The nursery suddenly felt too small
Scarlett was still holding the sleeping baby against her chest as her heart skipped a beat after what Jude just said
Jude looked away first and that alone surprised her
He stepped back abruptly because he regretted every word that just came out of his mouth
Scarlett looked at him carefully because a few minutes ago he was acting jealous, territorial, and angry
But he now looks vulnerable
Jude moved toward the nursery door without looking back at her
Then, he suddenly turned as he looked at her
"I don't want you to call Michael Gerard again", he said
Scarlett frowned immediately
"There you go again ….."
"I mean it. Don't call him again", he cut in
Scarlett watched him as he left the nursery before she finally caught her breath
The soft breathing of the twins filled the room
She looked down at the baby sleeping peacefully against her chest and closed her eyes briefly
"Hmmmmn….", she whispered to herself
