Jude looked stunned
"What did Violet say that she really wanted?", he asked
"She wanted you to believe that you had a child outside your marriage and in the process make you uncomfortable and maybe send your wife away", the woman said
Jude's hand slowly moved across his face
"So all these years...."
"Yes"
"All those threats?", he said
"Yes"
"And the thirty million pounds you just requested for?"
The woman paused a bit
"Well, that was my own demand", she said
Jude let out a bitter laugh
"At least you admit that", he said
"That's because I needed money urgently, as I told you"
"Wow! So you destroyed me thinking I made a huge mistake all my life", Jude said
"I know"
"And in the past day, you made me believe that I had a child with you"
The woman's voice became quieter
"You never wanted to hear me when I wanted to tell you all these years maybe you would have found out that Maxwell wasn't your child", she said
Jude stopped
