.

Replaced by something simpler.

Something certain.

She remembered the theatre.

The way he stopped.

Not out of fear.

But intention.

A small smile appeared.

"…So that's what it is."

No denial.

No overthinking.

Just acceptance.

Scene 3: Ishaan & Mahi — A Different Kind of Silence

Morning light filtered through the balcony.

Mahi stood there, holding a cup she hadn't touched.

Ishaan stepped out.

"You're up early."

Mahi:

"You're earlier."

A pause.

Not awkward.

Comfortable.

Then she said quietly—

"You stay more than you need to."

Ishaan didn't respond immediately.

Didn't deny it.

Just looked at her.

"…I know."

No explanation.

No defense.

Just truth.

Mahi held his gaze.

And something settled.

Because she understood.

And this time—

she didn't look away first.

Scene 4: Kriti Thinks (Dangerous Situation)

Kriti sat unusually still.

Aditya noticed immediately.

"…Why are you quiet?"

Kriti:

"I'm thinking."

Aditya:

"That's not safe."

Kriti:

"I can think."

Aditya:

"That's new."

She ignored him.

But her eyes drifted toward him again.

Watching.

He was working.

Focused.

Calm.

Like always.

"…You're annoyingly stable," she muttered.

Aditya didn't look up.

"Thank you."

Kriti:

"That wasn't a compliment."

Aditya:

"It sounded like one."

She paused.

Then—

more quietly—

"…Why do you always stay calm?"

Aditya finally looked at her.

"Because someone here isn't."

Kriti opened her mouth—

then stopped.

Because again—

that look.

Steady.

Patient.

Like she wasn't a problem to fix.

Just… someone to stay with.

Kriti quickly looked away.

"…This trip is weird."

Aditya:

"You're the problem."

But his voice was softer this time.

Scene 5: Crossing Paths

Later—

everyone crossed paths in the hallway.

Normal.

Casual.

Ayaan spoke about work.

Anaya responded.

Ishaan stood beside Mahi.

Kriti talked too much.

Aditya tolerated it.

Nothing unusual.

And yet—

everything was.

Because now—

no one was guessing anymore.

Final Scene

Evening settled quietly.

Ayaan walked past Anaya.

Slowed.

Just slightly.

She noticed.

Their eyes met.

No words.

But this time—

no confusion either.

Across the floor—

Mahi stood beside Ishaan.

Closer than before.

Not intentionally.

Just naturally.

Kriti sat beside Aditya—

talking about something completely irrelevant.

But every now and then—

she glanced at him.

And didn't understand why.

But didn't ignore it either.

Nothing had been said.

No confessions.

No promises.

And yet—

nothing was uncertain anymore.
