Chapter 76 - Access

Scene 1: Return to Structure

The office was exactly as they had left it.

Organized. Predictable.

Kriti was the first to break that order.

She stood near Ayaan's desk, holding a stack of files—too carefully.

"…Everything is sorted," she said.

Ayaan glanced once.

"Timeline?"

Kriti straightened.

"Updated. Meetings aligned. Files reviewed twice."

Ayaan nodded.

"Good."

Simple.

But for Kriti—

that one word meant more than usual.

Scene 2: The Disruption

Aditya entered without knocking.

"We have a problem."

Kriti froze internally.

Of course we do.

Ayaan didn't react outwardly.

"Speak."

Aditya placed a tablet on the desk.

"Our internal report—final version—has been flagged."

Mahi frowned.

"For what?"

Aditya:

"Inconsistency."

Ishaan stepped closer.

"That report was locked."

Aditya nodded.

"It was."

A pause.

"After submission, something changed."

Silence.

Scene 3: The Point of Access

All eyes shifted—subtly.

Toward the desk.

Toward the files.

Toward Kriti.

She felt it.

"…Wait—why is everyone looking like that?" she said quickly.

Ayaan spoke—calm, direct.

"Kriti. You handled the final submission."

Her grip tightened on the files.

"Yes—but I didn't change anything."

Ayaan didn't raise his voice.

Didn't accuse.

"I didn't say you did."

A pause.

"I said you handled it."

That was worse.

Because it meant—

responsibility.

Scene 4: Ayaan & Anaya — Silent Alignment

Anaya stepped slightly forward.

"Let's not assume anything yet."

Her tone was steady.

"We check access logs first."

Ayaan nodded once.

"Agreed."

Their eyes met briefly.

No words.

But the message was clear:

We handle this together.

Scene 5: Ishaan & Mahi — Trust Under Pressure

Ishaan was already reviewing system data.

"No external breach."

Mahi leaned in beside him.

"Then it's internal."

Ishaan didn't argue.

He simply said—

"Yes."

Mahi glanced at him.

"…You're sure about your checks?"

Ishaan looked at her.

No hesitation.

"Yes."

She nodded.

"Then I trust that."

A pause.

Ishaan didn't respond.

But something in his expression softened—

just slightly.

Scene 6: Kriti Under Pressure (Still Kriti)

Kriti exhaled sharply.

"…Okay, I just want to confirm one thing."

Aditya:

"No."

Kriti:

"I'm serious."

Aditya:

"That's rare."

Kriti ignored him.

"…No one actually thinks I sabotaged the company, right?"

Silence.

Aditya:

"No."

Kriti:

"That pause was suspicious."

Aditya:

"It wasn't a pause. It was disappointment."

Kriti:

"I feel attacked."

Despite everything—

a brief crack in tension.

But only briefly.

Scene 7: The Detail That Matters

Kriti turned back to the system.

This time—

not casually.

Carefully.

She checked timestamps.

Access logs.

File versions.

Her expression shifted.

"…Wait."

Everyone looked up.

"There's a gap here."

Aditya stepped closer.

"What kind of gap?"

Kriti pointed.

"The file was accessed… after I locked it."

Ishaan frowned.

"That's not possible without authorization."

Kriti shook her head.

"…It wasn't from my system."

A pause.

"…But it used my access credentials."

Silence dropped again.

This time heavier.

Scene 8: Ayaan Takes Control

Ayaan closed the file slowly.

"Someone used your access."

Kriti swallowed.

"…So I'm still involved."

Ayaan looked at her.

"Which means you help fix it."

Not blame.

Responsibility.

Clear.

Kriti straightened slightly.

"…Okay."

No jokes this time.

Final Scene: Pressure and Something More

The office didn't empty.

No one relaxed.

But something had changed.

Ayaan stood near the glass wall.

Anaya beside him.

"This isn't random," she said.

"No."

A pause.

"It's targeted."

Ayaan nodded.

"And we respond."

She looked at him.

Not just as a colleague anymore.

But as someone she chose to stand with.

Across the room—

Mahi and Ishaan worked side by side.

Closer than before.

No distance left to maintain.

Kriti sat at Ayaan's desk—

focused.

Seriously focused.

And Aditya watched—

quietly.

Not teasing this time.

Because for once—

she wasn't just chaos.

She was part of the solution.

It wasn't just a breach of access—

it was a test.

Of trust.

Of control.

And of everything they had just begun to feel.
