Chapter 4 - Wrong Number

Sara came back to class and Sweety asked her what happened in the principal's office. Sara told her everything.

"See? I told you," Sweety said with a bright smile and placing her hand under her chin. "Now, don't miss any class of this Mr. Handsome."

Sara waved her hand in front of Sweety's face. "Come out of your dream. Don't overact." Sara sighed. "I don't know, why this girl likes him?"

After class, Sara sent Sweety off and went to the cafe. Her coworker was on leave that day, so all the work fell on Sara. David entered, looked at the counter, and frowned when he didn't see her. Then he spotted Sara serving coffee to a customer, smiling.

David smiled a little and sat at a table. Sara walked over to take his order. "Your order sir?"

David looked at Sara. "Cappucino."

Sara went inside to make it. Just then, Ms. Stella walked into the cafe. She looked surprised to see David and smiled. "Mr. David! What are you doing here?"

David thought, "Seriously."

He gave a fake smile, "Ms. Stella. What a coincidence."

"You visit this cafe too?" Stella asked.

"Yeah, I've been coming here lately." David replied. Stella sat beside him and started talking. David didn't say much, only replying when he had to.

Sara brought David's order, but froze for a second when she saw them together. She forced herself to stay calm and set the cup down. "Your order, sir. Do you need anything sir? Please let me know."

"No, thank you," David replied.

Sara looked at Stella and faked a surprised expression. "Ms. Stella! Hello, ma'am. How are you? What a coincidentce."

Stella looked at Sara. "Hi, Sara. What are you doing here? Wait. Do you work here?"

"Yes, ma'am. Part-time work," Sara replied.

Stella turned to David, "So, Mr. David, you knew she works here. Why didn't you tell me? We share everything with each other, don't we? But you didn't mention it once."

Sara and David both stared at her like she was crazy.

"Why does it matter to you, Ms. Stella?" Sara asked.

"You know, Sara, Mr. David and I always share our things. We're close," Stella said.

Sara glared at David. "So you really moved on?" she thought.

"What? Ms. Stella, What are you talking about? When did we - " David started.

Stella cut him off. "Oh! Come on, David. Sara is our student. She won't judge us. Am I right, Sara?"

"Why should I care about your business, Ms. Stella? I'm here to do my job. Excuse me. I've work to do. If you need anything, let me know." Sara went back to the counter. Her chest tightened and her heart felt like someone stabbed it.

"See? He's moved on. Why am I still thinking about him?" She thought.

David was angry at Stella's words. "Ms. Stella, Why would you say that? When did we share personal things?"

"What I meant to say, Mr. David, that-"

David cut her off. "I don't share my personal life with others. I hate people who take advantage of me. So, Please don't mind. I've to go. Excuse Me." David left the cafe without looking at Stella.

Stella was stunned by his words. Sara watched them talking, shocked. "Why did Ms. Stella fall for him? She's beautiful. So many guys would fall for her if she said 'yes.' So why choose David over anyone? Poor lady." Sara felt guilty for her.

Later that night, Sara lay in bed, smiling. Then she jolted. "What I'm thinking? No, no. Stella got rejected by David. Good. She doesn't deserve that type of man. She deserves someone better than him." her heart danced with happiness.

The next day at college, Sweety and Sara were walking to class when they saw David and Stella talking. Sweety yanked Sara behind a pole to hide. David looked annoyed, but Stella was beaming.

"What are they talking about?" Sweety whispered.

"I don't Know. Maybe the syllabus," Sara replied, but her face was jealous.

"No Chance. Ms. Stella isn't like that," Sweety said. Sara gave her a weird look.

"Yes, It's true. She's like a Witch. She always attracts handsome men and flirts with them. We need to save Mr. Handsome from her, or Mr. Handsome will fall for her too," Sweety said.

Sara stared at her. "Since when did you start caring about Mr. Handsome?"

Sweety replied, "See? You also called him Mr. Handsome. That means you like him too. But I started caring about him since Stella started talking to him."

Sara lightly hit her temple against the pole. "Oh Sweety. He can take care of himself. You don't have to worry."

"No, Sara. Even our seniors said, last year she talked to a lecturer. He was married, a one-woman man, never looked at other girls. But when she talked to him and he started to fall for her. He was ready to divorce his wife, but his wife took him to another country. Now they're living a happily." Sweety said.

Sara looked at Sweety "What? Is that true?"

"Then I have to take care of my David," Sara thought.

"It's true. Why should I lie? It's about Mr. Handsome's life. I can't ignore it," Sweety said.

Sara replied, "Okay then! Let's do it together?" She glanced at David. "Come, let's go to class. Mr. Hand- no, Mr. David is coming."

David looked at them and smiled at Sara. "So now you're attending my class. Not bad. My weapon worked," he thought.

Sweety was ecstatic when David smiled. After they sat down, she whispered, "Did you see, Sara? He smiled when he saw me. I'm damn sure he likes me." Sara looked at Sweety's proud, happy face.

Sara sighed.

David entered the class and everyone greeted him. He glanced at Sara once and started his lecture. Sara didn't listen. She stared at the girls in the first row - and even Sweety- admiring him. She felt a stab of jealous.

"Ms. Sara! Can you explain this?" a voice called. Sara froze and looked at David.

"Sir, that is -" She blanked.

David cut her off "Just listen to the class."

After attendance, David said, "Sara, Come to my office. Now."

Sweety looked at Sara "I know you're attracted to Mr. Handsome, but at least listen to his class, right?"

Sara glared at her, then followed David.

_

In his office, they were alone. Sara looked around while David watched her. "I know you still love me. But give me a chance. I want to clear something. And what happened yesterday isn't what you think. Stella and I aren't even friends and -"

Sara cut him off. "Excuse me, Mr. David. Did you called me here to talk about this? I thought you called me to clarify my doubts about the syllabus. That's what the principal said. I can take notes from you, not from others. So, it's better if we talk about studies."

David looked at Sara. "Okay, give me your number."

Sara replied "What? Why should I? I told you, it's better we talk -"

David interrupted. "About studies. I'm only asking for your number for that. I have a soft copy of the notes. So for study purposes, give me your number."

Sara glared at him, then wrote a number on a sheet.

"Okay. You can leave now." David said.

Sara left the office with an evil smile.

David looked at the number and smile, "Hmm! Third step cleared."
