The moment I stepped into Velmora Royal Academy, something felt wrong.
There was tension in the air.
People were staring… whispering… pointing at me.
I lowered my head immediately.
"Nora… doesn't it feel weird today?" I asked quietly. "Why is everyone looking at me like that?"
"I think what happened yesterday is still a shock to them," Nora said. "Get ready for the attention, bestie."
"I don't like it…" I muttered.
"Well… there's nothing we can do."
Then—
"Oh no… here comes Kayla," Nora said, grabbing my hand. "Let's go!"
We tried to hurry away.
But it was too late.
They surrounded us.
Kayla and her minions.
"Going somewhere?" she said mockingly.
I lowered my head even more, trying to avoid her gaze.
"You," Kayla pointed at Nora. "Move away from her."
Nora hesitated. "I—"
"Are you trying to disobey Kayla?" one of the girls—Lucia—snapped.
Nora went quiet.
I looked at her and whispered softly, "It's okay… go."
She didn't want to leave… but she slowly stepped back.
Now I was alone.
The hallway felt heavier.
Students gathered, watching, whispering.
Some pitied me.
Some didn't.
"She deserves it…" someone said.
"How dare she get close to Prince Jaxon…"
"Everyone knows he belongs to Kayla…"
"The nerve you have," Kayla said coldly.
Before I could react—
She poured her chocolate drink all over me.
Cold… sticky…
Gasps filled the hallway.
Then she shoved me hard.
I fell to the ground.
"I'm going to teach you a lesson you'll never forget," she said.
"Girls… beat her."
And they did.
Hits.
Kicks.
Pain.
Everywhere.
I cried… begged… tried to protect myself…
But no one stepped in.
No one dared.
JAXON POV
I stepped out of my Ferrari like usual, calm and dominant.
Xavier and Derek were already waiting for me at the parking lot.
"What's up, dude?" Derek said.
"You're late," Xavier added. "What happened? Let me guess… you argued with the old man again?"
"It wasn't a fight," I said. "Just an argument."
Derek smirked. "Well… there's more trouble waiting for you."
I frowned. "What do you mean?"
Xavier looked at me.
"Your girl is being handled by Kayla."
My eyes darkened.
"What?"
"Go see for yourself."
I didn't wait.
I rushed inside.
And then I saw it.
Kayla.
Her girls.
And… her.
On the floor.
Chocolate all over her clothes.
Hair covering her face.
Trembling.
Terrified.
Something in me snapped.
I took a step forward—
Then stopped.
My father's words echoed in my head.
Stay away from unknown wolves… she could be dangerous.
I clenched my fist.
So I stood there.
Watching.
Unmoving.
Expressionless.
But inside—
I wasn't calm.
Not at all.
Then Kayla pushed her again.
"Beat her!" she shouted.
And they obeyed.
The way she cried…
The way she begged…
It did something to me.
Something I couldn't explain.
I've never felt this way before.
I was about to move—
But Xavier grabbed my arm.
"Don't," he warned.
AKALYA POV
The pain wouldn't stop.
They kept hitting me… kicking… stepping on me.
I couldn't breathe properly.
Then suddenly—
Something changed.
The pain… faded.
My heartbeat shifted.
Faster.
Stronger.
My body felt… different.
My eyes burned slightly.
Like something was trying to come out.
Something inside me…
Waking up.
But I forced it down.
I didn't react.
I couldn't.
JAXON POV
The beating got worse.
I looked at her again.
Enough.
I shook Xavier's hand off.
And walked forward.
Each step heavier than the last.
I got there.
Pushed Kayla aside.
"Stop," I said coldly.
The girls froze.
I looked at all of them.
My voice dropped.
"From today…"
I paused.
Then—
"No one touches her."
