Damien knocked once.
Caelan set his pen down.
"She sent a message," Damien said. "Twenty minutes ago. Encrypted channel, personal device. We don't have content. We have the recipient."
He placed a single sheet on the desk.
Caelan looked at it.
A name. A company. Two lines of context below it.
He read it once.
"How did you get this," he said.
"Her personal device connected to our building network this morning. Standard security logging." Damien's voice was even. "The encryption means we don't have content. But the recipient's digital footprint is public enough to identify."
Caelan looked at the name again.
Marcus Hale.
Hale Acquisitions.
Three months ago, Hale Acquisitions had made a quiet approach to two of Draxen Global's board members regarding a potential acquisition of the infrastructure division. The approach had been declined. The matter had been logged and filed and considered closed.
It had not been closed.
"She was approached three months ago," Caelan said.
