Chapter 1 - A brand new life

"This is its mess again right?"

"Yeah I can't stand this bullshit anymore, we've been too tolerant, don't you think?"

"You're right this is the last straw for me, I can't deal with walking into this mess when I want to cook, like, it gets to a point."

"You know, why don't we just make it suffer for what its done to us, I mean, its only fair if we ruin it's life after all its done to us?"

"Well I don't know so much about that, but if you're down, I'll do it too."

"Oh great I overslept again.. I suppose I'm not used to this schedule at all yet, its a good thing I accounted for this to happen and planned ahead... well, with time I will surely get used to it!"

Isobel got up and strutted groggily towards her desk with a yawn.

"Gosh, writing in a diary daily is rather cumbersome even if it's on my mobile phone but here we go.."

'It's finally my first day at university! And for the record my dream university too, Oakhaven university. I graduated college with straight A's and my career path into medicine seems quite bright, moving on from the past I really want to find better company. I think I'm in the right place though, silly me of course I'm in the right place…'

'Alright that's enough for now, I'm going to make the most of the day ahead of me'

Isobel cordially and silently got ready for the day and soon began to head outside of her room as she quickly noticed her flatmate heading down the hallway at the same time as her.

The cologne was strong, an aromatic and strong woody smell, belonging to a moderately tall man with brown wavy hair and brown eyes- just like hers. She was comparatively shorter than him, standing at 5"5 whereas he looked to be 5"10 or so, not that it mattered anyway.

"Oh hey there!"

He spun around calmly, as if expecting her.

"Hi I'm Eric, its nice to meet you.. your name is?"

"Isobel! Its Isobel, its good to see a flatmate so soon as well, are you headed to the kitchen?"

"I am indeed, you too?"

"Unfortunately, no, I'm going to my medicine lecture, but we can chat more later right?"

"Yeah, and no worries enjoy yourself" Eric replied.

Isobel fluttered out of the doors and headed downstairs unnaturally and unusually fast, and it was only when she was outside the floor she realised she was holding her breath the entire time- She gasped profusely, her heart rate steadily increasing before coming down again to a comfortable rate.

'Gosh I'm so awkward what on earth was I thinking? I should've talked to him more, plus I didn't even ask what course he was in, but that cologne was too strong for me, I just had to leave.'

'Calm down, just breathe.'

She soothed herself eventually, and it was then she realised the receptionist had been watching her the entire time, and her heart rate began to creep up again- before she steeled her mind and began to walk out the door with a quick nervous grin on her face.

'So embarrassing... I need to find a solution for my anxiety fast'

Isobel began to check for signs on where to find her lecture hall and before long she eventually found the building with the help of the student ambassadors around the campus. And now, she was at the door of her lecture theatre.

She began to inaudibly ramble about something, and then some coherent words came out after.

"Well here it is, I hope its not as boring as they say…"
