Chapter 28 - Chapter 28 - Another dismissal of court?!

Seeing Yunyin's look full of pride, Fuliang understood why he had felt that intent a moment ago.

If it was another ministry or even the Ministry of Rites, then he might've hit a hard rock and instantly accused Yunyin of treason…

But their Ministry of Revenue's Main Ministry was exactly placed in the Qingling Province! With so many people, their taxes every year were the highest, so naturally, it would be the place they catered to the most.

Because of this, what the emperor did was even more unacceptable.

Who knows yet how far reaching this one act of the emperor will affect the empire?

It's said that the emperor had the final say when it came to rulings, but all the ministries had a major authority in their own jurisdiction…

One thing Fuliang knew was that from now on, any matter the emperor wished to do would have severe difficulties. It's said that emperors only have the dynasty in their heart, so from now on, he really should only have the dynasty in his heart and no longer think about doing anything else!

The Imperial Treasury, a separate treasury used by the Imperial Palace, obtains its budget from the Ministry of Revenue's evaluation.

Yunyin glanced over to Fuliang, feeling like he had been caught. But he said several things and the assistant minister still didn't comment.

'The arrogance of the Ministry of Revenue has always been the greatest. It is this arrogance that made me want to enter it, this indifference to authority and the ability to change rules… it seems I've made the right choice!'

"Assistant Minister Fuliang, I haven't heard much about the Yueling Province's production…"

"Oh, it's not much. The four spirit provinces each hold core positions because of what they produce – Yangling is in the southwest and it has countless mountains to the west and a vast green landscape to the south.

Compared to its neighbour the Qingling Province, they have an extremely targeted focus on the path of Wisdom. The Main Ministry of the Ministry of Officials resides there because it's the home of over a third of the officials!

Qingling, as you already said, is the farming field of the dynasty. It is the most populated province and is thriving in various paths.

Shuiling is the eastern capital of our dynasty. Its landscape is diverse from the south to the north and is connected to other kingdoms through rivers. It is an optimal place to build and has become the Main Ministry of the Ministry of Works. The buildings stemming from there have rebuilt the whole capital, constructed the great canal and various important buildings and fortresses were constructed through their hands.

Finally there is our Yueling Province, the province my little Yueling was named after –

Close to the war-active north and the trade-rich west, it has become the Main Ministry of the Ministry of Crafts! Whether it's simple crafts or war constructs, they've all been created and crafted in this province.

Although the Ministry of Crafts is rather quiet in the court, and their ministers are rarely seen in the court, each of them are extremely important and they've created key objects for the province.

Because of this, although our Yueling Province is rather poor in harvest and the weather isn't great, there are still so many counties and cities.

That was also why your suggestion last time was so suitable for us.

Besides the three provinces in the south and our crafting-oriented north, there's probably nowhere else where the population in cities is large enough for your suggestion to have an effect." Fuliang explained for a long time.

Yunyin, having known it all, naturally acted extremely curious and commented on a few things. Both sides knew about these, so why did they talk about it? It was to establish a closer connection!

A high ranking assistant minister explained to Yunyin such simple matters, how could he not guess deeply about his attitude? Now he could firmly say that this assistant minister had some intention, but this intention shouldn't be bad, so he continued the act.

Yueling had sensed something about what happened. As a quasi-outsider, she didn't have the suspicion of those that are participating in the act, but she had the oversight of an outsider. She could only guess that her father favoured this official, which delighted her, as it meant this peer would interact more often with her.

The breakfast was soon complete and Fuliang asked Yunyin of one last matter while the servants were already mostly completed with all their preparation for his departure.

"Official Yunyin, I am about to depart and will leave for at least two weeks, but it's possible that I will stay away for a month or two.

My dear wife, Yueling's mother, has gone on a pilgrimage a month ago to pray for the families' well-being.

She won't be back for at least two months, so I am worried about Yueling feeling lonely in this courtyard… I only want to ask you to come by when you have time for a meal."

"Assistant Minister Fuliang, please don't be so formal! A free meal, I will come every day if that's the case!" Yunyin chuckled as he made this joke.

"It's a deal then!" Yueling suddenly spoke up, "If Yunyin can come over every day, then my scholarly studies will be boosted extremely every day!"

"Ah," Yunyin felt stuck when he heard this… what do you mean by saying this! Coming over every day, do you really think we're neighbours who casually walk down the street to eat together?

"Haha, young friend Yunyin is indeed kind," Fuliang agreed and even changed Yunyin's address again such a short time…

Yunyin could only cup his hands and agree.

"Oh, just a last remark… the morning court today and evening court this evening were cancelled already. Accordingly, the morning court tomorrow will likely be cancelled too."

"Again?" Yunyin blurted out.

"It's fine the Yangling Province doesn't have any issues currently that need to be addressed." Fuliang shook his head to signal to him that there was no need to talk about it anymore.
