Missy remained quiet, still deep in thought by the time they reached the parking area in front of Raven's car.
"Still thinking about it?" Raven asked as he held open the passenger door for her.
Missy hesitated for a moment before finally speaking.
"What actually happened to him?"
"Ethan?" Raven glanced at her briefly. "Let's just say he is being consumed by a cursed object."
Missy blinked.
"That ring will consume him?"
Raven let out a quiet breath as though considering how much to explain.
"It feeds on him."
He closed the car door after Missy entered and moved around to the driver's seat.
"His anger. His jealousy. His frustration. Whatever darkness already exists within him."
Missy swallowed uneasily.
"Is it because of..."
"In this case?" Raven's fingers briefly brushed hers before he started the engine. "You."
Her expression shifted immediately.
