Ayanokouji POV
"I am proud and grateful to lead this school as it's student council president, with these words. I extend my resignation. Everyone, thank you very much" the president says as he bowed, and everyone clapped.
Currently we are all listening to the now former president of the student council president Horikita Manabu's speech as his term as president is over. As the new student council president that was elected who was none other than Nagumo Miyabi took the stage. As I looked around, I saw Nanami-senpai looking very upset. Normally she's a calm, sweet girl that enjoys video games but when she hears the name or deals with Nagumo, her expression changes. (A/N: you know s*** is about to go down when someone as sweet as Chiaki becomes upset)
"Thank you very much Mr. President. Now let us hear from the new student council president. Nagumo Miyabi" the announcer said as the new president takes the stage.
"Good day everyone. I am Nagumo Miyabi of Class 2-A, your newly appointed Student council president. Without further ado, I would like to turn this school, into a true meritocratic school. Where only students who are capable of doing well deserve to be on top, while those who don't do well deserve to be at the bottom"
After that speech, I wonder if this was what Nanami-senpai was talking about? It's unbelievable that she could've predicted something like this would happen but either way. If Nagumo is that dangerous, then I might help Nanami-senpai soon.
After we left the auditorium, I was suddenly met up by a girl. If I remember correctly her name was Sato Maya, I wonder what she wants from me?
"Umm, you're Ayanokouji-kun right? can I have a minute to talk to you?" she asked
This is truly a strange situation for me.
She's from Class D and yet...
I suppose I should accept rather than just let her wait.
"Sure" I replied
"But can we go somewhere else to talk, if that's okay with you?"
I simply agreed and walked with her.
We went somewhere in an isolated area. After a few minutes of walking, we made it to the back of the building.
"This might be a weird question but, Ayanokouji-kun are you...dating someone by any chance?"
Dating? I wonder what she's on about. I mean I don't know a thing or two about romance, but the likes of Kaguya and Miyuki do since they are dating as well as Kazuto and Asuna, but I barely have any experience in that.
"eh?"
"What do you mean by that?" I asked
"Y-you know what I mean, I'm just asking if you have a girlfriend or something?" she said, why do I feel like I know where this is going.
"No, I don't have one" I replied
"Ohh, I see"
"So uggh, I know that you're from a different class but is it alright if we start out as friends? You know, hang out? Let's also exchange phone numbers if that's alright." she said
"Sure, it's alright I guess" I replied
"But I'd like to ask, why me of all people?"
"Well, you see, it was around the sports festival. You were really cool in that relay event; I didn't know you were this handsome now that I looked at you more closely and you are quite nice" Well this is...unexpected but am I really that attractive? I also noticed that she was going very red.
"I-I...well catch you later Ayanokouji-kun" Sato said as she ran off.
I wonder what that was about?
"Ohh look at you playboy-kun"
"Eh?"
It's Karma and Yuuichi. Where did they come from? Don't tell me they were watching.
"Wow didn't expect you to slowly gather a harem" Karma said teasingly
"What do you mean, and what is a harem?"
"Never mind that, look at you, getting all the girls and all" Yuuichi said
"First Karuizawa now this girl? man, you're the luckiest man alive" Karma really likes teasing others, doesn't he?
"Yeah, thanks I suppose." I said as the three of us walked.

*Time skip*
Another day, and another midterm exam came and went. Shigeru-sensei arrived with the results of the midterm exam. He tapes up the paper as he showed the results
"As expected of Class S, most of you got perfect scores and those who were previously around 95 or higher have improved to 97 or higher."
Everyone clapped at the fact that all of us got 97 or higher. The class really have improved on their studies. But I'm not surprise since the smartest students of this class did tutor the 95 or higher scored students.
"I am impressed as always. Right now, however, there will be a new special exam." sensei said
"Another exam? seriously?" Sora said sounding already bored at this point
"Yes, and it will serve as your year-end exam so do prepare. The exam you'll be taking is known as the "Paper shuffle" exam"
"Huh? Paper shuffle?" Miyuki said with curiosity
"Correct, in this exam you will be paired with someone in this class for the exam." he stated
"Ohh so we're working in pairs now?" Kei asked
"Exactly" sensei replied
"Sensei, how will the pairs be determined?" Kaguya asked as she raised her hand
"Hold on class, don't be in a hurry now. The pairing method will be announced after you all take a quiz by next week"
"So, you're saying there's another test before the test?" Kazuto asked
"If you put it like that then the answer is yes" Light answered
"The recent test you took was just to check your academic ability so far, so even if you get a zero score, there is no penalty." sensei explained
"Well, that's good to know even if most of us will never get as low as zero" Houtarou said
"However, the quiz that you will be taking will affect how you will do in the Paper shuffle exam"
"What do you mean sensei?" Yuuichi said as he raised his hand
"You see on this special exam, if a pair's total score falls below a 60-point mark, they will be both expelled from school" sensei explained
"Well, that's no problem for us since most of us always get 95 and above." Karma said with confidence
"I agree with Karma-san. We'll just do our best like before and get through this exam without any problems" Kei said with assurance.
"Also, it will be considered a failure if you don't reach a minimum mark of 700 points overall in throughout this exam"
"So, this means we all have to get high scores and adding those scores together to reach 700 points?" Lelouch spoke
"Correct" sensei said
"Another thing to note. The questions for the exam will be designed by another class"
"Say what?"
"Seriously"
"Let me explain, one of the 4 classes will solve questions on the exam made by each of the other classes. You may also decide which class will answer your questions If there is a conflict, a lottery will be held then there will be a comparison between the solver and the nominee's sides' total points. And the winning class will take away 50 class points away from the other class."
"So, we can just simply attack which ever class huh?" Yuuichi questioned
"Exactly, and we can just simply give them impossible questions that only a real genius can answer, and we can easily swipe away class points" Kei said
"Yes, you can do that, but the teachers will check the questions thoroughly so there will be fairness amongst the other classes."
"Goddamnit" Kei mumbled
"Of course, cheating in the exam will result in immediate disqualification and expulsion will occur for that pair" sensei said
"I'll send you all detailed specifications for the making of the test questions by email later"

It was the afternoon and I'm currently with Kei. We both started discussing on what we need to do for the paper shuffle exam
"To be honest Kiyotaka-san, it doesn't matter what kind of questions will whatever class give us. We'll simply answer them no problems and win the whole thing no problem" he said
"Yeah, I mean studying isn't going to be a problem for all of us so I guess the only thing we should do is choose which class we should target for this exam" I said
"I'm thinking Class A since they are still a threat to us even though we're currently above them"
"That would be a good choice, but we should consider other options"
"Options? listen, Class B is completely neutral, Class C ain't nothing to us, and Class D stumble easily if we target them." he said
"You do have a point"
*ring* *ring*
My phone rang and I picked it up, and it was Karuizawa.
"Hello?"
"I heard Sato-san confessed to you" she said
"I already know that you were spying on us"
"eh? really?"
"Sato told you after, right?"
"Yeah, she told the other girls from my class about it even me"
"I see"
After that I immediately hung up
"Hey Kiyotaka-san?"
"hmm?"
"Is that your girlfriend you're talking to?" Kei said with a smirk
"I don't know what you're talking about, and Karuizawa is not my girlfriend" I replied
"I know, I know, she's just your pawn. I get that but admit it, she is quite pretty don't you think?" he asked teasingly
"I guess so" I replied
"hehe"
"What's so funny?"
"Ohh nothing"

Class C's room
Ryuen POV
"Anyone noticed something strange going on as of now?"
I'm currently with this pathetic excuse for a class. As of late things have gotten pretty suspicious, and things that have been occurring aren't coincidences anymore.
"What do you mean Ryuen-san?" Ishizaki asked
"What I mean is that there is a mastermind in Class D who's been controlling from behind the scenes"
"eh? I thought there was already a mastermind, you even described who he looks like" Ibuki said
"Yes Ibuki, but it's not him since he did betray me after all and I'm going to punish him for that" I said
"However, there is a different mastermind among them and it's not from Class D"
"huh? you can't be serious?" Ibuki said as I slammed my fist into a desk near me.
"I think I've told you all this before but what is the most powerful weapon in the world that people can use?" I asked
"Violence"
"Now come out, this is your last chance. I'll leave you alone if you tell me everything" I said as I continue walking pass the classroom.
I stopped at a particular person who has been suspicious as of late.
"What's wrong? can't look up towards me? Manabe?" I said as I looked at her with fear clearly written all over her face.
"You are the traitor, aren't you?" I asked
"I knew it"
I grabbed Manabe's head and slammed it to her own desk
"You think that I will tolerate betrayal after what happened to me?!!!??" I shouted
"F-forgive....m..me"
"I'll forgive alright, if you tell me who or should I say who these people are" I said looking at her pathetic face as she looked at me
5 minutes later
"I see, so the bullying is just this little game you're playing huh?"
"How could you all be idiots into falling for their trap like that?!"
"Now, now, Ibuki, don't blame them. I told them that I would forgive them, right?"
"So, you're telling me that it's Class S that are the witnesses, both Katagiri and Ayanokouji in particular?"
The three nodded at me
"Ayanokouji and Katagiri? I've ran into them before, but I don't think they're that kind of people to do something like this" Ibuki said
"Kukuku, you really believe that? This is Class S we are dealing with, anyone of them can be the mastermind but since Manabe said that it was these two in particular then they are potential candidates, but it still doesn't add up to anything. Fine then I guess I'll use "them"" I said as I phoned Kushida.
