Corviknight struggled to free himself but couldn't manage to break free. Machamp's grip held him firmly in place, stubbornly refusing to let go.
"Machamp, punish that metal bird. Use Thunder Punch with both arms."
Machamp's fists crackled with electricity as it coursed through Corviknight's body.
"Use Fire Blast next."
Machamp shot a giant fireball at Corviknight, and it exploded, engulfing the two in smoke. Still, he refused to let go.
Corviknight had taken massive damage. While Machamp fared no better, he was currently in control of the battle. However, Silas saw James with a determined and confident look on his face.
"Corviknight, use Metal Sound, Steel Wing, and Screech combined."
Corviknight could vibrate his energy-infused feathers to generate a piercing sound that could disrupt most Pokémon, especially at close range. The sound was extremely destructive.
James had explained the move to Silas once. It was essentially a Steel-type version of Boomburst with the same drawback as Solar Beam, there was a charging period. Since he was already caught, Corviknight persevered to deliver a devastating point-blank attack.
Sure enough, Machamp tried to stubbornly hold on, but this time was different.
A little bit of blood trickled out of his ears as he released his grip and fell to his knees. Machamp struggled to get up, but Corviknight didn't give him the chance. He rose into the air and flew at Machamp after building up some speed, beheading him with Steel Wing.
Silas could sense that the battle had taken everything out of Corviknight, but as a result, he experienced the joy of winning a battle for the first time.
Seeing this, Hun began to laugh.
"I admit that I was careless. Your strength is actually decent, so I will take you seriously then. Go, Salamence."
A blue dragon Pokémon with large wings and menacing claws appeared. It was the pseudo-legendary dragon of Hoenn.

On the small continent, this Salamence was probably the strongest Pokémon Silas had ever seen.
At this moment, Silas resented Archer. All the Rocket apprentices of powerful members were given powerful Pokémon as bodyguards except for him. It would have been nice to be given Alakazam. The teleportation would have been extremely convenient, especially early on in the competition.
Had they been outside the continent, Silas would have been extremely fearful. Inside this zone, Silas feared no individual Pokémon. At worst, he could flee with his Pokémon.
"Since you killed one of my Pokémon, it's only fair that I kill all of your Pokémon. Salamence, use Flamethrower. Burn them all."
Salamence unleashed its powerful Flamethrower, aimed directly at Corviknight.
Due to James' timely intervention, Corviknight escaped a grim fate by returning to his Pokéball at the last moment.
Silas threw out several Pokéballs containing Politoed, Swellow, and the two Poliwrath.
Silas coordinated with them telepathically.
"Politoed, be ready with Hydro Pump to counter any ranged attacks it uses. Poliwrath, jump on Swellow's back for now. Swellow, use your Boomburst."
Using his psychic powers, the Poliwrath on Swellow's back reduced his own weight burden and guarded himself against falling off if Swellow moved at high speed. They were now ready for battle.
As soon as Poliwrath got on his back, Swellow ascended to the same height as Salamence before releasing a powerful sonic blast from his mouth.
"Salamence, use Protect."
The emerald barrier protected Salamence in time as the waves bounced harmlessly against it.
Seeing this, Silas smiled.
Protect was considered a bailout move, and it had a cooldown. This meant Salamence had wasted its defensive trump card for a while.
"Haha, I think you forget that everyone is suppressed. Your Salamence is powerful, but not a dominating force. Couldn't even bravely deal with a minor Boomburst attack. Are you sure this is a real Salamence? They are known for ferocity, not fearfulness."
"Please continue with the useless talk. Salamence, use Draco Meteor."
While furious, Hun wouldn't allow her emotions to cloud her judgment. The goal was to win the battle.
Salamence clearly wasn't her own Pokémon, but they were in decent sync. He rose into the air and unleashed an orange orb containing a massive amount of Dragon-type energy into the sky. It then broke apart into twenty meteors.
The meteors rained down on the battlefield and struck indiscriminately.
Silas and his group struggled desperately to dodge, but not everyone could avoid damage.
The Poliwrath left on the ground was struck by four of the meteors.
Poliwrath was a team player and managed to detonate a few of the meteors early before impact, saving the group a lot of trouble.
While the meteors were descending on him, he still found the energy to shoot Hydro Pump towards the other meteors.
Silas quickly returned him to his Pokéball for safety.
The thing about Draco Meteor was that each use cut its power by about half, just like Overheat, so Poliwrath's sacrifice was not in vain. Salamence wouldn't be able to explode with that kind of power again.
Silas suddenly sensed an intense rage.
Dark clouds surrounded them as rain fell heavily onto the ground. The amount of water was staggering. The battlefield was quickly flooded.
Politoed's eyes were glowing when he leapt using the Mega Shift skill, but with a variation. He created footholds by using his psychic power to condense the rainwater beneath his feet.
He arrived directly above Salamence but slightly to his side and struck fiercely with a powerful Mega Kick to the head.
As Salamence fell toward the ground, Poliwrath had already executed the same technique and attacked with Ice Punch repeatedly.
The first one was devastating. It struck Salamence in the back between his wings as he came crashing down. The second was an uppercut that sent Salamence into the air before he landed heavily on the ground.
There was now ice between his wings.
"It seems your team is quite dangerous, but I don't think it's enough. Salamence, rise."
Salamence rose into the air as if he hadn't just been struck by three heavy blows.
The majesty of an elite-tier Salamence wasn't to be trifled with.
Hun jumped onto Salamence's back and, at the same time, tossed out another two Pokéballs. They were Steelix and Hitmonchan.

Hitmonchan targeted Politoed and rushed toward him.
The punch hit Politoed in the gut with tremendous force, but he held on, only being pushed back a few feet.
The remaining Poliwrath quickly stepped forward to defend his king.
Silas communicated telepathically with Poliwrath to remain calm.
"Poliwrath, we are with you. It's not just you and Politoed. Get your head in the game."
"Apologies. I will strive to do better. Please defend me for a few moments."
Silas understood Poliwrath's intentions.
"Swellow, use Hurricane."
As Swellow flapped his wings, a massive windstorm formed around Steelix, Hitmonchan, and Salamence. The power was intensified due to the rain.
At the same time, Poliwrath struck his belly with a glowing hand, and with each hit, his attack increased. He struck his own stomach six times.
Belly Drum temporarily maximized a Pokémon's attack power in exchange for roughly half their stamina.
Salamence used Dragon Pulse and Steelix used Iron Tail on the same spot inside the storm. The shockwave generated by the attacks broke apart the Hurricane.
"Hitmonchan, use Drain Punch combined with Thunder Punch."
Hitmonchan tried to target Politoed again, but that was wishful thinking with Poliwrath there.
While the rain was falling, Poliwrath's speed was a serious advantage.
Poliwrath met Hitmonchan's fist with his own fist coated in ice. When the attacks collided, Poliwrath pushed him back.
"Poliwrath, use Liquidation."
Poliwrath condensed a blade of water and attacked Hitmonchan. Due to his superior speed, Hitmonchan didn't have any time to dodge.
"Hitmonchan, use Detect."
Hitmonchan's eyes turned a glowing green, and he seemingly dodged the blade of water, but Liquidation's range was deceptive when Poliwrath boosted its power using Belly Drum.
The edge of the blade still found Hitmonchan's body.
Had he not used Detect, Hitmonchan would have been split across the chest. Instead, there was now a straight, bloody line across his chest from the Liquidation attack.
Hun looked on in shock.
Detect normally allowed a Pokémon to avoid danger, but it wasn't enough. This meant that the threat posed by Poliwrath was extreme.
Hun hadn't noticed Poliwrath's increased power yet since the Hurricane temporarily blocked her visibility, but now, looking at him, she noticed his bulging muscles and the energy coming off his body.
"It seems that I've underestimated you."
Hun realized that had the other Poliwrath not been taken out by Draco Meteor, her team would be in extreme trouble.
This normally would have hardened her resolve to settle things with Silas now while his main power was weakened. The problem was that they were now in an area crawling with Rockets and Luminary Court members. It was unwise to engage in a serious battle.
Win or lose, she would be at a disadvantage. The power displayed by Silas showed that even if she won, it would come at a heavy price that would leave her vulnerable to hidden enemies.
"Salamence, use Draco Meteor."
This time, the powerful orb only produced ten meteors, but the power contained within them was still considerable.
Everyone worked hard to dodge the attacks or diffuse them.
While Silas was focused on the meteors, Hun returned all her Pokémon to their balls except for Salamence, and then they directly escaped.
Silas didn't give chase. He was also aware of the consequences of them engaging in a heated battle here.
The irony was that in the commotion of the battle, the Aggron they were originally fighting over had long since vanished.
