Chapter 50 - Chapter 50 — The Breaking of the Second Seal

CRRRRRRRACK.

The sound echoed across dimensions.

Not merely through the collapsing abyss beneath Valthorin—

but through forgotten realms, sealed heavens, abandoned sanctuaries, and ancient prisons hidden beyond mortal comprehension.

The second seal had broken.

Within the throne room drifting through eternal darkness, countless celestial chains trembled violently as another enormous fracture spread across the restraints binding the colossal black throne at the center of the void.

The shadowed figure standing before the throne slowly lifted its head.

The crimson glow within its eyes intensified.

Then—

it smiled.

"A little more…"

The surrounding darkness erupted like an endless storm.

Meanwhile, back within the abyssal chamber, chaos had completely consumed the battlefield.

The explosion unleashed from Kael's unstable awakening continued expanding outward in catastrophic waves, obliterating pillars, platforms, and ancient structures that had remained untouched for thousands of years, while violent black lightning surged uncontrollably across the underground world like dragons made of darkness.

The celestial sealing formation above the abyss flickered violently.

Several of the radiant figures maintaining the barrier coughed blood simultaneously.

"He's destabilizing the dimensional field!" one of them shouted.

The High Arbiter's expression finally darkened.

Kael floated above the shattered remains of the platform while streams of black energy spiraled around his body uncontrollably, distorting the surrounding space with increasing severity.

But something had changed again.

The darkness no longer obeyed smoothly.

It pulsed erratically.

Wildly.

As though two separate wills were fighting for control inside the same body.

Kael clutched his head with trembling hands.

Fragments of memory collided violently within his mind.

He saw himself standing beneath the rain as a child.

Then suddenly—

burning galaxies collapsing into infinite darkness.

He heard Seraphine's voice calling his name.

Then immediately—

the screams of celestial beings dying during the Sovereign War.

His thoughts fractured continuously.

"Stop…" Kael whispered painfully.

The voice inside him laughed softly.

"You are weakening."

"No…" Kael growled through clenched teeth.

"You cannot resist forever."

The black aura surged again.

BOOOOOOOM.

A massive shockwave erupted outward, instantly vaporizing several descending celestial chains before they could fully bind him.

The surrounding abyss cracked further apart.

Valdris immediately stepped backward.

"He's losing control," he warned sharply.

The High Arbiter remained focused upon Kael.

"No," the old man said quietly. "The Eclipse consciousness is forcing synchronization."

Seraphine's crimson eyes widened.

Forced synchronization.

If the fragmented Sovereign consciousness fully merged with Kael's soul—

Kael himself would cease to exist.

Only the Final Eclipse would remain.

The realization struck her like ice through the heart.

She moved instantly.

Ignoring the overwhelming pressure flooding the abyss, Seraphine leapt across the shattered platform toward Kael.

"Kael!" she shouted desperately.

The High Arbiter's eyes narrowed.

"Don't approach him!"

Too late.

The moment Seraphine reached Kael—

the darkness surrounding him reacted violently.

Gigantic shadow tendrils erupted outward instinctively like defensive beasts protecting their master.

They surged directly toward her.

Valdris's expression changed immediately.

"She's dead—"

Then—

the tendrils stopped.

Frozen inches from Seraphine's body.

Silence filled the abyss.

Kael trembled violently.

His black eyes flickered.

For a brief moment—

silver returned.

"Run…" he whispered weakly.

Seraphine stared at him silently.

The darkness around him twisted chaotically while blood streamed from his eyes.

"You're still there," she said quietly.

The voice inside him roared furiously.

"REMOVE HER."

The tendrils trembled violently again.

Yet they still did not move.

Seraphine slowly stepped closer despite the danger.

"Listen to me," she said firmly. "You are not the Eclipse."

Kael's expression distorted painfully.

"You don't understand…" he whispered hoarsely. "I can hear him inside my head…"

The surrounding darkness pulsed violently.

"…every second."

Fragments of foreign memories continued flooding his mind endlessly.

Wars.

Massacres.

Ancient cosmic thrones.

An existence so old and vast that ordinary human consciousness could barely withstand even fragments of it.

The voice spoke again.

"She is making you weak."

Kael grabbed his head painfully.

"STOP TALKING!"

BOOOOOOOM.

A catastrophic eruption of darkness exploded upward toward the sealing formation above.

Several celestial figures screamed as the black energy struck the barrier, corrupting sections of the silver light instantly.

The High Arbiter immediately raised both hands.

"Reinforce the seal!"

Thousands of glowing runes ignited across the sky simultaneously.

Gigantic chains descended once more.

Yet this time—

the darkness fought back intelligently.

The shadow surrounding Kael condensed rapidly into enormous humanoid figures resembling the Abyssal Sentinels, except vastly larger and more horrifying.

Shadow giants.

Each one radiated terrifying Sovereign Authority.

The celestial figures above recoiled.

The newly formed guardians roared silently before colliding directly against the descending chains.

BOOOOOOOOOOM.

The entire underground world shook violently.

Seraphine looked upward in horror.

The abyss could not survive much longer.

Reality itself was beginning to fracture.

Cracks appeared across the air like shattered glass, revealing glimpses of distant stars and endless void beyond dimensional space.

The High Arbiter saw it immediately.

"He's tearing open the boundary…"

Valdris's face paled.

If dimensional collapse occurred here—

not only Valthorin, but the surrounding kingdoms could vanish into the void between worlds.

The old man's expression hardened.

"We cannot allow further escalation."

For the first time since arriving, the High Arbiter released his full aura.

The effect was immediate.

The entire abyss froze.

Black lightning halted midair.

Falling debris stopped completely.

Even the unstable dimensional cracks ceased spreading.

Absolute suppression.

Authority powerful enough to dominate reality itself.

The celestial figures above immediately knelt.

Valdris lowered his head instinctively.

The High Arbiter slowly descended toward Kael while six radiant rings rotated behind him like divine laws made manifest.

"I had hoped to avoid this," he said quietly.

Kael slowly lifted his head.

The black eyes stared toward the old man hatefully.

The voice inside him hissed.

"Another pretender."

The High Arbiter stopped several meters away.

Then—

he extended one hand.

A single silver symbol appeared above his palm.

The moment it manifested—

the darkness surrounding Kael recoiled violently.

Even the Eclipse consciousness reacted.

For the first time—

fear emerged within the voice.

"That seal…"

The High Arbiter's silver eyes sharpened.

"Yes," he said calmly. "The Origin Seal."

The abyss trembled softly.

Ancient memories surfaced within Kael's fractured mind instantly.

A battlefield at the end of creation itself.

Twelve Sovereigns standing together beneath collapsing stars.

And at the center—

this symbol.

The very seal used to imprison the Final Eclipse originally.

The voice inside Kael roared furiously.

"YOU DARE USE THAT AGAIN?!"

BOOOOOOOOOOM.

The darkness exploded catastrophically.

Yet the High Arbiter remained unmoved.

He raised the glowing symbol higher.

Immediately, countless silver chains erupted from reality itself, far larger and more powerful than the previous sealing chains.

They wrapped around Kael instantly.

One arm.

Second arm.

Torso.

Wings.

The darkness fought violently.

Shadow giants shattered.

Black lightning detonated endlessly.

But the chains continued tightening.

Kael screamed in agony as the conflicting forces tore through both his body and soul simultaneously.

Seraphine's eyes widened.

If the Origin Seal fully activated—

it would not merely suppress the Eclipse.

It could erase Kael entirely.

She stepped forward instinctively.

But the High Arbiter spoke without turning.

"If you interfere now," he said quietly, "both the boy and the Sovereign fragment will awaken completely."

Seraphine froze.

Kael's body trembled violently within the chains.

His silver memories.

His human self.

They were fading beneath the endless darkness.

The voice whispered one final time.

"Then let us awaken together."

And deep within Kael's soul—

something ancient opened its eyes completely.
