Chapter 88 - Chapter 88: The Broken Bathtub

"Baby, you're so good."

After their intimacy, Yennefer lay on Asa chest, whispering sweet nothings.

After the passion came the heart-to-heart talk. Since they were already naked, Asa decided to be completely honest.

Asa gently stroked her hair and asked:

"Where is that young lady from just now? Is she too shy to come out?"

Yennefer was startled and looked at Asa face:

"How... how did you know?"

"It's too obvious. The scent on both of you is exactly the same."

Before Yennefer could struggle to get up, Asa continued:

"I know the childhood version of you would be sad and frustrated because of this, but it's all in the past, isn't it? We're together now, isn't that enough?"

After a moment of silence, Yennefer took the initiative to lift the Transfiguration. The enchanting, black-haired beauty appeared before Asa, still wearing her black choker and star necklace.

Asa felt a slight stirring as a sign of respect.

Yennefer rolled her eyes at Asa. He said both versions were the same, but wasn't he actually more excited now?

"Do you... do you hate how I looked before?"

"No!"

Asa vowed, "Both are you. I love both the mature, confident you and the cute you!"

This answer satisfied Yennefer.

"Actually, after I was thirteen, Tissaia took me to the Isle of Thanedd. It's a paradise for Wizards..."

Leaning in Asa arms, Yennefer closed her eyes and slowly recounted her life since being abandoned by her family.

Asa listened quietly. Perhaps in Yennefer's eyes, they were old lovers who had known each other for over a decade, but for Asa, Yennefer was once a beloved character on a screen. Now that she was a real person, there was no lack of emotion despite the short time they had actually known each other.

How should he put it? Even if there was little emotion, they could always get to know each other more deeply in the future.

Feelings are never equal; what matters more is whether both parties can accept each other.

Add to that the fact that Asa was a responsible man who loved his home, and it was even more perfect.

Finally, Yennefer sighed and lamented:

"There are some things you are destined never to have, even with magic. And some gifts you are destined never to accept unless you can give something back—to return them with the same level of care. Otherwise, the gift will only slip through your fingers like melting ice, leaving behind only regret, loss, and guilt."

"I'm sorry, but even so, we still cannot be together."

She really sounded like a heartbreaker.

Yennefer said in a complex tone:

"After becoming a sorceress, one can no longer bear children. I will find you an ordinary human woman. After tonight, forget this relationship."

Perhaps the warmth of childhood should be buried in the deepest depths.

When she first arrived at the Magic Academy and heard that sorceresses were infertile, Yennefer hadn't cared at all.

It wasn't until she had just reached the heights of ecstasy that she suddenly wished for a young girl in the same situation as her, vowing to give her a wonderful childhood.

But it was too late now.

Sorcerers have no offspring; it is destined, perhaps the price for possessing abilities beyond those of ordinary people.

Even someone as powerful as the Elven Queen, Francesca, the most beautiful woman in the world, is the same.

"Don't be in such a hurry. Actually, there's something I haven't told you either,"

Asa said seriously, pressing down on Yennefer's breasts floating on the water's surface.
